What an effective thing, using humor to help tear down barriers between the deaf community and the hearing world. In the end you've shown that while we have differences, no doubt. In truth, all of us actually share a great deal more in common. Quite inspirational as-well-as enlightening. Kudos to you guys for what you've done in creating and publishing this video. Thanks.
love this video, u guys can make light of the challenge. it was fun watching because u guys were laughing and having fun. I've always been curious with the deaf and hearing way of speaking. I'm hearing. and this was super fun to watch
I love that you are willing to share this and smile at yourself. I wish most hearing people understood how difficult it is to learn fluent speech when one can not hear the sounds - especially the sounds made from the back of the mouth or from the throat, where they can not be seen. I had the good luck (?) of having most of my hearing as a kid, it just came and went with ear infections and nerve damage. But even as a mostly hearing adult, there are many sounds I do not make like the people around me. I still have flashbacks of the evil days of speech "therapy." I hated it then, and still hate it today. God bless my mother. She taught me how to speak much better than any of the therapists. I now work in a job with the hearing and most of my clients are hearing, and other than being asked where I am from because I don't sound like a local, no one ever says they have problems understanding my speech (thanks, Mom!)
@@Mrwickedman95 I agree. She's cute as Hell. :) I also love the way she laughs about it. Good attitude! Don't even let anybody give you shit about it, Emely. That voice and accent is what makes you you just as much as your face, hair and personality do.
Lmao....you guys are awesome...my daughter is deaf and we watched this together...she tried the words as well..keep theses videos coming...we love them...
Question....🤔💬 ok, knowing Spanish which is my primary language (I'm Colombian from South America) I'm clarifying this because people tend to say Columbia just FYI...now my question is does she knows SSL (Spanish Sign Language)?
You did pretty damn good my cousin has a bad think def accent and she puts looks at the word and she will spell it out the way it is supposed to sound she like 14 and she thinks she can't say words I think she does great 👍
ok! she proves a show she says deaf people have not hear the sound... she is smart , joyous and pretty. 😎! how did she is deaf? she wear a hearing aids she may talks - a good question. how do people understand her to talk? her voice is perfectly or good or change the voice- how? she stop talk.. turn voice off how do she loves American sign language? she is smart and 😎
Madi L. Being deaf, they cannot hear themselves when they speak just as they can't hear anything else. It's hard for them to make certain sounds that come from the back of the mouth and the throat. They can't hear the sounds that need to be made when forming some words so they can't really mimic them properly. I hope that makes sense.
The "Deaf Accent" is due to the fact that deaf people can't hear the little differences in the sounds of speech and have to guess at them or they miss them entirely because they don't know they exist without heavy speech training. Remember too that for many Deaf People English is a second language. How about doing the challenge in ASL? I am assuming that for Eric ASL is a second language We heard Emely's Deaf Accent. Show us Eric's Hearing Accent.
What a hilarious event of you both doing the accent challenge.

How come she can’t pronounce the words (not being mean lol this sounds rude)
She’s Deaf so she doesn’t know what the words sound like.
Why do deaf people have an accent
Madi L. Being deaf, they cannot hear themselves when they speak just as they can't hear anything else. It's hard for them to make certain sounds that come from the back of the mouth and the throat.
