    You should go into depth with per optic settings. They can help you compensate for a lower or higher sense, depending on which optic you're using, without having to constantly change your sense according to the playstyle you want to adopt.

So I really do appreciate it

    I think it makes sense to change sensitivity when u hit a ceiling and feel like you lack in sth. For example rn I feel like distance aiming is no problem but close range tracking could be better, so I switch to lower sens so my arm and shoulders get trained more.

  • @nave9948
    @nave9948 9 месяцев назад +2

    I think that you should go over hand and arm placement and elevation with your monitor and chair to your desk. I say this because some days I just can’t aim even though I haven’t changed anything and some days I feel like I can just point and click and hitting shots feels natural. I noticed that when I rotate my chair and keep my arm flat on the desk and move my mouse up and down that the perfect spot is when my cross hair goes perfectly up and down with no diagonal movement and once I’m there I don’t move and my aim feels a lot better. I have always played better with lower sensitivity and last month I tried a higher sensitivity but realized that it’s not worth it because I’m just not as consistent and to do that just to keep up with the movement gods isn’t worth it.

  • @freakyfingers

    Actually yesterday I had to reduce the sensitivity from 1.6 to 1.5. I had a period of 2.5 weeks without playing, and when I started playing again, I was not hitting anything. Let's see how this goes from now

    Hi Dazs, thanks for the great video, I just wanted to ask whether you notice if sensitivity changes if I lower my resolution. My native resolution is 2560 by 1440p after changing my resolution to stretched res and going to 1920 by 1200 I noticed that I needed to lower my sense to an extreme to feel comfortable with it. I went from 800 dpi 1.5 to 1000 dpi 0.5 This seems drastically slow and doesn't correlate with the standard "pro mouse sens" do you have any advice here or have I lost my mind? haha

    Gee wiz Meow
    Edit: I really love the talk about the range of motion different games require, it sort of reinforcement to a theory I've held for a while now, that refer to it as a "world of aiming" because in a sense, aiming doesn't really exist out side this range of motion. It's a bit more detailed than just the range of motion you use, for example I include a small cone behind you for games like CS because there are times where you do need to 180, but you only need to be comfortable turning in a narrow range of motion around 180 degrees, so no world of aim exists between the standard range of motion, and 180 degrees.

    • @Dazs
      @Dazs  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah, it is something most definitely don’t consider.

    • @possibly_meta7389
      @possibly_meta7389 9 месяцев назад

      @@Dazs Yeah for sure, I also think that it explains why certain people are seemingly so consistent. Some people have the mouse space, and sensitivity range to accomplish any macro motion, so their mechanical skill, and experience with range of motion can take over, and allow them accomplish whatever range of motion the specific game requires, a good example of that imo is Shroud.

    When you use a high sens, play diamond dash for like 30 minutes before you start playing. Here you have to be damn fast and accurate, which helped me a lot. Also 16:9 and not above 24" in order to keep track on whats happening. Since i moved to 21:9 and 34" beacuse of my simulators, i hit shit :D

    I’ve been stuck on constantly changing my sensitivity for 3 months. I’m not new to apex just mnk. Ill play on a okay sens for tracking but be unable to track close range fights. Or ill on my current sens it’s slow enough to track most targets but it’s harder to do movement.

  • @henrys1925
    @henrys1925 9 месяцев назад +1

    My sensitivity is definitely too high, I know I’d be a much better player fixing it but I hate the slow feeling so would rather keep it the way it is - I’m pretty much sacrificing skill for enjoyment haha
    It’s interesting seeing how other people use a mouse; I’ve never seen someone do what I do, which probably doesn’t help my sun. I have my arm off the desk, with only the bottom of my palm touching the desk/flat mouse pad, and I only move the mouse one or two cms each way; I think I just use my high sensitivity for turning quickly with small movements. Pretty sure I have a 1600 DPI and around a 10 in-game sensitivity.
    Is that weird?

    • @Yucatechnical

      Most people starting out in shooters does what you're doing in some way or the other. MMORPGs and regular web browsing is usually handled with pure finger-tip grip, wrist damn near welded to the table.
      The first reason that undeniably is hindering you at that sens is "pixel skipping". Your sens is so high that a singe dot from your mouse moves the in-game cursor more than a single pixel, this erratic movement can and will make automatic weapons a lot less effective at range. Hell, you might find it impossible to land shots with a low magnification due to your aim skipping over the enemy due to one pixel being to the right of him, the next dot overshooting the enemy and ending up at the left of the enemy. Look up VODs of ImperialHal when he was playing MnK, his posture / aim style seems similar to yours, yet he was on equal to 0,5 sens with your DPI if I recall correctly.
      Recoil compensation and precision is what made me drop down my sens, and it really makes a really big difference, and quickly at that once you dedicate a bit of time to do aim training drills at lower sens. (went from ~1.5 sens to 0.65 at 1600dpi)

    with the 'jack of all trades' setting one thing I find crazy is the movement player lamic999 use mouse accel (not default windows) but that's something you could also look into and report back. I've seen more streamers and players in apex and val start using mouse accel more these days so it may be worth investigating. Once I feel my aim sucks I might pick it up for a few weeks myself.

    • @Dazs
      @Dazs  9 месяцев назад +1

      @Voltaire- yeah this has different affects depending on the sensor on the mouse. It makes sense though, did not make a major difference on old superlight. May try it on the superlight 2 since it has a better sensor and higher polling rate.

    Well for one I think many many more controller players are the ones interested in how to improve aim because we are more limited and mostly if we are looking to improve aim it has to do with alcs for those people really really trying to fine tune their aim. So maybe some type of in depth ALC discussion I myself have had a crazy journey with alcs going from very low sense to very high sense to finally resting somewhere in the middle and still not 100% satisfied.

  • @dizzygunner

    I don't think there is a problem with low sens being "slow", look at most pro fps players on MnK, they play on low sens and instantly snap to players.

    • @bergdk237
      @bergdk237 4 месяца назад

      As I see it, there will be slight differences depending on game, for Apex legends a 32cm is more like a medium sens, where as in cs or val it would be a high sens. Also depening on who you ask, anything under 40cm is for me a high sens, no matter the game😅

    I have a suggestion :
    Why not just practice with a sens randomizer and use a sens you feel good with, between the range of your randomizer ? I personally like using a sens that randomize between 1.2 and 2.4 for 800 dpi (Apex / source engine etc) on a glass pad (superglide).
    I think it's a reasonable range for apex for doing movement and aiming, when some player like itztimmy are on 21 cm and other like hollow and hardecki are on 42 (lyric was also on 42 not long ago). I don't know if you've ever made a video on the subject but it might be a good idea if you haven't.
    Also : Nice skypad you have here (what skate do u use ? There are some new promising skates like Esports Tiger YanZi Q and X-Raypad Obsidian if u want to try).

    why dont they just make aiming easier like making bullets 100 times larger so people dont have to spend hunderdsd if not thousands of hours in an aim trainer just so they have a reasonable chance of enjoying these games? many more people would be able to enjoy shooters if they werent so off putting for the majority of the population
