This wasn't a memorial service for Jeff this was the golden gods event or whatever the fuck it is Revolver magazine does lol..this was the day Jeff passed away so they interviewed all these other musicians asking about their experiences and whatnot about Jeff. A lot of them say in the video that they just found out about his death on the way there/within the hour etc. Plus who cares if any of the bands suck it's all all matter of opinion (no I do not like BVB by any means lol) but at least they respected Jeff and Slayer.
Im not even a fan of Black Veil Brides but you gotta give them credit for both being fans of Slayer and were respectful towards his influence in the metal genre.
Black Veil Brides are decent guys. They acknowledge why people hate them, and made it clear they don't give a shit. Not their fault 14 year old girls adore them. Nobody gave people that much shit for dressing up in the 80's, everyone's trying to be a hard-ass, but come off as oversensitive. If you hate them so much, why obsess over how much they suck? Damn man.
The Bay Area thrash bands and their fans gave the glam bands (e.g. the bands that dressed up like Poison, Motley Crue etc) a fucking ton of shit in the 1980s. Especially Exodus and Metallica; Gary Holt and Paul Baloff would frequently beat up Bon Jovi fans in the street for example. Part of the reason Metallica named their first album "Kill 'Em All" was basically referring to killing who they deemed posers.
ChernovFan100 the only reason why people hated bands because they think bands like metallica are worshiping the devil which they arent. I mean its different music that some people like i mean i know there are some bands that i dislike but i dont go commenting that i hate them and etc...i just hit the dislike button and go on to my next video but nope half of these people dont have a life and like to start stuff since they obviously dont like to be wrong and thinks they have to always be right.
I really liked the way both Jason Newstead and Rob Zombie carried themselves, with an honest dignity that really struck a chord. Some of the newer bands out there seemed like they were too into themselves. It's a sad time for all Slayer fans and the Metal genre overall. R.I.P. Jeff. You can never be replaced.
I had to look them up after this video. 22 and 23 year old kids who started listening to Slayer in High School? In other words, they only heard of them in the 2000's and all the other guys saw them LIVE in the early 80's. That says it all right there.
Hanneman will ALWAYS be in my heart and mind.He pulled out the vicious riffs that commanded my attention.he didn't have that "look at me i'm a rockstar attitude".GOD bless you Jeff R.I.P GUITARBROTHER.
Holy shit man shut the fuck up. Just cause you don't like them or they don't play "metal" doesn't mean they can't like and respect Jeff. Jeff all around was an amazing artist, respected by many people of different genres and subgenres. so BVB can admire him, you are fucking ridiculous if you don't believe so
I've never really listen a lot of theire songs... But I can say I'm sad because the metal world have lose an artist. Black Sabbath was the first band who created the heavy music, I enjoy every day this awesome music, we are the next generation of metal/heavy in this world. Time to rock dudes.
Jeff Hanneman influenced many a guitarist across all genres of rock & metal. His unassuming humbleness was such a contrast to his evil dissonant riffs. Seemed like he had a great sense of humor as well
lauren gallagher lol is he in arena selling metal band? no. So why would 2majestic be invited lol? BVB doesn't sell out arenas. They can BARELY make a warped tour ticket.
What the hell is up with the black veil brides hate? They are giving their words, and Andy said 'slayer will be in rock/metal history forever' and if you don't like bvb then just go to the part where it doesn't have bvb, plain and simple as that
He was talking about how we should keep in mind those who were close to Jeff rather than just focus on how it effects us. Quite a selfless thing to say.
Got to see Slayer couple summers ago it was with Gary Holt but my favorite part of the entire trip was in the hotel when i was waking back up to my room at 2am and all i heard was SLAYERRRR!!!!!!!
I saw Slayer in the late 80s in Winnipeg.. Metallica opened for them.. I'm still deaf and its 2013. BTW - Who is the black-haired chick in the background 09:45?
why are all of these elitists in the comment section whining about Black Veil Brides talking about Jeff Hanneman. sure, they’re not as heavy as Slayer, but this video is about missing Jeff, not about comparing both bands. as long as they miss him, it’s all that matters.
Sebastian Bach speaks the truth... it's sad that the heavy metal lifestyle includes heavy drinking and drugs. That's mainly the reason why we loose so many talented musicians... it's sad, but I guess that's juste the way it is. RIP Jeff Hanneman
It's a real sad and sorrowful shame that it took a bite from a spider to start a downward spiral from a talented popular admired and respected artist who was relaxing in a hot tub but waited a week before seeking help I know I'm just a music fan but I feel compelled to urge everyone to never take anything like a venomous bite for granted and to please please please seek and agree to receive help and treatment for any and all ailments and to stomp all venomous creatures with everything possible to keep any more tragedies from happening he was born in 1963 two years after I was and he should have been able to live into his golden years.
Speaking of which, why hasn't anyone really spoken out from the Slayer camp on the passing of Jeff? I don't mean the 30 second toast from Kerry. I mean a REAL tribute from the actual bandmates??
I'll be honest...I like BVB's music, but that's the only thing i like about them. They do NOT belong in RGG, they have not deserved it by a looooooong shot, So i agree with you...
Rob was the only one who rightfully seemed to think about how Jeff's death affected other people who cared about and were affected him-- from his family to members of his band. Without being disrespectful of Jeff, dying of alcoholic cirrhosis is a lame and irresponsible thing to do to yourself and those around you. Being a drunk or a junkie in a band isn't cool or dangerous, it's just cliche, trite and a pain in the ass for everyone around you, especially when so much treatment is available.
Why do people keep bringing up the riffs? What about the song writing? Those lyrics we wrote are freaking badass. I love those war songs and Angel of Death is my favorite song. Some musicians go too soon regardless of how important they are to the Hard Rock/Metal world. Even though it sucked when both Dio & Lemmy left at least they left us with so much music unlike Randy Rhoads or Dimebag or Layne Staley.
Michael M The lyrics are cool, but they aren’t particularly deep or profound. The riffs are always the pinnacle to most great metal songs, and Jeff was one of the undisputed kings of that.
yeah he seemed to be the most affected by what happened.....some of the others just diddnt seem to give a shit like jason newstead, they might as well have not even showed his...he just sounded like he couldnt care less
4:00 Rex Brown seriously needs to get to a dentist and get that janky grill of his sorted out. He's starting to look like Eddie Van Halen used to...before he got the implants. lol
Rip Lemmy
Why the fuck are these emo BvB's here? Thats an insult to Hanneman
Haha inr
Haha inr

Jason Newsted said it the best.🤘🏿🤘🏼🤘
Right!
BVB being there should be illegal
Bvb are posers.
Black Veil Brides are decent guys. They acknowledge why people hate them, and made it clear they don't give a shit. Not their fault 14 year old girls adore them. Lol you took the words right outta my mouth man >.< and btw not all girls are 14 yrs old that likes them...im 25 yrs old and i adore them
The Bay Area thrash bands and their fans gave the glam bands (e.g. the bands that dressed up like Poison, Motley Crue etc) a fucking ton of shit in the 1980s. Jeff Hanneman, the songwriter of Angel of DEATH..Hail SSSSSSSSLAYER!
I really liked the way both Jason Newstead and Rob Zombie carried themselves, with an honest dignity that really struck a chord. Some of the newer bands out there seemed like they were too into themselves.

"Jeff Hanneman? Uuue eeuue ueueu ee aauu suuue uaueuea. Nnnaeuu ufueeau ua uuduauuae uae. He ueua faenytheen." -Lemmy Kilmister
I had to look them up after this video. 22 and 23 year old kids who started listening to Slayer in High School? In other words, they only heard of them in the 2000's and all the other guys saw them LIVE in the early 80's. That says it all right there.
We miss you Jeff
Metal wont be the same without your creativity.
i wonder how high sid is
Am I the only one that muted Black veil brides? Their voices were fucking annoying without screaming. Oh wait, whining*
Hanneman will ALWAYS be in my heart and mind.He pulled out the vicious riffs that commanded my attention.he didn't have that "look at me i'm a rockstar attitude".GOD bless you Jeff R.I.P GUITARBROTHER.
BVB doesn't deserve to talk about him
true
Agreed, its a blasphmy
Holy shit man shut the fuck up. Just cause you don't like them or they don't play "metal" doesn't mean they can't like and respect Jeff. Jeff all around was an amazing artist, respected by many people of different genres and subgenres. so BVB can admire him, you are fucking ridiculous if you don't believe so

You want to remember Jeff Hanneman...ask the fans, the real fans, the people who put Slayer on the top of the world, we the public!

lauren gallagher sure dumbass defend talentless dipshits
A year later and I am still trying to figure out why.
lauren gallagher lol is he in arena selling metal band? no. So why would 2majestic be invited lol? BVB doesn't sell out arenas. They can BARELY make a warped tour ticket.

i first discovered slayer back in 84 was privailaged to see slayer three time my all time fave band

R.I.P. Jeff Metal lost one of the greats jam with Dio and Dimebag. Also Rex Brown reminds me now of Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
I miss you already man, thanks for my brutal soundtrack growing up.BRUTALIZE THE SPIRIT WORLD JEFF!!!
What the hell is up with the black veil brides hate? They are giving their words, and Andy said 'slayer will be in rock/metal history forever' and if you don't like bvb then just go to the part where it doesn't have bvb, plain and simple as that
RIP Jeff. You were a fucking kick ass guitarist, and the metal world will miss you...
Incredibly enough, Sebastian's Bach tribute was the most heartfelt.
That is Dimebag's girl at 4:05
we need subtitles of lemmy's speech :D
He was talking about how we should keep in mind those who were close to Jeff rather than just focus on how it effects us. Quite a selfless thing to say.
Got to see Slayer couple summers ago it was with Gary Holt but my favorite part of the entire trip was in the hotel when i was waking back up to my room at 2am and all i heard was SLAYERRRR!!!!!!!
R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman... Your legacy will live forever!
It's Josh Rand, guitarist in Stone Sour.
Disturbed front man said it best!!! All meant well but well said!!!
I saw Slayer in the late 80s in Winnipeg.. Metallica opened for them.. I'm still deaf and its 2013.
BTW - Who is the black-haired chick in the background 09:45?
What a hottie
Rita Lowery, John5's wife.
Bewbs

Jeff is South of Heaven Reigning in Blood... RIP
RIP Jeff
Slayer will be back
His name is Chuck Billy, if you like Slayer, Testament might also appeal to you, you should listen to it if you find some time :)
why are all of these elitists in the comment section whining about Black Veil Brides talking about Jeff Hanneman. sure, they’re not as heavy as Slayer, but this video is about missing Jeff, not about comparing both bands. as long as they miss him, it’s all that matters.
Black Veil Brides are not fucking worthy! R.I.P JEFF!
Sebastian Bach speaks the truth... it's sad that the heavy metal lifestyle includes heavy drinking and drugs. That's mainly the reason why we loose so many talented musicians... it's sad, but I guess that's juste the way it is.
RIP Jeff Hanneman
As Napalm Death would say..
.And when the bubble bursts, exposing your selfish crap.
You'll cry for sympathy, we'll just sit back and laugh.
RIP JH

Reing In Peace Jeff! \m/
what is the creature at 6:40 ?
anybody actually concentrate on what rob zombie was saying?.
Jeff Hanneman will always Reign.
R.I.P.
Time can be a nasty thing...this is the first time that I have noticed Phil has really began to age as well
I was going to see him this summer, now I never will :(
If you watched carefully you'd have heard Dave Draiman say Condolences to Jeff's family
please change the thumbnail picture
Who's the pittbull dude hangn with C. Taylor?
Jason Newsted was in Flotsam and Jetsam, from their humble beginnings, so he was a heavy weight long before his Metallica heydays.
RIP Jeff...
5:10michael jackson!!!
not michael Jackson that is Ashley Prudy from Black Veil Brides
Sebastian Bach looks really sad. He's a cool dude. Rest in peace Jeff...
Why 12 dislikes?? Who does not love Jeff??
R.I.p.Jeff hanneman
Speaking of which, why hasn't anyone really spoken out from the Slayer camp on the passing of Jeff? I don't mean the 30 second toast from Kerry. I mean a REAL tribute from the actual bandmates??
Why are the Suicide Silence dudes on helium?
Jeff's death - it's sad...
whos the chick in the white at 9:41 ?
I'll be honest...I like BVB's music, but that's the only thing i like about them. They do NOT belong in RGG, they have not deserved it by a looooooong shot, So i agree with you...
Bvb is here because they like jeff. Are you seriously, as metalheads, gonna tell someone not to like metal? Does it really matter who it is?
Lmao first time a reply gets more likes than a sympathy comment. And I can see why
Metal is very clanish and tribal, sadly. Especially old school metal and *especially* Slayer fans.
Chuck Billy looks like the emo version of Gary Shandling.
🤣🤣🤣
Tom Araya (Slayer's vocalist), is Catholic.
So what's your point?
That's Sid from Slipknot, aka DJ Starscream
We get what you're saying, but some of these bands are not Metal.
I don't particularly care for them, but it's good that they pay homage to him
Sid Wilson seems to be high as fuck..................... Like allways' ... i love that dude'
It's Chuck Billy dude xD But you're right :D
Rip!
Show some respect for Chuck!! :)
everyone wants to hide how high they look with sun glasses, but not zakk!
shit I bet sid eyes' are completely red you probably couldn't see any white

4:50 corey taylor
Black Veil Brides ugh...i don't even know what to say. And they clearly are not qualified to give answer to the question asked.
god, these sunglasses
what the hell does Whitney Houston has to do with Jeff hanneman and metal?????
No one and I mean NO ONE was faster and more hardcore than Discharge who were around since 1977.
COREY TAYLORS GOT A SLAYER SHIRT ON!!!
.....continued.....so many metal heads don't know music history.
I reckon Jeff would have smiled to himself hearing all the 'God Bless' daft comments.
I'm sure they meant well but...really. Ha ha.
4:05 Dimebags girl
They have no business being in the same area as all the other TRUE metal bands that were there that night (with exception to GQ Metallica light).
yeah he seemed to be the most affected by what happened.....some of the others just diddnt seem to give a shit like jason newstead, they might as well have not even showed his...he just sounded like he couldnt care less
hear the sound of the bell, counting off death tolls. . . live undead
5:58 what the Beep is Pitbull doing there?! :D
Yeah, I think that Rob and David Draiman sent the most humane messages, while others were mostly sort of selfish.
Black veil brides..... Are you fucking serious?
chuck billy is the more talented one though, in my opinion :P his voice is just perfect
Yes but unlike BVB Slayer stated they wanted the manly makeup something obviously BVB overlooked so yeah.
Rip Jeff on a side note does anyone else think that Rex Brown from Plantera looked like crap, is he sick or something
4:00 Rex Brown seriously needs to get to a dentist and get that janky grill of his sorted out. He's starting to look like Eddie Van Halen used to...before he got the implants. lol
Savage 🤘
nah dude he says 'slayer being one of the forefathers'
Yeah, but that's Rob Zombie's girl at 9:40! I'd take Sherri Moon any-day!
