400 primos is AT LEAST 40 chests, and that's if you only get exquisite and luxurious ones. It could take as much as 200 basic chests, so I won't complain about an extra 400 primos just from exploring
This tells you more about how little primos you actually get for opening chests than anything really. I'm glad they are adding more Primos to incentivize playing the recent content though. The little bonus gives you a push to actually play the content.
My favorite QoL is definitely the Crafting Bench. I have a 3 second memory when trying to remember what to craft! Genshin's custom artifact filtering definitely took a page from HSR's filtering scheme, so progress is progress.
I go on no life mode when new regions or stories hit and explore almost everything. I had at least 80% exploration on each new area of Natlan within a week. Exploring is such a great part of the game
exploring is fun when the region is new. the more explored it is, the more annoying it gets to do. i love exploring 0% areas, but i hate exploring 60+% areas without a compass.
i have to intentionally stop myself from exploring the new areas because i won't have anything else to do once i get new characters. Like right now i'm waiting for Xilonen so that i can skate around.
Same I’m currently doing Fontaine whole region exploration from past few days and will complete in few more days, I usually do exploration after the archon quest and no good updates because just to play and not get bored
You know what would be a WONDERFUL Quality of life change??? Removing required days of the week OFF of domains! Why do i need to wait till a certain day of the week to farm character materials??? They already have horrible time gates on resin! Then they release a new end game system that requires leveling different characters to make it even worse!!
No keep it. It's the only thing giving me a semblance of organization for how to build multiple characters. If 3 use the same day, I can decide between those vs a weapon as resin for the day. HSR I'm locked in decision paralysis since everything is an option always.
@@amandaslough125 I would make a plan - 1. level character to 80-90 2. level weapon to 90 3. level required talents to 8,9 or 10 if you like character 4. farm artifacts
Its a very outdated feature on the domains. It made sense in the early days when we had a smaller roster and to monitor account progression, but nowadays with so many characters and definitely the push towards horizontal investment, it needs to go. HSR and ZZZ dont have day limitations so the restiction isnt even a hoyo trademark. Its an outdated regulation.
@@squeektheweek6949 even then, the limit is not that low, to have that many usable (with good substats) artifacts is not something I've seen as of yet. If that was the case, the account owner would have near perfect builds for every character. And unless that is the case, strongbox and using the bad/mediocre pieces for levelling up the good ones is always a good option.
I love exploring. The problem is that doing it right requires a substantial block of time that most people just don't have, when you also add in the daily resin farming, limited time events, story quests, and the daily grind for materials outside of domains just to build your characters. My account is 13 months old, and I have only explored Monstadt, Liuye, and Inazuma to completion. Offering 400 primos to explore Natlan ahead of the other regions I still have to do feels like the game is punishing me rather than rewarding me. I want rewards to CATCH UP, not to feel compelled to rush ahead. Fully agree that we need more gem drops. Newer accounts struggling to catch up with the meta never have enough resin to farm the insane number of gems they need to build up their roster.
You don't need to rush tho? I mean those primos are a bless for a veteran player who allready clear all content and want to pull new characters, in your case you have so much free content to clear that you shouldn't be worried about primos tbh. Like with all limited content you are losing 1-2 multis as much, also Natlan have increase permanent rewards that you will be able to claim once u reach there. I never had a complain about past improves focused on newer players since it is true that someone who start today will need to do a lot of stuff in order to catch up, however I also appreciated they think on veteran players who allready 100% al regions and all primos they can get nowadays is dailies and waiting for new content abyss/teathre resets.
So glad Hoyo is really stepping up the QOL changes. The only other major changes I’m wanting are a way to easily swap between different builds, pathing for 4-stars and 3x banners per patch. Side-note: It kinda shocks me that so many people apparently don’t explore. It’s my fave thing to do and I’ve properly 100% almost the entire map by making sure I have *every* chest/puzzle/sigil/etc. It’s super satisfying and I have over 400 f2p wishes saved as the reward 😂
I wish some of the chests would respawn. I don't like how empty the world is when all the chests are gone. I spend a lot of time re-exploring the world though. Am I alone in this? O.o
I don’t explore because the compass is trash. If they had a system like the summer events where all locations show up after like 80% exploration, I would explore all the time. But I hate knowing I don’t have 100% and will never get it unless I watch a RUclips video, so I don’t even do it.
@@IveBeenWithBrumaCompasses still don't detect any of the timed challenges or seelie in the area, and some of the hidden chests that don't spawn until you complete the puzzle are also undetected.

For me the exploration of new areas is the best part of the game, I build characters and farm artifacts while waiting for new areas. I have 2 accounts and one is finished with all released natlan exploration, and the second is about 80%
And artifact domains dropping two sets. Actually, on stuff locked behind days, they really should just simplify it down to one talent book type, one weapon mat type, one weekly boss mat type from each of those things. There's no reason to have three, other than to annoy us.
they should do this ngl, because the recent IT requires 22 characters, newbies need to build a lot more characters now so locking domains behind like the old days doesn't do it anymore
@@banjoowo4001erm, it does not matter for newbies tho. If you need to build many characters at the same time, you will go to talents domain every day anyways, if not for one character, then for another
@@Romashka_Sov people build one character and then move on to the other, building multiple characters at once isnt that easy, talent books aren't unlimited, also building multiple character at the same time isn't efficient since they also have to invest in the spiral abyss at the same time
@@banjoowo4001 there is a thing, called "planning". That's when you think ahead of time instead of doing things right away. I'll recommend this to anyone who wants to build 15 characters for IT.
Kinda wish they would just implement interactive map into the game. Really hate it when you have to tab out or watch someone's run on getting the exploration to 100% on youtube. It really kill off the immersion feeling of exploring especially when a good bunch of your pulls are from 100% maps so you're kinda forced to do that for the pulls which you will eventually burn yourself out. That's how most people ended up quitting genshin.
yup, this for sure would be the greatest quality of life improvement ever. i refuse to use guides and when regions get to 70% exploration it gets boring, so i just wait until i unlock the chest compass instead.
Honestly, I just want the treasure compass to lead me to hidden chests and any trials I've missed. Then I would happily explore, followed by using the compass to find what I missed, rather than skipping chests and such for the most part, because, if I'm going to follow a guide in the end anyway, I don't want to be following the entire guide looking for 10 chests. Basically, shouldn't need the interactive map or a guide open at all.
To me the interactive map makes exploration feel boring and like folliowing a line on the ground. Guides ruin the fun of puzzles and turn the entire thing into a big time spent doing a chore. If anything I think they should just give players treasure and anemo compasses much sooner
@@Shiftarus I don't think guides ruin puzzles. Or rather, they only ruin them if you let them. Me, I use the video guide to get me to the puzzle and pause the video, solving it myself. Then onwards with the guide. But that said, I'm 100% with you (as can be seen in my post above yours) that the compasses should be all we need to find anything we've missed.
the qol in the crafting bench showing all the materials you need to ascend a character is such a great change. i cant believe we didnt get it sooner (but im grateful we're finally getting it)
@@ferend4038 I get 36 effortlessly and have a wide array of teams well built across the board be it Wriothesley, Neuvillette, Xiao, Arle, Cyno, Alhaitham, Tighnari even. Be it them or their supports, they simply do not require numerous sets to the point I need loadouts.
nah instead how about remove flat substats?? i'd rather focus on something that has actual impact like when they lowered weapon pity. That is a real tangible change.
07:00 I think you get it wrong this is the basic filter it will save your filter preferences for example when you first get kinich you will go to filter choosing his artifact set and crits with atk, so these artifacts will be on top Normally when you finish that and close the window it will go back to pre-filter screen now it will stay saved for every individual character it is basically an artifact loadout without the other two pre-saved choices
@@JelloImpact let's say you do 2piece 2piece atk kinich, and you chose gladiator and shimenawa that have crits and atk the screen will save these artifacts the next time you open kinich's artifact screen it will show only gladiator and shimenawa sets in general with crits and atk on top that basically how it works
I think this can help a little bit. But I still have to dig through all my emblem pieces to find the right ones. And I can actually see this getting in the way of selecting my off piece since that won't be on the filtered set.
@@Honey-Buffalo you can filter the exact subs you want for your artifact, for your second point they actually addressed that there will be a one-click button to show/hide the filter screen in case you need an off piece

These QOL updates are great but MAN WHAT A TEASE! I want loadouts SO BADLY!! 😭 Anyway, thank you for breaking it down! I didn't even realize there was an update, so this made it nice and easy to get up to speed.
The only nation I actually explored was Mondstadt 😅 the puzzles are just too annoying sometimes, and it's nice finding something random in your world once in a while
I agree that a lot of Genshin players are mega entitled, when it comes to a lot of the free content the game provides, but it's not like Hoyo is a small company that cannot afford making those measly 400 units of their fake currency a permanent in-game reward. Like, people are begging for scraps here and the company's acting unreasonably stingy, and yes, Fomo is absolutely an evil business strategy that turns customers into addicts. The people behind those strategies deserve nothing but eternal hell.
Why should rewards for exploration have a time limit? Give me 1 good reason why they should not be perm. The rewards alone will make people want to play and explore you can't give 1 good reason for them not to be perm
@ItIsMeJamesE it's a way to reward people who keep updated in the game. They always give stuff made for new players. Now it's time to reward the older ones.
whats cool is that the "individual training" thing allows you to also see the materials for the equipped weapon tbh I'm doing all my progression calcs in excel sheets to avoid switching between a dozen tabs of materials and this is going to come in real handy
FRRRR I'm a Dehya main that clears spiral abyss with her because her playstyle is fun for me and i have Deepwood, Tenacity, Golden Troupe, Voroukasha's Glow, Emblem and Crimson Witch for her. It's so troublesome to switch everytime i wanna use her on diff teams but i guess it is what it is. not to mention the imaginarium theatre were i give sets to characters i dont normally use and i have to switch it back to my faves. it just takes too much time.
Love your channel! I thought the same thing when I first read ‘custom artifact filtering’ I got so excited and then was immediately disappointed… fingers crossed it’ll happen someday 🤞
I actually thought the whole obsididan ring thing they did was a huge inspiration to explore regions, but super pumped that they're also doing the limited rewards bonus too, after going through all the puzzles to unlock chests and world quests, I got re-inspired to explore other regions and try to max out the sigil trees etc. I think it's also cool to provide more resources for people who want to play Genshin for its sandbox features and not the main story.
The little teapot guy is a bit annoying like that too. I just want my coins and he has to tell me that this realm is beginning to thrive. Then, even to quit the interaction he insists on reminding me that here's here to help if I ever need anything.
Wish they gave us the exploration primos during the dry patches bc I save it for then, but now feel pressured to do otherwise. But there are rumours of no new region next patch so maybe they're trying to manage the 'dry' season by saving those new regions for then
Great changes, just hope I can see artifact loadout someday in the game, they are giving nice things we didn't know we wanted but we have been asking about it for ages.
Oh man, presets for artifact loadouts would be soooo good! I really hope they end up implementing something like that. These QoL changes are amazing too! Taking a page from HSR's book and letting us skip some of the easier Abyss floors will be nice.
I myself have been playing almost daily for two years, but i also play some Warframe, and i have a job, and a social life, and so i am only at the beginning of fontaine. Well, a little ways through anyway
Currently, I use unused characters in my roster to hold artifacts as my way to switch between two load outs. it's convenient, especially if that character isn't far off from the tab list and it will be much easier on the next QOL update as they will allow some characters to be put on a separate menu icon group.
bruh it has to be an intentional troll at this point. Genshin devs sitting around the meeting table every patch being like "OK GUYS what can we add to the artifact system this time that is sort of in the direction of loadouts but isn't loadouts and then listen to them mald about loadouts again teehee!" They've already had the exact loadouts system we want in HI3 for years so there's no way they don't know what we mean by loadouts.
Dude the most notorious example for artifact lodouts is the traveler: changing element and looking where did you put you dendro set or your geo set is pain
Like the QoL changes, but dont like that they require clearing floor 12 with full stars to be able to skip floor 9 and 10. Just clearing floor 12 should be enough to entitle us to skip floor 9 and 10.
back in the first abyss, i could clear abyss 12 before i could 3 star abyss 10. idk, i agree with them. shoot to 36 abyss 12 and skipping comes as a reward for your efforts.
Skill issue. Abyss has been easy lately, Furina, Neuvillete and Arlechino not enough for you to full star abyss? smh. Oh btw, you are able to skip at least floor 9 if you full star floor 11.
in regards to the Artifact system, to me it feels like they're incrementally adding and tweaking little things to make sure everything works correctly, and that they are in fact working towards a preset system, but not just a *manual* preset system, if that makes sense. It feels like they also want to make it possible to do fast equip presets as well as manual, so they're probably tweaking the system to such a point they won't conflict with eachother. Or something like that.
Feels like there are way fewer chests in Natlan vs. the literal thousands in earlier regions, cause I've done barely any exploring and at 40% in every area there already without even trying. Maybe their idea is fewer chests but make up the gap with these bonus gems for clearing them. Worth noting you can max rep with each tribe in a couple of weeks and you only need to get three tribes to max rep to get the pyro compass, which will make completing the 80% exploration goals much easier.
Ngl these new updates like the exploration rewards and Obisidian Rings (from Natlan chests) incentivised exploration so much more like I already have 90% of current Natlan, and only like 50% in Sumeru and Fontaine
*dead-fish eyes* Unused characters are the only loadouts we for replacing characters. Besides that, I still wish for toggling Constellations would be a game changer.
I'm not one to defend a billion dollar company, but 2 patches=12 weeks, basically 3 months. I think people would have complained less about fomo if Hoyo had *said* 3 months lol
I don't skip story/character quests or exploration, I love both of them even, but I'll continue do them at my own, highly inconsistent pace. Full clearing new content in the first week (or even month) is a quick way to burn out, so I'm not gonna stress if I don't get the new fomo primos. A free 2.5 pulls aren't worth it if you're not having fun.
As an exploration player, just doing workd quest is automatically 50% to 60% explored is just ......... Need something like the dessert, something puzzle make me losing brain cells again. That's what i called fun
as a returning player, i really wish they'd just make the exploration primos permanent, i don't really wanna rush through natlan's exploration if i haven't even explored half of sumeru
Hahaha the exploration of new areas reward update also feels targeted at folks like me that do explore but aren’t really exploring Natlan much yet. I’d get there eventually, but not until I caught up storywise or got more Natlan characters probably.
You are forgetting the gems for completing the Archon Quest That is, in certain versions you can get up to 900 gems just by playing the game Just do the Archon Quest and use the Improved Treasure Compass
The exploration data is most likely skewed by fontaine because I dont know a single person that loved the whole underwater gimmick. You couldnt even use your characters underwater and that was half of fontaine. I was so glad when we got chenyu vale
80% is fairly easy to explore if you play the game naturally and follow the "red glows". It's the last few percentages that are annoying as the obscure and hidden chests are difficult to find. Add to the nonsense of more chests that _exceed_ 100%.
I still haven’t explored any of Sumeru and I’m still at Level 1 statue of the seven lol. But Natlan I’ve almost 100%! It’s much more fun in Natlan compared to other nations which feels a bit tedious and boring tbh. I’m glad we’re getting new rewards!
Nice little qol, I like that. And I agree, gems are the most difficult thing to get in this game, sure you get one a day with dailies but it doesn't help at all. World level 9 doesn't help with that, why not increase it along with the boss drops. It's about time they align the characters with their bosses so that they give out the corresponding gems, just like in the good old days of early genshin, easier farming

maybe they could have special "respawn chests" that have harder challenges and don't count towards your exploration percentages.

Kinda wish they would just implement interactive map into the game. Really hate it when you have to tab out or watch someone's run on getting the exploration to 100% on youtube. It really kill off the immersion feeling of exploring especially when a good bunch of your pulls are from 100% maps so you're kinda forced to do that for the pulls which you will eventually burn yourself out. That's how most people ended up quitting genshin.
yup, this for sure would be the greatest quality of life improvement ever. i refuse to use guides and when regions get to 70% exploration it gets boring, so i just wait until i unlock the chest compass instead.
Honestly, I just want the treasure compass to lead me to hidden chests and any trials I've missed. Then I would happily explore, followed by using the compass to find what I missed, rather than skipping chests and such for the most part, because, if I'm going to follow a guide in the end anyway, I don't want to be following the entire guide looking for 10 chests.
Basically, shouldn't need the interactive map or a guide open at all.
To me the interactive map makes exploration feel boring and like folliowing a line on the ground.
Guides ruin the fun of puzzles and turn the entire thing into a big time spent doing a chore. If anything I think they should just give players treasure and anemo compasses much sooner
@@Shiftarus I don't think guides ruin puzzles. Or rather, they only ruin them if you let them. Me, I use the video guide to get me to the puzzle and pause the video, solving it myself. Then onwards with the guide.
But that said, I'm 100% with you (as can be seen in my post above yours) that the compasses should be all we need to find anything we've missed.

@@ferend4038 I get 36 effortlessly and have a wide array of teams well built across the board be it Wriothesley, Neuvillette, Xiao, Arle, Cyno, Alhaitham, Tighnari even. Be it them or their supports, they simply do not require numerous sets to the point I need loadouts.
nah instead how about remove flat substats?? i'd rather focus on something that has actual impact like when they lowered weapon pity. That is a real tangible change.

You can convert artifacts to artifact XP now, as of 5.0.
It's somewhere in the artifact tab of the invintory

"Trash" button is what i expect they'll add one day. Grading artifacts in 3 tiers (great, fine, bad) is much better than just mark them as good or bad

this is the basic filter it will save your filter preferences for example when you first get kinich you will go to filter choosing his artifact set and crits with atk, so these artifacts will be on top
Normally when you finish that and close the window it will go back to pre-filter screen now it will stay saved for every individual character
it is basically an artifact loadout without the other two pre-saved choices
you still have to equip each of them though right? that's the annoying part

the screen will save these artifacts the next time you open kinich's artifact screen it will show only gladiator and shimenawa sets in general with crits and atk on top

I think this can help a little bit. But I still have to dig through all my emblem pieces to find the right ones. And I can actually see this getting in the way of selecting my off piece since that won't be on the filtered set.

there will be a one-click button to show/hide the filter screen in case you need an off piece
This update is good, I'm glad they're actively changing little things that make a HUGE difference in saving our time.

I totally agree. We absolutely need an option to save artifacts presets, but all the new improvements are nice, and we welcome them :)

I agree that a lot of Genshin players are mega entitled, when it comes to a lot of the free content the game provides, but it's not like Hoyo is a small company that cannot afford making those measly 400 units of their fake currency a permanent in-game reward. Like, people are begging for scraps here and the company's acting unreasonably stingy, and yes, Fomo is absolutely an evil business strategy that turns customers into addicts. The people behind those strategies deserve nothing but eternal hell.
Why should rewards for exploration have a time limit? Give me 1 good reason why they should not be perm. The rewards alone will make people want to play and explore you can't give 1 good reason for them not to be perm

whats cool is that the "individual training" thing allows you to also see the materials for the equipped weapon
tbh I'm doing all my progression calcs in excel sheets to avoid switching between a dozen tabs of materials and this is going to come in real handy
FRRRR I'm a Dehya main that clears spiral abyss with her because her playstyle is fun for me and i have Deepwood, Tenacity, Golden Troupe, Voroukasha's Glow, Emblem and Crimson Witch for her. It's so troublesome to switch everytime i wanna use her on diff teams but i guess it is what it is. not to mention the imaginarium theatre were i give sets to characters i dont normally use and i have to switch it back to my faves. it just takes too much time.

I actually thought the whole obsididan ring thing they did was a huge inspiration to explore regions, but super pumped that they're also doing the limited rewards bonus too, after going through all the puzzles to unlock chests and world quests, I got re-inspired to explore other regions and try to max out the sigil trees etc. I think it's also cool to provide more resources for people who want to play Genshin for its sandbox features and not the main story.

Wish they gave us the exploration primos during the dry patches bc I save it for then, but now feel pressured to do otherwise. But there are rumours of no new region next patch so maybe they're trying to manage the 'dry' season by saving those new regions for then

Oh man, presets for artifact loadouts would be soooo good! I really hope they end up implementing something like that. These QoL changes are amazing too! Taking a page from HSR's book and letting us skip some of the easier Abyss floors will be nice.

Currently, I use unused characters in my roster to hold artifacts as my way to switch between two load outs. it's convenient, especially if that character isn't far off from the tab list and it will be much easier on the next QOL update as they will allow some characters to be put on a separate menu icon group.
bruh it has to be an intentional troll at this point. Genshin devs sitting around the meeting table every patch being like "OK GUYS what can we add to the artifact system this time that is sort of in the direction of loadouts but isn't loadouts and then listen to them mald about loadouts again teehee!" They've already had the exact loadouts system we want in HI3 for years so there's no way they don't know what we mean by loadouts.
Maybe next they'll add real loadouts, but the kicker is that you can't assign the same artifact to more than one. 🤡
It's intentional. Tbh QOL of many games are intentionally delayed as long as the people play the game.
Genshin ArtIfact Loadouts has the same energy as the Valorant replay system.
Dude the most notorious example for artifact lodouts is the traveler: changing element and looking where did you put you dendro set or your geo set is pain

Like the QoL changes, but dont like that they require clearing floor 12 with full stars to be able to skip floor 9 and 10. Just clearing floor 12 should be enough to entitle us to skip floor 9 and 10.
back in the first abyss, i could clear abyss 12 before i could 3 star abyss 10. idk, i agree with them. shoot to 36 abyss 12 and skipping comes as a reward for your efforts.
Skill issue. Abyss has been easy lately, Furina, Neuvillete and Arlechino not enough for you to full star abyss? smh.
Oh btw, you are able to skip at least floor 9 if you full star floor 11.

in regards to the Artifact system, to me it feels like they're incrementally adding and tweaking little things to make sure everything works correctly, and that they are in fact working towards a preset system, but not just a *manual* preset system, if that makes sense. It feels like they also want to make it possible to do fast equip presets as well as manual, so they're probably tweaking the system to such a point they won't conflict with eachother. Or something like that.

Feels like there are way fewer chests in Natlan vs. the literal thousands in earlier regions, cause I've done barely any exploring and at 40% in every area there already without even trying. Maybe their idea is fewer chests but make up the gap with these bonus gems for clearing them. Worth noting you can max rep with each tribe in a couple of weeks and you only need to get three tribes to max rep to get the pyro compass, which will make completing the 80% exploration goals much easier.
They literally have the exact loadout system we want in HI3, idk what's stopping them from adding it to their other games

Ngl these new updates like the exploration rewards and Obisidian Rings (from Natlan chests) incentivised exploration so much more like I already have 90% of current Natlan, and only like 50% in Sumeru and Fontaine

I don't skip story/character quests or exploration, I love both of them even, but I'll continue do them at my own, highly inconsistent pace. Full clearing new content in the first week (or even month) is a quick way to burn out, so I'm not gonna stress if I don't get the new fomo primos. A free 2.5 pulls aren't worth it if you're not having fun.

Just wish they made the compass show trials and other puzzles that spawn the chest after completion. Makes in game region completion very rough.
Hahaha the exploration of new areas reward update also feels targeted at folks like me that do explore but aren’t really exploring Natlan much yet. I’d get there eventually, but not until I caught up storywise or got more Natlan characters probably.
You are forgetting the gems for completing the Archon Quest
That is, in certain versions you can get up to 900 gems just by playing the game
Just do the Archon Quest and use the Improved Treasure Compass
If they get these custom filters right, they could be BETTER than loadouts, because they would adapt when better pieces become available.
The exploration data is most likely skewed by fontaine because I dont know a single person that loved the whole underwater gimmick. You couldnt even use your characters underwater and that was half of fontaine. I was so glad when we got chenyu vale
We still need a treasure compass for enkanomia and dragonspine. Those places are huge.
80% is fairly easy to explore if you play the game naturally and follow the "red glows". It's the last few percentages that are annoying as the obscure and hidden chests are difficult to find. Add to the nonsense of more chests that _exceed_ 100%.
I still haven’t explored any of Sumeru and I’m still at Level 1 statue of the seven lol. But Natlan I’ve almost 100%! It’s much more fun in Natlan compared to other nations which feels a bit tedious and boring tbh. I’m glad we’re getting new rewards!

Nice little qol, I like that. And I agree, gems are the most difficult thing to get in this game, sure you get one a day with dailies but it doesn't help at all. World level 9 doesn't help with that, why not increase it along with the boss drops.
It's about time they align the characters with their bosses so that they give out the corresponding gems, just like in the good old days of early genshin, easier farming
