In this video, I'll be teaching you how to put custom firmware on your PS Vita/PS TV in quite possibly the easiest way I've ever seen, and it can all be done on the device itself! No computer needed, and no special firmware required!

My god man... You are the bees knees! THANK YOU! after 10 years of my launch 3g Vita having a broken screen, your easy to follow guides have inspired me to finally fix it and mod it. There are many other tutorials out there but you sir, are the only one iv seen to break it down simply and also go above and beyond on how to use the sd2vita, use the applications, and install everything. So finally, I can enjoy my $400 handheld again.

Only problems I ran into was I did it with my 64gb memory card chock full off apps so I had the max 100 bubbles that the vita can display at once.
This prevented the Vita deploy app bubble and the Vitashell ITS installer bubbles as well so if anyone is in my position wipe 5 or so bubbles so they can generate when rebooting since alot of the times these processes rebuild your database and all your bubbles will be randomly sorted which sucks balls upon reloading.
To anyone getting the 0x80010005 error message when copying over the files which I was getting.
Use the FULL install of YAMT instead of the LITE version and make sure to keep the screen on.
Yep! That means no idling to dim screen or even screen off. It has to stay on which I managed to do by holding my vita with my thumb on the screen at all times so it senses touch whilst watching a movie and YT since copying over 64gb takes over 5 hours.

I followed ur intructions, and after updating the system, it removed everything including vita deploy. I lost all my games, and i cant see vita deploy in the home screen. How can I fix it?

Just purchased a vita for the first time (1000 series) with an 8gb Sony memory card. Is it advisable to not jailbreak using this card and go the sd2vita route? With a 1000 series if you swap out the memory card do you lose your jailbreak? Sorry if these are noob questions just trying to understand the optimal path.

Kick ass info. Debating on doing this to my 2000 model tonight. Curious as to how much free space needed to install all these mods. I know I can just download games I own again, but I have a 64gig card damn near full, and an empty 8gig. Looking into the adapter now. Awesome vids 👍

Hello, can anyone help. After typing the link on the browser it opens up then HENlo, I click on unlock my vita and gives me and error that could not corrupt the JSArray
I got the same thing too but I'm afraid to even proceed to unlock my vita
@@andresrodriguez488 Ok, so I solved it. Basically I closed all the tabs in the browser then closed the app fully and reopened and typed the link and it worked perfectly! Hope this helps you.
Is it possible to upgrade my memory card after installing everything or do I have to stick with the card now?

Same here been trying the last few hours
I need to point out that it will not download vitashell if you don't have the storage to download it. Also, If it fails and you do have the storage, try to reboot the ps vita and try to download it once more. You have to reboot after each try.

No, that should be enough to put it on custom firmware, but I definitely recommend getting an SD2Vita soon!

No worries!
Regular ps vita memory cards are tied to their respective system and will auto format if it's placed in a new ps vita. Sd2vita shoulde NEVER be removed from the system after its set up.
As long as you spoof your firmware to the latest firmware in the Henkaku settings, you will be able to use your ps vita online as normal.

Good morning! Please explain further so I can help a lot better. What firmware are you on? Are you on temporary or permanent custom firmware? What is the error code that popped up? Did you remove the SD2VITA at any point in time? In most cases, if a ps vita is left I'm standby mode for a very long time, a reboot of the ps vita will fix a lot of the issues you're having.

Since you are already on 3.65, please go to the website mentioned in the video and on the vita deploy app, there is an app Downloader section and an enso app to download. Since you are already on 3.65, it should install normally. I also highly recommend checking out my older video on vitashell to make sure that everything is set up right. This new method of putting your ps vita on custom firmware resolves a lot of the issues people have had in the past.

So after everything and pkgj and adrenaline I downloaded 2 games went to open one of the games and now my screen froze and I tried to restart it and now it’s just showing a losing symbol and flashing a green light. What can I do to fix this ?
Hold the power button until it fully shuts off and turn it on again. It sounds like the PS Vita was just left in standby mode for a long time.

I'm on the same permanent 3.60 firmware then you with your other psvita for years.
Is there any advantage in the new 3.65 CFW and VitaDeploy?
Honestly, if you are on 3.60 enso permanent custom firmware (one of my ps vita are as well, then you can already do a lot of everything. The real benefit to the new 3.65 enso is that it's easy to set up, including setting up the vita homebrew browser, PKGJ, the SD2VITA and Adrenaline. However, I would 100% not touch anything and keep it on 3.60 if you have an sd2vita set up already. Its kind of an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" situation lol.

Hey, love the video - but what may be a dumb question. I have a 1000 which I just purchased and love it. If I mod it to play emulators, specifically some older PSP games, can I continue to play original Vita carts? I've read different things online, so want to be sure if it's worth it.
I have a couple PSPs, so I'm not sure if I want to lose the ability to play regular games if I happen to pick one up.

Having a 1000 come's with it's own challenges. I'm speaking from experience because that's my main ps vita. To put it on custom firmware, you do need an official sony memory card, and the size of that will depend on how many games you can have on it. game carts are a plus, but if you plan on installing an sd2vita for more storage, those game carts are basically useless to you unless you plan on dumping the game carts and putting them on the sd2vita afterwards, which is also a plus. I have a 200gb micro sd card inside of my 1000's sd2vita, and that's plenty of room for everything i needed, and that card specifically is around $20. I would go that route, and all the videos on my channel will teach you how to do that aside from dumping games from a cartridge, that video still needs to be made lol.

You absolutely can yes. Please watch this video and then go to the video on my channel that teaches you how to install PKGJ and Adrenaline. As long as you follow all the steps in this video and the other video I recommended, you will not loose any of your data and you will be able to get Tokyo Xanadu

At 8:15 in the video while in the bootstrap menu, did you also install Vitadeploy as well? If not, you can still go to the website mentioned in the video straight on your ps vita and do so.

Anybody else get the contents of their memory card corrupted? I had to redownload vitadeploy too. Is it possible some stuff changed between now and when this vid was first made? (Also I’m using PSTV)
Do you use Autoplugin 2 at all? I have the double tap issue with Adrenaline and I was told Autoplugin 2 has a fix but I'm not seeing any newer videos about it. Didn't know if you recommend it or if you have a better solution?

Absolutely! As long as you spoof your firmware to the latest firmware.
Quick question - if I sign into the psn on a fresh device before hacking, and play any items obtained via pkgj, will any trophies earned synch with the psn correctly, or are those incompatible with running cfw?

You can download games yes, but only the ones that are on the PS Vita and the emulators for it, as well as the homebrew games. GTA 5 and other games like that can only be played through remote play.
What if my vita has 3.65, bought it like that. Can I still go about this like normal?
Update: Just tried it myself and it works flawlessly without updating to 3.74, so if youre currently on 3.65 stay on it and when you install the cfw it will just reinstall the enso version perfectly. I think there is maybe 1 or 2 more confirmation pages this way you just gotta accept tho

You have enough to install custom firmware, but I would definitely get an sd2vita in the future. 8gb will only hold about 5-12 games depending on the file sizes.
If you hack the ps vita can you still use the remote play with the ps4?
You absolutely can! As long as you're spoofing to the latest firmware on you ps vita and both the ps vita and ps4 are signed into the same account!
The only problem i have is having to hard restart because the app I'm trying to open refuses to do so creating a endless loop of trying to open

Great vid I noticed when you mentioned you were glad you didn't have a tai folder in the other ux0. What happens if you do?

@jonathandavis3308 I explained it a lot better in my Vitashell video. The purpose of a Tai folder is to house all plugins and the custom firmware itself, and having conflicting Tai folders will result in you ps vita either not working right or crashing.

For some reason, now that I have Vita DB downloaded as well as iTLS-Enso and Save Manager - it is telling me to update them. however, when I click on update, it takes me to Vita DB and just says installation failed....
If it's telling you to update it from the initial screen (From when you click on the bubble from the home menu and it says "Start the application", you do not update. Never click on that update button on any custom firmware application. If it's telling you to update it while already in the application and it's failing, it's most likely the internet connection.

Try to reboot your ps vita and try again. Sometimes it will freeze on the bootstrap menu.

Try to reboot and start the process again. Most of the time a reboot will fix the issue.

How much storage do you have on your ps vita? If you are using a ps vita 1000, you need a memory card. Check out 2:53

Yup! You're already good to go! If you would like, I highly recommend searching up Vita deploy and downloading the latest apk to follow along with the next tutorials coming out!
My vita was downloading the 3.65 and it turned off on me and it won’t turn on but the little light is on!

Can you show how to get a Vita theme the custom theme once hacked doesn't work anymore they shut it down. Do you know another way to get a ps Vita. If you do can you make a video on it
Thats been something I've been researching in my spare time. The database for custom things got deleted and they don't want to fix it (which is understandable), but I'm working on reaching out to that team personally to see if I can try to help. As of right now though, no updates.
