If you want to look deeper into it since its the 100th episode, you could say the three bens are meant to represent the three shows we've had up until that point. Regular Ben for UA, Sensitive Ben for AF, and Rude Ben for Classic.
@@quantumsurge7250 most people say it represents Alien X's three personality. The rude Ben is Bellicus, sensitive Ben is Serena, and regular Ben is just Ben.
When i first saw this, i hated the fact that Ben could do it, because it just meant that everytime that he had to choose between Julie or Hero Work, that didn't matter because of this, and it wasn't a power-up that he just got, it seems he had it since the Ultimatrix.
You also gotta remember, Gwen said that Julie's match starts in THREE hours. And beating the Forever Knights needs like five minutes, and that's being very generous. I also absolutely agree with what you said, Ben could have easily sent Rude Ben to Kevin and Kind Ben to Julie. And he also had the option of just inviting Julie to the Sumo Slammers movie AFTER her match. And I never understood why couldn't the Ben Trio just all transform into three Lodestars. Also, I always wondered about whether Ben can use the duplication trick all the time or if it was just another one of the Ultimatrix's endless glitches.
I love UA, but I gotta admit ... this episode just isn't it. If it weren't for the fantastic Rath sequence and the interactions between Ben and Kevin, this would have been my least favorite episode of the show. For him being able to clone himself using Echo Echo, I think this is just a glitch in the Ultimatrix, seeing as it's a faulty version made by Albedo instead of Azmuth
You know, when I was a kid, I used to really like this episode, mainly because of Ben duplicating himself and that final battle in the end, but now, as I have gotten older, I can understand why people hate this episode. I still think this episode is cool, though, mainly because of the duplication thing.
This is one of the episodes i watched the most as a kid, and i still kinda like it. it's a shame It's like this, tho. it didn't need to be the 100th episode. Also, fun fact: the 100th episode in airing order (or production order, i don't remember) was actually Escape From Aggregor.
Such a cool idea, such wasted potential. I feel like it could've been an awesome upgrade for combat but also a downside that takes a toll on his mental and adds some authentic drama. I've seen some people saying that he should've used this as a way to focus on heroing more while also having more time with his hobbies, but I'd like to take that a step further. I feel like it should be an example of how Ben *can't* use his alien powers to solve his human problems. I feel like if one clone was just fighting all the time that would get exhausting, and if one was just lazing around/goofing off all the time they'd get listless. "So just have them take shifts" I hear you say. Even then, each clone has no way of knowing what the other knows, so they'd have to reconvene periodically to collect what all of them know into one Ben. And *even then*, I'm sure repeatedly splitting his conscience up, sending them out for god knows how long, and then recombining and having to find space in his mind for like 10+ times the information you had before would take a toll on Ben. Not to mention the more clones he makes, the less of the original Ben is in there, and the more hyper-focused on one aspect of him it gets, so some might start going rogue, and now that's another problem he has to deal with. It's not that he couldn't or shouldn't use this ability, just that he'd have to learn how to be careful with it and when there is and isn't an appropriate time for it. Ultimately I feel like that's kinda the message the episode was going for, but it just fell flat. This really would've benefited from being a whole arc rather than just an episode.
5:14 if I was in Ben's position I would either do two scenarios with or without cloning myself. A. Take down the forever knights before the match come back 3 hours later and watch the movie after the tournament. Or B. I'll maybe start to clone myself into 3 and if the clones have my split personality like Ben's did I'll switch their positions. Or if I just split myself into two the personalities would be well-balanced
Yet another example of an episode I LOVED as a kid but when I later saw breakdowns of it I realized how many flaws it had. Still, I can't shake the fact that I loved this episode so much lmao. The interaction between "compassionate Ben" and Kevin makes me laugh to this day. I always wondered if Ben could turn into different aliens through his Echo Echo and Ditto clones and this episode finally made it come true. Real shame they NEVER tried it again. The only downside was that his personality got split as well. It didn't look like his power got split. Imagine an episode where Ben has to communicate and find a way to work well together with his other Ben clones.
i love the edits and cutaways in this video and your videos in general. i can show this to my friend w no context and get them to binge ben 10 because of it. thanks for having ur own spin on reviews 🙌🏽 keep em comin g!
Fun fact: the layout established in this episode between the theatre, stadium and museum is consistent with Catfight and Vreedlemania in Omniverse. I dunno why they paid so much attention to that specifically.
While "Duped" is very frustrating of an episode, I would go for "Eye of the Beholder" being the worst episode because it legit was such a nothing episode that it was the only episode that I forgot the existence of. At least "Duped" is unforgettable.
Honestly I hate this episode less then most just because I think it’s kinda funny how literally none of these problems exist until Ben decides to make them so With that being said definitely still close to the bottom of my rewatch list
The ONLY GOOD Things I Love about that Episode is another Rath Moment (OBVS) and even though it was ONLY for This Episode and failed, it was still interesting to see This Idea of Ben duplicating and having the duplicates change into different aliens & teaming up. Imagining with practice, would do Awesome Combos
I wonder was this actually made to be the 100th episode Because Ben 10 as a franchise has one of the worst Episode production to air date ratio I've ever seen
If nice ben went with Gwen and ride ben went with Kevin that would’ve led to no story, seeing nice Ben with Kevin as a kid was the funniest thing ever, also seeing rude ben be crazy at the game was mad funny, that decision was for the best it made some funny moments
As a newcomer to Ben 10, I f'in hated this episode too! Ben done pissed me off throughout the entirety of it and it's shitty how he feels very little remorse for his treatment of Julie even at the end. It's also the fact that he didn't send his OG self to watch Julie's match- he cared more about a stupid movie than his girlfriend's happiness. Also, his complete oversight on which Ben to send where also shows how little he cares about Julie.
I feel like all of this could have been avoid if ben just stayed at the tournament while gwen and kevin go deal with the forever knights or deal with them at the 3 hour break
I had no idea this was the 100th ep till like last year, it doesn't feel like it really tries to use that fact much and probably because it was so early in Ultimate Alien, it just read as showcasing new norms(Ben and celebrity) rather than trying to be something bigger for the franchise.
This episode is hated ?? I loved the episode, one of my absolute favourites. It shows Ben exploring the possibilities with the omnitrix, and this is such a huge deal in terms of what tools are at his disposal.
4:26 He didn’t know he just decided to test out if he could 4:28 At the end of the episode he fumbled badly in a fight and got scolded for his actions. I’m not shocked that he stopped doing this especially since this man has way too much free time in UA and OV and isn’t placed in situations where he needs to multitask 5:25 It isn’t obvious because the Bens think they’re all the same person so Ben 1 or Ben 2 switching wouldn’t be something important to them because they weren’t aware of the split divided personalities
I love this episode as it's the best representation of Ben's character. Not only do we see Ben, but we fully get to explore the other sides of him. We've always known Ben could be a jerk, and this episode shows that it's not just Ben wanting to be mean, but literally part of his personality. He can't help himself when he hurts people because he isn't trying to hurt people; that's just who he is. It also shows just how kind-hearted Ben is. This episode perfectly shows just how complex of a character Ben is because he's literally three different characters in one.
what I hated about this episode is Gwen being such a virtue-signaling control freak ! she wants everyone to do things her way or else. Kevin turned to a simp ever since he hooked up with Gwen; he's always scared to do anything that Gwen didn't approve. I'm not against supporting family/friends in certain events but no one must stop what they're doing to show up for them immediately. Julie is an adult but apparently she can't function without constant validation from her boyfriend; she knows that Ben is a celebrity crime fighter and yet, she is annoyed when he acts like one. she reminds of Raimi's MJ who goes into depression when nobody talks to her for five minutes. to be clear, I'm not with ignoring friends/family for a movie, I'm against making everything about somebody at the cost of adult responsibility and personal life
I understand why people don't like this episode and I can even agree with some things, such as the mote egotistical/rude Ben who referred to himself as "Ben Classic" should have gone with Kevin to fight the Forever Knights while sensitive Ben stayed behind and watched Julie's match. However, I refuse to agree that Ben 10 made a scene when he arrived late to Julie's game. That to me is just an excuse people make to further justify their hatred of this episode. But compare his arrival to how Ben Classic acts throughout the tennis match, Ben got there and somebody took his picture without asking Ben, then he signed one autograph and waved at the crowd before sitting down. That isn't causing a scene!
Agree he can't control how the crowd acts when there's a celebrity but he still could've said sorry to Julie and I think he should've and would've if this was alien force season 1 or 2
I think what gets me the most mad about Duped past “wow this concept is kinda cool, shame the execution sucked and they never used it again for a better episode” is a general thing of where some people think Julie was the problem in Ben’s relationship-yes I’ve seen people like this, two of which in RUclips video formate no less-when this episode reflects perfectly why most of the problems with the relationship was Ben. I understand the conflict of him choosing between seeing Julie’s game or going to stop the knights but the movie plot point was just so selfish as he could’ve just went after it was all over! They give Ben such inconsequential things to care about sometimes and even when it’s actually a dire situation, he just handles it so poorly that it amazes me that it took Omniverse for them to break up in a flashback oppose to them breaking up near the end of Ultimate Alien. (And quiet honestly even if the break up scene was written terribly in OV, it was the best choice the two made for each other) So I never want to hear anyone saying “Julie sucks Ben was in the right” when she was a normal ass girl minus her pet alien who just wanted to commit to her relationship with Ben even with balancing her normal life as a tennis player but Ben treated her like ass after a point. (And I don’t hate Ben but man, he’s clearly the worser person of this relationship)
Not to mention the doofus flirts with literally every girl that isn't his girlfriend or cousin, Julie is way too forgiving to Ben he doesn't deserve her with the way he acts after alien force I can forgive his arrogance in alien force s3 since he actually cared about her a bit at that point.
When I was a kid, I liked this one a lot because this was the first time I saw a story about getting duplicates of yourself to fill-in for you and once I rewatch the show this year after so many years I was kind of hyped for it and then looking back I realised that was eh And what makes it 10 times worse is this is meant to be the 100th episode overall
This is an episode I find infuriating to watch, its Ben's personality at his worst. The only good thing I could say about this episode is that I like the concept of him using his alien's powers in his human form, but they never do anything with it again.
😡😡😡😡gosh I hate duped so much bruh everyone except Kevin and julie suck in this episode Gwen was annoying acting irrational Ben was being Ben but no redeeming qualities bruh what’s worse just switch the good copy and bad copy 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬im crashing out thinking of this episode bruh and no Ben not caring about Julie career doesn’t bother me
I know that the point of the plot of the episode, jokes and all, is based on the concept that Sensitive and Rude Bens are at the wrong places, but hear me out - since it's a 100th episode I think it would have been better idea if they made a right choice, so Sensitive Ben goes to Julie's match and Rude Ben goes with Kevin. That would let creators really flesh out positive qualities of Ben and just how cool he is (since, you know, it's 100th episode, so we should be able to celebrate him a little bit). But, you may ask, how would they later meet up to finish the episode if everything goes alright. Well, since Ben has never used that Echo Echo trick before, the Ultimatrix starts to malfunction (like slowly turn him into Echo Echo or something like that, it doesn't matter), so they have to meet up, they fight together for a while (making a better 3-alien fight scene wouldn't hurt) but eventually they have to turn into Echo Echo and become 1 person again. This way we also have an alibi for why he never does it again. I know, that my concept is basically another "Omnitrix malfunctions" episode, but I think we all agree that at this point anything would have been better than what we got (ok, I overdramatize, I don't even think it's the worst episode of Ben 10, but it's really weak one, especially for that anniversary)
I knew i wasn't the only one who hated this episode because it highlights a problem with how the show runners: A. continually brings up new concepts for the omnitrix that never got used. B. ben being teased with a new relationship just to be single and C. ben being the cause of his problems occasionally due to immaturity that’s on and off
Ok I like the premise but I would of liked it if the episodes plot was about Ben having to much to deal with so he duplicates himself to try to balance his responsibilities and the lesson can be about how to manage time for other things idk but yeah this is probably the worst episode of the show by fat
Yeah good premise bad execution here's how I would've written it with your premise "first scene is basically identical to episode with Rath defeating some forever knights but in this version he misses the match completely and Julie is visibly upset with him for missing it but tells him that "it's fine as long as he comes to the finals tomorrow" Kevin ask "did you at least capture the knights" Ben responds with "no they got away and I'm not even sure what they're after" Kevin responds with " great now we need to wait at the museum until they show up" Gwen interjects with " are you forgetting Julie's game is tomorrow Kevin, Ben can't do a stake-out with you" Ben promises Julie he'll be there on the way home he stops a couple of criminals and when he finally makes it home he collapses on the couch. When he wakes up the next day his dad talks to him "hey kiddo it's seem you're spreading yourself too thin you look tired" Ben says "I have to go to Julie's game today but also there's the forever knights who are planning on attacking the museum for whatever reason and there's countless other crimes I should be stopping and and an-" his dad interrupts him "it sounds like you need some alone time" Ben says "if only I could be in multiple places at once" dad responds with "wouldn't that be nice" Ben realizes "wait maybe I can be in multiple places at once" and rushes off he does the clone thing but sees that the two clones he made have different personalities and sends arrogant Ben to Kevin and soft Ben to the match and says "it's time I finally had some me time" and goes first for a spa treatment and then to the movies..." This already took a while if you want me to continue tell me at the moment I'm tired.
This episode wasn't amazing, but it DID show us why Echo Echo is one of Ben's most OP AND most underrated aliens. Forget any debates about Alien X, Ben doesn't need him. Go Echo Echo, duplicate as many times as you want, transform into Ben, transform into any alien you want in any amount you want. You can have an army of Way Bigs, Atomixs, Gutrots, Clockworks, etc., and Ben would be basically unstoppable. He is quite literally a one man army. (and that's not even accounting for the possibility of going Ultimate with this strategy)
No cuz I watched this episode and this has to be the most baffling episodes I've watched 😭😭 Like you said, ben splitting himself into three isn't a bad idea, but oh my god this doesn't need to be ben tennyson hate episode Everyone in that episode is a narrative black hole to paint ben in a negative light
Smh. When people rag on UA, half of the time it's the art style. The other half it's Ben at PEAK Headassery. You thought 10 year old Ben had an ego with the omnitrix, dear God he gets so much worse when that fame hits
What makes this episode worse is The possibilities with this power is insane Ben changes back now has 3 ultrmatrix and your telling me asmyth does come down and fix that shit have 3 of the most busted creation in history Ben could have used this against literally any villian in the future Just split and use all your utimates at the same time and it seems to have no drawback on the watch power so that alone means infinite power and no time outs just split hide the clones and when you time out have on come replace you
Rath's scene was the best... and then Ben decided to be the absolute unapologetically worst person in any tv show.. Why do writers and corporations think kids want to watch an egotistical brat be unabashedly awful to his girlfriend and friends for 20 minutes?? A better way to write this episode would be for Ben to rush to fight the forever Knights to make it in time for Julie's big game
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't he do something similar in the ultimate kevin arc. Where Kevin destroys echo echo and his copies and Ben has a spare copy in the trunk of his car?
i liked this episode but if you rewatch it more and more it gets worse. It is HILARIOUS though, great jokes in this episode 3:34 I don't remember this.
I would focus on how Ben duplicates himself to combat how much less time he has now that hes a superhero. He has a clone for superhero stuff, he has a clone for relationship stuff and then a clone for hobbies. And it's less out of him being dumb and inconsiderate, and more so out of him being stressed and overworked.
I knew it was duped....i don't dislike the episode for 1 reason and its because it showed us something really cool that ben could do to potentially make any and all fights an easy clap...what vilgax tried to do with bio robots ben could do with echo echo...its just too bad the only reason he used it was to be a horrible boyfriend...and they never used it again
I will never forgive CN for ruining my goat 😔 In Alien Force Season 3 (And Sometimes Ultimate Alien) But Despite The Messy Ben had he's still one of my favorite fictional character oat 💚
If you want to look deeper into it since its the 100th episode, you could say the three bens are meant to represent the three shows we've had up until that point. Regular Ben for UA, Sensitive Ben for AF, and Rude Ben for Classic.

@@RomaroBrandon Kuro tried that one, but couldn't fit the Ben who went to watch Sumo Slammers into being the voice of reason XD
@infinityalbi9840 Kuro isn't as smart as he thinks he is. Regular Ben is the voice of reason because he's just Ben. There's no reason to overthink it.
Ben even mentions he's pulling a Ben Classic

He'd have it since alien force since the alien in question that enabled it was echo echo and not ultimate echo echo

You also gotta remember, Gwen said that Julie's match starts in THREE hours. And beating the Forever Knights needs like five minutes, and that's being very generous. (And quiet honestly even if the break up scene was written terribly in OV, it was the best choice the two made for each other)
So I never want to hear anyone saying “Julie sucks Ben was in the right” when she was a normal ass girl minus her pet alien who just wanted to commit to her relationship with Ben even with balancing her normal life as a tennis player but Ben treated her like ass after a point.
When I was a kid, I liked this one a lot because this was the first time I saw a story about getting duplicates of yourself to fill-in for you and once I rewatch the show this year after so many years I was kind of hyped for it and then looking back I realised that was eh
And what makes it 10 times worse is this is meant to be the 100th episode overall
This is an episode I find infuriating to watch, its Ben's personality at his worst. The only good thing I could say about this episode is that I like the concept of him using his alien's powers in his human form, but they never do anything with it again.
brooo you need to make more videos like this reviewing eps
Song is Rooftop Run (Sonic the hedgehog) Classic Version. The Modern version and Unleashed versions are also good.
To quote Kuro in the Ben 10 Breakdown of this episode, "Happy 100th episode, Ben 10, you absolute dipshit." Love the rewrite portion of this.
La premisa hubiera sido mejor si solo fueran dos Bens y todo lo de la película de los luchadores se dejará de lado
That episode was painful. But Ultimate Alien still the goat.
I skipped this episode on my recent rewatch of the series
I still don't dislike this episode. I don't like the Ultimate Alien Doctor Animos one more. The musical one. This is Watchable that was not.
I knew i wasn't the only one who hated this episode because it highlights a problem with how the show runners:
A. continually brings up new concepts for the omnitrix that never got used.
B. ben being teased with a new relationship just to be single and
C. ben being the cause of his problems occasionally due to immaturity that’s on and off
Ok I like the premise but I would of liked it if the episodes plot was about Ben having to much to deal with so he duplicates himself to try to balance his responsibilities and the lesson can be about how to manage time for other things idk but yeah this is probably the worst episode of the show by fat
When he wakes up the next day his dad talks to him "hey kiddo it's seem you're spreading yourself too thin you look tired" Ben says "I have to go to Julie's game today but also there's the forever knights who are planning on attacking the museum for whatever reason and there's countless other crimes I should be stopping and and an-" his dad interrupts him "it sounds like you need some alone time" Ben says "if only I could be in multiple places at once" dad responds with "wouldn't that be nice" Ben realizes "wait maybe I can be in multiple places at once" and rushes off he does the clone thing but sees that the two clones he made have different personalities and sends arrogant Ben to Kevin and soft Ben to the match and says "it's time I finally had some me time" and goes first for a spa treatment and then to the movies..."
This already took a while if you want me to continue tell me at the moment I'm tired.
@ nice thx for sharing
This episode wasted a milestone for the series just for it to be the most filler episode of all time
Doesn't this episode set up Ben keeping a spare Echo Echo in Kevin's trunk in case he dies?
This episode wasn't amazing, but it DID show us why Echo Echo is one of Ben's most OP AND most underrated aliens. Forget any debates about Alien X, Ben doesn't need him.
Go Echo Echo, duplicate as many times as you want, transform into Ben, transform into any alien you want in any amount you want. You can have an army of Way Bigs, Atomixs, Gutrots, Clockworks, etc., and Ben would be basically unstoppable. He is quite literally a one man army. (and that's not even accounting for the possibility of going Ultimate with this strategy)
the villain is so forgettable because ben is the real antagonist lmao
This is just a what if episode. This is what i tell myself at night
No cuz I watched this episode and this has to be the most baffling episodes I've watched 😭😭
Like you said, ben splitting himself into three isn't a bad idea, but oh my god this doesn't need to be ben tennyson hate episode
Everyone in that episode is a narrative black hole to paint ben in a negative light
honestly i think the omniverse nyancy episode where she controls rath is more hated, but this is a close second for me
Even as someone who was like 8 or 9 years old when this episode came out, I HATED it
without exaggeration there were plenty more hated episodes than this one, this one it's pretty acceptable in fanbase
It's a good episode I enjoyed watching the sensitive Ben
7:45 "DONT CARE. RUNNING FOR MY LIFE 🏃♂️🏃♂️"
Smh. When people rag on UA, half of the time it's the art style. The other half it's Ben at PEAK Headassery.
You thought 10 year old Ben had an ego with the omnitrix, dear God he gets so much worse when that fame hits
At least Kevin was in-Character
Nah the staring tho ☠️😂
Why did this have to be 1 of the only full episodes CN put on RUclips 😭😭
Why did you have to remind me this episode existed 💀💀💀
1:34 it could’ve been important to the overarching plot of the season
Funny thing is, this was probably the most hyped epsiode as well
Yooo the intro 💀😂
I always liked this episode just because the concept is so cool
This is literally in my top 3 most favourite episodes of all time 💀 how is this hated
The way Rude Ben was acting had me FUMIIIING as a kid😭😭😭
What makes this episode worse is
The possibilities with this power is insane
Ben changes back now has 3 ultrmatrix and your telling me asmyth does come down and fix that shit have 3 of the most busted creation in history
Ben could have used this against literally any villian in the future
Just split and use all your utimates at the same time and it seems to have no drawback on the watch power so that alone means infinite power and no time outs just split hide the clones and when you time out have on come replace you
I thought "Eye Of The Beholder" is the most hated episode.
Now review the worst episode, I recall it as the duped part 2
"Eye of the beholder"
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't he do something similar in the ultimate kevin arc. Where Kevin destroys echo echo and his copies and Ben has a spare copy in the trunk of his car?
i liked this episode but if you rewatch it more and more it gets worse. It is HILARIOUS though, great jokes in this episode 3:34 I don't remember this.
Kevin carried the comedy of this episode 🤣
I actually don't mind this episode
I kinda liked this episode😅
I pretend you didn’t say that
@ i even made a short back in the day about it. Its a decent episode🤣
I thought splitting up made him dumber and less competent and that's why he never did it again
Honestly, I disliked the episode, but I like Alien Force season 3 and ultimate alien goofy vibes
I would actually like the og episode , plot to play out
3:20 what does alien force in ultimate alien think about animated movies?
I knew it was duped....i don't dislike the episode for 1 reason and its because it showed us something really cool that ben could do to potentially make any and all fights an easy clap...what vilgax tried to do with bio robots ben could do with echo echo...its just too bad the only reason he used it was to be a horrible boyfriend...and they never used it again
I don’t like looking at episodes individually
3:23 that was shit, why couldn’t they just adapt season one?
I actually liked this episode. I now understand the hate but feel like it was a peacefull episode
I will never forgive CN for ruining my goat 😔
In Alien Force Season 3 (And Sometimes Ultimate Alien)
But Despite The Messy Ben had he's still one of my favorite fictional character oat 💚
The episode "Duped" is fine. I gave it a 5 out of 10 stars (Decent).
Hear me out man, the worst episode in ben10 is the one in ua where trash comes alive
Great work bro I like this shit
Ben didn’t even finish the movie so it was even worse. Go with your girlfriend and see the ending. This episode is so bad!
