The Global Firepower ranking tracks aircraft elements dedicated to Air-to-Air (A2A) combat. These elements - which include modern multirole types - are specifically designed to counter airborne enemy aircraft through use of advanced radar and missile technologies. The listing, therefore, includes multirole performers such as the Eurofighter 'Typhoon', classic fighter types embodied by the Boeing F-15 'Eagle', and true interceptors such as the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 'Fishbed' still operated by some global forces.

Agreed, but even if the countries had state-of-the-art fighter jets, they still need the infrastructure to even be able to make sorties and maintain them.
The US (or any superpower) can win a war with cold war era aircraft against a smaller country even with stealth fighters. Technology does not exist in a vacuum.
Unfortunately this only shows numbers, it doesn't show the kind of aircraft, how available for combat they are, how capable, how many flight hours the pilots and navigators have, how readily spares are available. So it's not really a huge lot of use. For instance Iran still uses F4 phantoms, in air combat terms these are dinosaurs which would last seconds against a modern aircraft like a F22. It also doesn't say how they are armed and what the avionics are up to.
It's a bit like saying a country with a 10,000 muskets is better equipped than a country with 1,000 M16s.
F4s? Some of these figures likely include P51s and other prop aircraft. ...I stopped the video at Ecuador because it's so misleading.
