Bring the visual of brilliance aura back! It was one of those rare additions that fit perfectly with vanilla and reminded of WC3! It was also a unique visual that only Turtle WoW had. You can change the whole spell and what it does if you want but just bring the visual part back. Those blue circles under a mage were a perfect visual identity for the arcane and you could tell at a glance an arcane mage from any other mage.
It would be nice to give Icicles an initial frostnova effect that freezes all enemies to give it at least some usage for pvp. Otherwise its just an icey missile...
It is way harder and the pulls have to be way smaller. I ended up giving up. If they change it back I will pick up the char again but it has totally taken away the fun of a frost mage 😢

Nerfing something will only make the players have less fun with that, the solution should always be to buff the things lagging behind. A good example is frost mage, the AOE that defined this spec was made impossible in favor of buffing the dungeon/raid performance.

@ Ofc yes the class is still fun. They just nerfed some key abilities pertaining to a specific playstyle that many mages enjoyed. AoE grinding is no longer possible in the same way that it used to be, which is one of the reasons I liked playing mages, but the class is still fun, I agree.
Loving the changes and i know dev teams works a lot. Idk if its asking too much but the client is the only drawback for turtle to be the ultimate WoW game
I doubt it'll ever be as good as Project Ascension, especially with these bizzare class changes and nerfs. (Brilliance Aura Gone, AoE Damage completely gutted for mages, Hunter scaling put in the dirt to force them into taking Marks talents, massive Hamstring Nerf to Warriors so anyone with a cleanse renders them 100% useless in pvp, etc)
@secondleasegamer8312 Those changes are not bad for me warriors and AoE mages are OP on vanilla. Ascension lacks class fantasy which is one of the biggest thing for WoW Vanilla
It wasn't originally in the notes I got from the devs for the Mage updates, but I absolutely had to put it in there. HL and Black Mesa (both amazing games) are huge favorites of mine.

Oh I am excited for this! I wasn't sure about Fire Mage because in classic, so many things were resistant to fire. Arcane didn't feel good and Frost is just so boring. I am really excited for all the changes!
One of the most ridiculous things i've ever seen this dev team do so far. 100% not hardcore viable, burning 40% of your mana in a raid is just absolutely fuckin pointless, and if you truly go ham, you oom fast and then explode and die. Great design lol.

Also i disagree with these specs being "boring" there are plenty of encounters that cause a good mage player to use more than frostbolt and fierball...only noobs think that mage gameplay was spamming one of these two spells.
For the same reason they had to fuck with Warriors who were completely fine as is and the most played class in the game. Yet they just had to mess with it and try to force people to play differently. Warrior PVP is horrible now. If your enemies have anyone with a cleanse, you cant win unless you get a lucky swordspec double-crit. Cuz you went from being nigh impossible to peel with both Spamstring and Improved Hamstring talent, to now having a 6second CD on your slow, that can be instantly cleaned over and over. Two very small changes that just gutted warrior's in pvp.
I'm loving the new changes in this patch but I feel that they focused on PvE way over PvP 😢 A skill like Scorch would of been really cool to see so fire can be more viable on PvP, and a skill that freezes you in place doesn't sound too good in PvP either.. hope I'm wrong tho!
Removing Brilliance Aura is hot garbage. They werent top DPS, so it was nice to have a reason to bring another mage for Aura. Now you done killed it and for god knows what reason. It was a universally loved ability and the only people ive ever seen complain about it was that they found the WC3 Aura sound annoying. This whole patch sucks.

Paladins came out better in all specs. Hunters got pretty fucked over if you wanted to play ranged, but melee hunter is stronk as hell. Rogue, I've not made up my mind on, but Combat feels like a nerf if you played maces, the same if you played swords, and buffed if you played anything else.
mixed bag. Lots of people loggin in to play with all the new stuff, but also tons of people getting pissed and quiting the game over complete overhauls of their character so they dont feel remotely like Vanilla anymore. Only time will tell if this change is gonna ruin the game or cause a huge resurgence in population, but I've been feeling pretty negative about the patch thus far. Anything good has been nerfed. Its like they set out to destroy whatever niche a spec had to try and force their new vision upon players. Some enjoy the change, others just want to play Vanilla with a few twists, not this crazy Russian WoW Clone with totally different specs.

as pvper on tel'abim i DO NOT recommend it. The new patch have had new players come to the server, however the bg at 60 are basically the same set of people every day, and the twow balance is NOT made for PvP. The Wpvp is in essence non-existence. Majority of players on Tel'Abim do NOT pvp.

I had it for a while since they removed it. Was lv45 when the patch dropped and managed to not die until 54 this morning, now It's gone forever!

you can but its much harder. They nerfed all the Mages AoE farming aspect. Even the blade of darkness from Mara is nerfed because of this

i was leveling a frost mage i switched after the patch arcane seems fun but im still level 25 and i didn't try the full potential of the talent yet
