In this episode of the van conversion DIY self build we visit the guys at @mulevans to get their awesome lightweight multi functional aluminium roof rack fitted to the van build. This just about completes the overlanding exterior equipment of the van, all is left to complete is the windows and spot lights.
We hope you enjoy the episode and find it useful. If you do drop us a like and subscribe.
This self build van conversion series will give a step-by-step guide of how we convert our VW Crafter van into a campervan (adventure van, overlanding van). We have no experience in van conversions but have lots of DIY experience but want to convert our van so we can experience van life in the UK & Europe, with the dream of shipping it to America next year.
We hope to build an adventure overlanding van comparable to a Mercedes Sprinter 4x4/AWD, Winnebago Revel similar to Living the Van life and travel like Kinging it.
Thanks for watching.
Our van is a VW Volkswagen Crafter Long wheel Base LWB 4Motion 2022.

Great bits of kit hey, and fitted by the two Jedi roof rack masters 😂😂
😂 the force is strong with the fitting team 🙏
Great video Matt 👌👌👌🙌🙌
Thanks Shaun. Super pleased with the roof rack. 🔥
Looks really cool!
Thanks for tuning in 🙏
Wow £3000! I did look at these but the width wasn’t wide enough for two kayaks and the curve of the kayaks would of hit the light bar. You getting the matching ladder?
Yer will do at some point but wanted this on before we started cutting holes in the roof to see how it all sits.
@@abucklifeMakes sense, looks good though, great video as all ways👍
@exploresandtosummit cheers brother. They also mount the awning flush which will look even better when on. They look bad ass.
Much wind noise?
I was worried it may have some wind noise. I can report absolutely no noise and I haven’t sound deadened or insulated my van yet.
How much does it weigh?
Shaun talks about this but 50kg.
Cracking videos and a cracking van👍
@@airtime0007 thanks for watching 🙏
@@abucklife Lots of weight high up. After solar panels and light bar that's probably 75kg. That said, chilling up there with a beer is probably nice.
That’s the plan. Little sun deck be perfect.
It's cool but 3k! Hope you don't run out of money and sacrifice other fundermentals.. Good luck
I knew if we didn’t do it at the start I would have just fobbed it off at the end to go travel 😂
