They are still out there though, this doesn't actually delete the comment it just deletes the history of the comment. If you click on a comment and go the the video, then delete the comment and go back to the video it's still there

❌❌❌❌❌ Just a note, once you follow the steps in video, allow some time before reactivating your channel. i did this and few minutes later, reactivated the channel then found out that only comments for the last 14 months were deleted. did it second time and waited a bit longer and all 7 years comments were deleted. that means, comments deletion IS NOT INSTANT unless you only have a few dozens of comments.
Unfortunately, this doesn't delete comments anymore. But, I've gone ahead and hidden my channel anyway since I wanted all my playlists private, anyway.

The second method not works anymore today. It works last time when I do that, but now If you hide your channel, it will hide your comments too, but not deleting them. If you unhide you channel back, your comments will come again.
Hey Greg, just tried to do it the way you explained (brilliantly, btw). Today Dec12 22 there are no more options to just permanently delete all comments. It shows that that it will also permanently delete all uploaded video, playlists, etc. Can you check into this and see if there's a way around it? THANK YOU.
I was really hoping this was an option. Plan on starting a channel soon and apparently having opinions is bad for a content creator even if you have a firm belief in your opinions. This is helpful. I have been searching for a way to delete RUclips comments where I made a mistake since I cannot edit or delete them after they are submitted on an iPad Pro. Yes, the 3-dots with the edit and delete options are there, but they do nothing when clicked. I would have to log into RUclips on my iPhone to edit or delete the comment. Now I know how to delete my comments and re-comment on the iPad Pro. Thankful I finally found a work-around.

This actually doesn't delete any of the comments you wrote, comment you wrote is still there under the videos. What this does is it just deletes history note, like track of what you were doing, from your account. Like if you were to write down everything you do on a notebook, and then some day you decide to burn down that notebook, it doesn't cancel what you've done right. If you actually want to delete the comments themselves, then open each video from that list and then delete manually, and then remove the action, otherwise you won't be able to find the video ever again, and it will be embarrasing if someone in the future sees that you wrote embarrasing sh*t

I did follow your steps, however when clicking on the Bell next to your profile icon at top right corner, you still see the comments are there in a list. Why is that ?
Summer 2023: Impossible to delete ALL comments at once. After you cliv on "View advanced settings" you only have the options to delete your own videos. The other options is to delete any single comment one by one. So if have more than 3000...Well, you get the point.
I don't know what happened. I have several channels and after hiding one of them, not only did the comments not disappear, all my videos are gone. I'm yet to find a way of getting them back ...

Calm down. The best way to make your device faster is by installing more RAM, Space, and ETC. Comments on youtube will only appear on youtube when you load it. If your laptop is running 30~ below, then I recommend a new laptop. It could be an internal problem, My device is going through the same thing. You might have PC burn. I am just saying I am NOT an expert, so I may be 100% wrong. Hope I at least helped.
