I fucking LOVE seeing people react like this. I can't remember the first time I heard this, so clips like this are a way for me to experience that moment in a way.
You have completely changed my mind. I thought one should see the studio before the live, but now I think I'm wrong. This was epic because you saw live first and then realized what a masterpiece this song is. Awesome reaction, man!
this is the official, which is partly studio, and partly a performance in front of a smallish crowd, not a whole stadium full. I think it was their fan club maybe? several of their 'live' videos were fan club performances, because they would patiently accept the need to break, start over, sing again to get it right, and would also take direction about cheering or singing at the right moments to look good.
You need to do more early Queen to get used to seeing Freddie when he was young and they were in their glam rock days. Many of my favorite songs were in that era. White Queen at the Odeon-Hammersmith would be a good place to start.
Yesss.. Check out "White Queen" at the Odeon-Hammersmith!...it is Fantastic!, a young Freddie, they were all in their 20's I believe... Shades of what would become the absolute best rock has to offer!
Nice reaction! Bohemian Rhapsody is a song that was a studio revolution, it showed what could be done in the studio. But it was impossible to recreate live. The opening harmonies are just Freddie voice and he multitracking himself. The middle harmonies have loads of overdubs to make it feel like a choir. Freddie actually sang the live version in a more difficult fashion, he only used chest voice live, while the studio version has falsetto. With all of the harmonies, it is impossible to perform this song live with only 3 vocalist. Another masterpiece with transitions to check out is Innuendo - Queen ruclips.net/video/g2N0TkfrQhY/видео.html.
I'm 77 y/o this year. I always thought that I've lived through the best years of music, but watching you react to my girlhood and young adult soundtrack just reaffirms it for me. I was just SO LUCKY to have experienced all of these artists firsthand. We listened to all of these on vinyl, with and without headphones. I'm so grateful to watch what I must have looked like hearing this for the first time . Keep on sweetie, I am having a ball! (I'm thinking it's the owners of the recordings that are blocking these types of videos. The greedy ba$tard$. If they were smart, they'd allow it, more sales of you young'uns downloading these tunes. I'm certain the artists love reaction videos.)
There's nothing better than Queen in their early days and when Freddy was young. They were truly remarkable when they came on the scene in the 70''s and changed our music and rock n' roll! Freddy Mercury was a pure music genius, he is missed.
I agree with the previous comments regarding listening to the studio/audio version of any song from the 60’s-80’s. Then listen to the live performance afterwards. The studio/audio version allows you to hear nuances that otherwise get drowned-out during a live performance.
Well this was 1975 long hair was in style. #1 rock song of all time. #2 StairWay to Heaven in my Opinion. Should do some early Queen “In the Lap of the Gods” @ the Rainbow 74. 🔥🔥👑👑👑
Great reaction! You got to see the first video that truly launched music videos, as well as, experience “Bohemian Rhapsody” as Freddie Mercury painstakingly created and recorded. The harmonization at the beginning was all Freddie harmonizing with himself. You really need to check out the younger brother of “Bohemian Rhapsody” which is a song called “The March of the Black Queen”. While the lyrics in this song my seem confusing, you can see where Freddie Mercury started experimenting with powerful change ups and transitions in songs. BTW - “March of the Black Queen” is part of a series of fantasy songs Freddie Mercury wrote and later recorded on the album “Queen II”.
Shake that thought that studio is better than live OR that the reverse is true. Each is a different style their of artistry. This version features Freddie solo doing the opening harmonies - a feat that cannot be replicated live. But the studio version let's you see the distinct presentations. And remember: there's a lot of years and personal growth between studio and live performances. Each has its own personality and nuance in the moment - captured in time.
Love your reaction 👍🥰I was blessed to have grown up in the 70’s & early 80’s…seen queen 3 times 👍remember..it was all TALENT…no auto tune..it was their real voices and in concert, they all blew us away❤️keep enjoying 👌try listening to He ain’t heavy..he’s my brother..by the Hollies..think you’ll enjoy 😊
Thankyou dear, loved you Queen reaction as always. I hope the Queen train will keep on going. I suggest some late Queen, I want it all. Much bless and keep up the good work
Check out “Inside The Rhapsody” mini-documentary... it’s an almost 45 minute dive into how the song was made and recorded. You can either watch the full version (ruclips.net/video/m4qYBqIieEk/видео.html), or see it broken up into 3 sections .
this is why i always say "listen to the album version first, THEN listen to a live version" ..hear the song as it was meant to be ..because most live versions are altered in some form. sometimes its better live...but NOT often
This was 1975 and this year it was voted no 1 single of all time!(uk) It was no 3 best selling single of all time only beat by it's Christmas charity song and charity/tribute song to princess Dianna by Elton John candle in the wind (97) Written by freddie He composed all the melody..he also did the riff(which may then played) He always allowed May to do a solo guitar on his songs but they always did it originally just him Deacon and Roger then may would add his solo May knew what freddie wanted then composed something freddie may have tweaked it but his solos were pretty much just his but obviously he heard them a few times to get a feel of what would work and the riff was Freddie It's been at no 1 twice!
Studio version first, then live performances. Try checking out, "You take my breath away " live at Hyde park and then the studio version. Both breathtaking, yet so different. Would make a great doubleheader, jus sayin
Other must hear: Peter Gabriel Here comes THE flood, live in Athens. Phil Collins live. In THE Air tonight, THE END!! Fucking unreal! Disturbed, Sound of silence. David sings His heart out!!

Second the recommendation on White Queen. The piano/guitar duet is incredible.

Great reaction, keep it coming!
Great reaction - you have a great honest heart.

This is the answer to the question "what do you get when you put rock & roll and opera into a blender?".
"Masters of transition" ... that's right!
Great reaction for the greatest song ever!
finally a great reaction. Beautiful, amazing, you felt what this composition conveys. You have an amazing musical intuition. Cool.
Such a great reaction! Love it!! Thank you.....
Freddie Mercury the greatest front man of the greatest band ever, ever!

Hip hop guy rocks it out! Priceless.
Lol..i love seeing these younger ones reactions to a 40 yr old release when I lived during the height of this epicness.

Yes, well said.
Absolutely!
The best group of all time loved Freddie’s voice.
Best performer & singer ever R.I.P. Freddy

You are the coolest man - I love watching your reactions !! true passion !!
Great reaction. Possibly the greatest song of all time
Thankyou dear, loved you Queen reaction as always. I hope the Queen train will keep on going. I suggest some late Queen, I want it all. Much bless and keep up the good work
Freddie owned the stage!
That first harmony section was an 8-Track over dub of Freddy harmonizing WITH HIMSELF.
Nobody, BUT NOBODY beats Freddy's vocals !!
Smooth to grit in the blink of an eye. Yes.

Try the live Aid 1985 Queen concert. Read lyrics to "Hammer To Fall" first. Great Concert! Queen stole the show!
Please review Under Pressure Live from Wimbley
You will understand why vanilla ice got the shit sued out of them
Brian May owns that guitar!!
This was 1975 and this year it was voted no 1 single of all time!(uk)
It was no 3 best selling single of all time only beat by it's Christmas charity song and charity/tribute song to princess Dianna by Elton John candle in the wind (97)
Written by freddie
He composed all the melody..he also did the riff(which may then played)
He always allowed May to do a solo guitar on his songs but they always did it originally just him Deacon and Roger then may would add his solo
May knew what freddie wanted then composed something freddie may have tweaked it but his solos were pretty much just his but obviously he heard them a few times to get a feel of what would work and the riff was Freddie
It's been at no 1 twice!
Thanx bruh for reactin' to this.
This exactly how he looked when i saw him 1976
Ya felt that didntcha?? Yeah..Its like That!! Welcome to your Out of Body Experience!! 🎧😎

Studio version first, then live performances. Try checking out, "You take my breath away " live at Hyde park and then the studio version. Both breathtaking, yet so different. Would make a great doubleheader, jus sayin
Brian May wrote the Bohemian Rhapsody guitar solo
Wanna be shocked? Check out Marc Martel singing bohemian rhapsody solo while playing piano! You will think Freddie came back from the grave!
Whole first part of the harmonies is just Freddy over himself
Freddie*
The best song ever
Other must hear: Peter Gabriel Here comes THE flood, live in Athens. Phil Collins live. In THE Air tonight, THE END!! Fucking unreal!
Disturbed, Sound of silence. David sings His heart out!!
Freddie Mercury was a genius
His favorite instrument was the audience
Analog music, you can’t refuse it
Freddie is 29 in this video
And bear in mind , no synthesizers were used!
Freddie was my idol back in 1975.😁 I wasn't so keen on his 80s image though, I must say.
Please try Disturbed's Sound of Silence , or Within Temptation's Our Farewell
❤❤❤
Please react more Queen 🔥 Love of my Life live, Innuendo, Good old fashioned lover boy, i want it all, i want to break free, don't stop me now and all other beautiful Queen songs!
Is it cold in that room?
Listen to dont stop me now
New drinking game. A shot every time he says bro.
that's the entire nation....so deal with it, i guess.
Just a pity that some 'reactors' think the stream is about THEIR performance, rather than that of the artist they are reacting to.
Watch his 3 funny moment videos so funny
🔥💯💥🎸✨
well it gets better , go watch the live aid set
Love this video, don't he look like willie wonka and the chocolate factory lol anyways great reaction my friend.
Judas Priest-Dreamer Deceiver
Pull up a lyric video. You want the album version not the live version to get all the subtleties.
