how i miss beloved 80s! grew up in corpus in the 80s. was at sunrise mall every saturday, where all us teens hung out! so many fond memories. thanks for sharing!!
Wow that Pancho's shot brought back some memories. Pacman in the lobby before we left and a stroll over to the video store a few doors down afterwards.
Oh My God a Tear just went down my cheek guys. 😢 So many wonderful Memories. I was a kid back in those days. In 1980 I was 9 yrs old. Thank you so much for this ❤❤ God Bless you!!!
Oh my gosh Ponchos back in the day was the best Mexican restaurant in Corpus...oh my you are so right about the sopapillas. I remember tv commercials with pictures of food. Thanks for the memories
I wanna go back. Go back. And do it all over. But I can’t go back I know. Eddie Money. That song jumps into my head as I watch this video. Just a simpler time back then. I loved the 80s Corpus Christi Texas. It was Rad and Fun. Now we are in the middle of a pandemic in 2020. It’s been an awful year filled with tragedies and death! I Love the80s!! Drop a thumbs up and comment if you would rather be there. And what was your favorite memory of the 80s.
I was born in 1993, so sadly wasn't around for the 80s....but do have memories from the late 90s of Corpus Christi. I am sad Sunrise mall is closed to the public, because walking through it used to be my favorite thing ever, reminded me of when I was little. I am so jealous of people who knew the 80s! I remember the late 90s and early 2000s, I can only imagine the 80s were even better. Now life is so different!
being born in 70, I got to grow up here in the 80's. We used to hit a putt putt golf place on SPID, think there was a giant orange dinosaur out front. I miss Old Mexico and Ship Ahoy. I bowled junior leagues at Ayers, and miss all the old bowling alleys. I also miss being young and not having to pay for ANYTHING, lol. Being grown up is overrated.
had to look real hard in case i was in any pictures hahahaha corpus was a great place to grow up i do enjoy seeing the old pictures of it thanks for posting them
My family always told me Corpus used to have a lot of tourism downtown, and how beautiful it was back then, now everything is just closed and they’re trying to revitalize the city
Could have been the song, could have been the memories, but one thing is certain, I'm a sobbing mess. That said, I enjoyed this nice bit of memorabilia.
Always loved the original WHATABURGER restaurant back in the 70s and Weinerstizer on.SPID for the chili hot dogs and Picks drive in for hamburgers.....oh the good old days
I have misty memories of eating shrimp and french fries with ketchup (kid’s taste buds, lol) as a little girl in 1984 on a ship that had a sunken dining room of some sort. I could be wrong, but I believe it was called the Wayward Lady. Anyone recollect this place?

Such an easier time. I sure do miss my 80s Corpus Christi Texas. Pretty much all of the places shown here are long gone. I'm sad now.
Born and raised in Corpus Christi , Man do I myself miss those days

No kidding, that brought back some major childhood memories.
Memory lane. The Ayers Bowling lanes had that cool neon sign. And the mall was cool in its heyday
Right across the street from Del Mar

Damn. I was born in 83. This just unlocked loads of memories. That’s how I remember Corpus.
My family always told me Corpus used to have a lot of tourism downtown, and how beautiful it was back then, now everything is just closed and they’re trying to revitalize the city
Not with this city council!! Too busy with their corruption!! Sad..
Only one corrupt is governor abbot
Wow what great memories of some of these places. As I use to wear my shirt that said " No Where is but Corpus Christi" back in the day. 😀

When you demonstrate 1980's pictures, why are they not totally in color? We had color in the 1980's.
Yeah, those are not all 80’s pics.
I used to live on Saratoga and Weber and I also lived on Kostoryz and SPID back in the day.
So Staples street is FM 2444?
I truly believe Sunrise Mall should be made into a Medical Mall. It could have every kind of doctor in one place...
i used to work for Paul York Toyota!
Somebody give me a Magic Isles all-day bracelet and a roll of quarters for the gameroom!! Anyone remember Toyota Teri?
Sunrise was the best

I think it's where Landry's is today
Ship Ahoy?
Oh yeah, there was an empty field between Everhart and Staples on eastbound SPID and Shopper's World where the CC Trade Center sits now.
Corpus Christi when it was beautiful peaceful quiet and a vacation town. Now it's turned into abolish s*** with people bursting at the seams.

Ya me imagino cómo andaría Selena (qué en gloria de Dios esté) de niña, paseando en la feria y en el centro, el HEB y comiendo hamburguesas 🍔🍟🍦

Hate to say it guys. But Corpus is nothing but a ghetto now. Homelessness drug usage plague the streets. It's everywhere..💔
