Back in the late-late 60s ,as a young teen,i was introduced to this wonderful city,and i got my first taste of the American life,by a young lady( Mary Ann) and her friend (Vergie)-and i was mesmerized by how much there was to enjoy in America. Living in another state now,i can surely say that,Corpus Christi was one of the reasons that i immigrated to America.Unfortunately change is inevitable ,but memories are constant . I am planing to visit again,i hope i will see something positive in all the changes.
No, you were correct the 1st time hurricane Alan formed in the Gulf on August 1980 & that's when it hit south Texas including Corpus Christi. It was so huge that it almost covered the whole Gulf. It was beneficial that it lost most of its power before striking here.
Interesting video of Corpus Christi on 1st half concentrating on the 1970 damage that hurricane Celia inflicted. I think your video would have been superior if instead of playing that 1977-1978 disco song Burn Baby Burn by The Tramps that you would have played an earlier 1970 song like Green Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf or Mama Told Me Not To Come by 3 Dog Night.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that pic of cine 6 was when the release of ROTJ came out in 1983. I remember seeing a group of b&w pics for that story. I was in that line!
Wish i could see my hometown in those glory days, It's pretty boring there now, but i heard theyre trying to open more things again, hopefully i could go back one of these days

Evacuated Hurricane Alan took 7 hours to get to San Antonio.
I remember driving around with my mom after hurricane Allen and seeing boats on the stairs of the seawall..

the high house prices has crippled its economy and driven young people away. you are going to reap the whirlwind of that. with a collapsed town.
sandy shores worked there as a teen pretty hotel great food loved the smell of the gulf air and the pretty girls at the beach and padre island .
