- Big Barn Build 023 - With such a wide and deep wall needed below DPC we decided to mass pour but that involved a fair bit of shuttering.

Its always nice to be prepared and ready for the summer… the roof will be a welcome addition to shelter you from the rain 😂
That's the plan! 😁
Junior and Senior working together...that is always a winning team!
Not too much work the vibrator, just kinda dip it in, I believe it causes the gravel to sink also.
I’m terribly impressed you guys are doing so much yourselves!
As well as the earth moved !
Good advice for any type of vibrator.
I swear you have a twin brother to get all that work done. Top work give yourself a pat on the back ( or ask your brother to do it !! )
Have you thought about getting some track mats , then next time you need to get the forklift or whatever somewhere you could just lay them out as a roadway. Can sort the access roads when things calm down and the build is finished.
Ticking off some huge milestones - loving the updates.
Things really are coming along. It’ll start to fly soon.
Great progress and impressive project management. Well done.
Just a quick note to say, don’t drive a forklift with forks pointing downhill, it’s a risk of tipping over, all way have forks pointing up when on a hill.
The Olympic size pool in coming alone nicely ! 😊❤
Why did the chicken cross the road? To illustrate a point.
Be careful not to over vibrate. Will seriously weaken the top layer.
Great stuff. Do you remember the dimensions of the timbers you used for your small shed in the old house. The one with the black metal roof
Will start to finish on this build be about a million quid?
Finally the video is here been waiting for this
Always heard when adding in rebar to twist it in, rather than just pushing it in. Supposedly means that the epoxy etc fills the spiral in the rebar better, rather than just being squeezed out.
Really enjoyed this one
Great job, as always 👍
A diesel forward and reverse wacker would be a far better job Tim , far better compaction than the old Aldi special. Not cheap tho tbf . Loving watching the build
Another big chunk of progress- well done Tim & team! What laser level are you using? I’m needing to upgrade mine but seems a lot of choice. Also- I can’t help but feel that the compaction depth of your whacker is going to be quite shallow compared to where you want it, especially with that polished interior concrete floor. I have the same whacker, and I’d trust it for patios, pathways and monoblock driveway but I’d be concerned for anything that needs to be heavier than that- are you finding that you are getting the compaction you need from careful layering with the small whacker?
Road roller coming in before we do the main prep. 👍 The laser is a Bosch but not the best for outdoor work in bright sunlight. Getting the job done though.
Try reversing up the slope at a bit of speed with a bit of ballast on always worked for me even on icy mornings 👌
Tried that first but it was an instant refusal 😂. Not got much push that engine. May be now the ground has baked in the sun a bit ill try again/
Tow up gravity down ?
No body vibes the concrete founds 🙀
Weather tight by autumn 2024? 😊
Could the concrete wagon not have got to the pour site? Dosent look to bad across the barn floor?
Are you going to be pouring the floor slab yourself or are you subbing it out?
Depends more on availability than anything. If the contractors we had quote can't do it for 8 weeks then may crack on ourselves but have budgeted to sub out.
No bottom drains in the pool?
Still another insulated screed above that structural slab so will be above that. 👍
In the background in the field below the barn/house it looks as if there's a "circus tent"? - what's that about or is it my imagination?
Looking again I think it's the netting tied to the fence giving the appearance of a tent! Appt made at Specsavers!
First, yay
What are your methods for project planning for this? Gantt charts?
give the forklift assistance to get up the slope by pulling or pushing with say dumper?
Didn't Tom used to be called Craig?
😂 no doubt I’ll call Craig in for some help soon! He’s busy with his own project now.
too much yakking
I hope you can get your money refunded for the protective caps...
I love watching this progress, but 10 adverts in 32 mins is a bit much.
It’s tough for most RUclipsrs now. I went for YT premium, cancelled Spotify and use YT music that comes with premium. Beware if you try this as there is no going back. YT without ads is a wineries place😳
Not sure what platform you're watching this on, but that is not my experience - and i don't use an add blocker or anything
That's going to make me count next time but I'm sure it was only three
Invest in RUclips premium. I think I pay 20 GBP per month. That lets 5 separate Google accounts to have ad free videos. It really makes you tube an alternative to other services.
🫡👊
Stop over-thinking stuff.
Too much talk Tim
