Hope you are doing good these days Matt. Miss seeing you around in Tom’s videos more often. I’ve had more than a dozen people approach me here in the states, a few of them actually thought I was you, and the others told me how much I look like you. We look almost identical.
To be fair most of these happened when I was at huge trade shows in Atlanta and New York and many of the people who approached me were from the UK, two in particular from London. But also several Americans,… Obviously y’all have a big following here….. I have been so surprised over the past 6-8 years of how many people have approached me.
Not only do we look alike but we followed a similar career path.
I built guitars and amps full-time for 15 years in my own shop. Before accidentally stumbling into systems engineering, (specializing in metrology and test equipment repair/calibration.)
Accidentally started my own lab… Basically to fund my addiction of test equipment. But now I consult for many manufacturers and production facilities around here in Chattanooga, and even a lot of research laboratories like Oak Ridge. I enjoyed building musical instruments and it is still a great passion of mine. But I really love working on test equipment and metrology stuff.
I’m sure your job is super interesting! The little bit I’ve heard you talk about…. It sounds like you get to work with a lot of audio engineering test equipment. I bet it’s super interesting.

Thanks for this. I've watched Tom's video and it was hilarious. That was both more complicated and easier than I thought it would be. The card reader set up seemed so simple, but getting everything tucked away safely and securely, getting the weight balanced, etc must have been a faff. I was seriously impressed by the outcome though. What an amazing set up to explain a little bit of law!

Scott and you took 2 of my favorite pastimes and mixed them! ... Just a warning as I am sure there are going to be those commenting about drinking and driving a hovercraft, This is a gimmick for fun and views (nothing wrong with it) yes people it goes without saying a hovercraft is hard enough to drive without being intoxicated!!!

Great job, I think the only thing you missed which would have been handy is a (relatively deep) cupholder of some sort in front of Tom for him to use while pouring the mixed drinks, might have lost a few less cups that way :P
Good job! That beer thingy looks very tempting... There's new years eve, easter, midsummer, crayfish party, fermented herring party, ease-the-pain-of-living-in-Sweden-in-the-winter party, "christmas" (it's Jul and nothing else here). It'll get a lot of use!

pretty good way of maintaining distancing all pubs should have a card reader attached to a long stick and a grabber to hand over drinks at the moment
I think another good idea would be to have some sort of mechanism set up to retract and extend the drink grabber.
I don't see how a grabber is safer than putting the beer down on the bar and stepping away so the customer can take it. We just need a bit of time to come to grips with the concept that not giving someone something directly into their hand is not impolite anymore.
@@sourcererseven3858 in my experience when there is a table to collect from people instantly try to get closer or take it directly from the servers hand so a grabber would force a 1/2 meter distance. You might have been around a lot smarter people in which case it wouldn’t make much difference

Awesome I'm always intrigued by the technical challenges that are involved with some of these daring crazy Adventures, so I was quite surprised to see this was scrolling through after watching the other one. It was an entertaining fun break from the monotony of indoor RUclipsers.
I know this isn’t your full time job, but you and Tom have such interesting jobs! I would love to do something like this one day, I love all the projects you get up to :D Behind the scenes are my favourite videos!

What taxes does a train pay? Since they are avoiding restrictions by traveling, I imagine taxes would also be the traveling laws. Though, that may require having a different destination than your departure point, much like how cruise ships in the US have a international "destination".

The Citation Needed episode on Tom's channel about the Sark Football Team has Matt spewing out a non-sequitur about hovercraft and how someone could afford one with the tax savings of Sark being a tax haven, and the Tech Dif crew all went out for a go on a hovercraft months later because of it.
If you haven't watched Citation Needed and you liked Park Bench, and like quoting one-off obscure quotes, you'll really like Citation Needed.
Sark goes by Guernsey laws of memory serves, rather than UK laws, so it might not be legal there, I don't know.

Was there any weighing ahead of time to make sure that the distribution wasn't dangerously off or that it wasn't too heavy to take off at all, or was everything light enough that it was never really going to matter?
You can abort takeoff on a hovercraft. There is a clear range between "too heavy to be safe" and "oops we broke it"

as someone who has dappled in CAD software in my time, i'm intrigued: is there actually a GoPro call fusion 360? like the Autodesk software? or was that a slight slip up from Matt?
