- California is long overdue for a major earthquake. As far as when, geologists warn the threat could be imminent. I-Team is digging into the preparation underway to see which areas are most at risk - starting with the Golden Gate Bridge. abc7ne.ws/3RWLN6Q

Hold up..what is the expensive ass bridge tolls for than? 😂😂😂Yall warning us of a soon to be ritual? 🥴🥴🥴
Over $9 last time I crossed.
Well gotta say after toll increase after toll increase which apparently does nothing to make the bridge safer, they get federal grant money so tolls don't need to go up as an excuse to pay for the retrofit (although they probably will). FYI, exactly one road section collapsed on the bay bridge, other than that it stood up to the 89 earthquake just fine.
A bridge built in the '30s will definitely survive
I don't know about that new bay bridge though. I feel like rookies built it
it wont survive in my opinion, i have installed iron on the golden gate a few times. from the retrofit over fort point in the early 2000 s to the suicide nets in 2022. most of my time is under the road deck. the condition of the iron is disturbing as it is infuriating, fly a drone up as see for yourself.
Cali has done NOTHING to prepare for the NEXT big one , keep voting Blue
"More than 100,000 vehicles per day including half a million freight trucks," perhaps you should take a basic arithmetic class.
One way to find out 😃
Just trying to squeeze more money from the people. The bridge will be fine. Focus on more urgent problems.
sure hope they figured it out. this must be the first salveo on 12.00 tolls !!!
That 2014 Quake in American Canyon warned us its not just the Hayward and San Andreas faults that are a threats in Northern California but there are other faults like the West Napa Fault that pose a threat too. Yes and its crazy to think its been 20 years since Caltrans replaced the Westbound Carquinez Bridge, 15 years since the Northbound Benicia Bridge was added and 10 Years since they replaced the Eastern part of the Bay Bridge. Hope USDOT and Caltrans solution for Golden Gate Bridge works.
$400M is nothing compared to the cost to build a brand new state of the art 1million sq-ft hospital in CA from the ground up
$10B? I thought it would be more like 15-20B
Instead of asking stupid questions like this, the state should be reinforcing every old bridge instead of sitting around, waiting to find out.
What is up with all of these doom & gloom stories 😂
Too keep you locked on the screen
We will comment on anything. :)
How does it cost $10,000,000,000 to build a bridge?
What are you going to build it cheaper?
Joey's brother in law has deeeeeep pockets
what the hell? that many bridges are in bad condition? i hope the bay bridge is okay! damn!
Answer: Probably not, same goes for the west span Bay Bridge, though the east span of the Bay Bridge will probably survive, since it’s built to withstand an earthquake
$400M of JB Weld.
When the Bay bridge got damaged in 89 there was no heavy traffic, I was pissed off when they fixed it.
Then they tore it down, instead of leaving it as a bike and walk access to TI.
@@batcactus6046 lt was in the way for the new bridge plus it was a death trap 🪤
The bridge is a toll road, i don't want my tax dollars to go towards anything that is a toll road.
It flips and people will be trapped under the nets. That's my prediction. Why is this expensive thing around still? If you paid to live on it, the cost would be higher than a penthouse in SF. But you would have no roof, plumbing, and electricity. If it breaks we should be able to build one that's going to cost much less to maintain. Half the cost to build and maintain.
Pity the hapless drivers paying tolls for the $224 million suicide barrier to prevent For Whom the Bell Tolls. GGB tolls go up again July 1, 2024.
OMG keep this disasterbator away from our bridge.
San Andreas fault moves tectonic plates north and south so it's got that going for it, which is why you should orient your bed north south so you're not thrown out of bed during a quake
Yes, plus it's really good for the human system to orient to the poles.
Hopefully not..... San Francisco doesn't deserve something so beautiful and iconic.... Why ?, because SF has become an overflowing cesspool.... Ugly in so many ways.....
The ground is at fault 🤑
Hire the Chinese , they can rebuild for $2b
The answer no .
Tolls and $400M, what a waste of taxpayer money.
I like how there is a personal scooter left on the curb, seen behind the reporter. I love how some of these riders park wherever they like and/or ride on sidewalks, without any concern for others.
You can’t say nobody will die and then say but there will be significant amount of damage 💀
lol 2029, what a joke.
😂😂😂
