This video brings back so many memories. Ever since I was a little kid I always dreamed of going to San Francisco and dreamed of seeing the golden gate. I made that dream come true last year. On our first day there we stopped off at the iconic Mrs. Doubtfire house. From there, we walked down to Marina. I was saving the best part. As soon as we turned the corner into the Marina district, I saw the bridge and started crying. Pure tears of joy. Watching this video bought back them memories and I started crying again because it finally hit me that I lived my dream and I am so happy. Thank you for uploading this!!!!
I'm 66 now. I would visit my grandparents every summer in the SF bay area starting in 1968 when they moved from our state of Ohio. It was the highlight of my youth and to this day I think of all the places in SF and all over California we visited. I have read several books about the Golden Gate Bridge and always had a love and fascination for it. I have walked it many times and I recall if I am correct that back in the early 1970's there was no fencing and razor wire. Most likely it was rare for someone to jump off to commit suicide. So eventually the fence went up. On another note -around 1978 my cousin who lives in Richmond drove us up to the hills in Berkeley not long before sunset. We watched as the fog rolled in and gradually enveloped the bridge - at the end we could only see the top of the 2 towers as the rest of the bridge was covered in fog. We did not have a video camera back then but if we did it would surely have made for a wonderful video. It was an amazing sight that I have always remembered. People who have never been to SF are missing experiencing a beautiful city. It's not the same as it was when I would visit as a child and then a teenager. I miss the old SF, the Cliff House and the how clean and normal it was back then.
You picked such a nice day to walk about the Golden Gate Bridge, and the views are spectacular! 😍🌉 I didn't get a chance to walk across it as a kid, but I will do so when I visit SF again one day! Thank you so much for sharing this epic walk across the iconic bridge, AK! 🤗
Hi AK loved watching your walk across the golden gate bridge beautiful scenery and blue skies. I waked it with my sis back in Sept 2017 and love the experience would like to go back to san 32:11 Francisco 1 day. Thank you for letting me relive that wonderful memmory❤❤
You picked the perfect day to do this. I walked out to the center of the bridge and returned to where I started--that was in 2007, the last time I was in SF. It was the middle of summer but the temp was only 58 degrees F.
Wow!🎉 The Golden Gate Bridge! I've gone across it so many times in both directions -in a car. I've been to Vista Point several times too. I've never crossed it on foot-your vid's magical😉luv it! I certainly apprecite it. Hope you enjoyed your crossing! 😊
I just want to say that I truly enjoyed the one take video I thought it was beautiful no interruptions just one continuous flow of visual Delight I want to thank you very much and say it was a job well done thank you again
It was sunny when we walked across, but on the return trip the fog rolled in and it got cold. The bridge actually has a foghorn for shipping traffic, so that was interesting to hear.
I bet walking across was windy.... I drove across to salsalito....not sure I could walk it..but an experience... Hope you took the ferry to sunset tour.. love SFO weather...breath taking 😊
0:10 Great view of The Golden Gate Bridge at the start ,so beautiful bridge 😀Great view from the bridge at 12:22 😎Thank you for sharing this epic walk A K 🙂👍!!!
I guess once in your life you should walk the bridge. I did it, too, mostly because my then twelve years old son insisted. Surely he will remember it all his life. But be advised that even on the nicest day, as seen in the video, it is very noisy because you literally walk right next to a six-lane highway, while at the same time there is a chilling wind going on at all times. All of the people in the video prove it, so be prepared. Yes, the views are spectacular, especially when a ship passes below you. You can't really plan for it either because, as the narrator says, the fog situation is unpredictable. I definitely recommend it, with the right expectations, preparations, and, of course, luck. That said, I have been crossing the bridge regularly by car and even after thirty years doing so, it is still something special to experience.
New York City has three suspension bridges you can walk across: Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, and Williamsburg Bridge. Nice walk to be honest on all three. Hopefully I can move back there.
Truly amazing video AK - Thank you for taking me on your walk across the Golden Gate bridge! Question, would it be possible for you to activate/provide closed captioning for your content?
The reason why they put the fence up on the San Francisco bridge for is that they don't want people committing suicide at anytime that's why and nice video by the way
As a San Franciso native welcome to my hometown...But I gotta correct you on somethings, it not Foggy most of the time. And the place to see the Sea Loins is Pier 39.😉
GTA San Andreas; Los Santos (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco), Las Venturas (Las Vegas). The night club at the bottom left beginning of the video is Jizzy’s club LOL
One day perhaps you will come and walk our bridge here in Michigan: By total length the Mackinac Bridge, at 5 miles long, remains one of the longest bridges of its kind. By comparison, the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge in Japan, which is currently considered the longest suspension bridge in the world with a main span length of 6,532 ft, is less than 2.5 miles long in total length. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous walk.
I agree the Mackinac Bridge is amazing with connecting both Peninsulas in Michigan. Now that the summer season is almost here it probably start getting busy.
By the way, I believe you can only drive across the Mackinac bridge. The authorities allow the bridge to be walked only day and you have to reach midpoint by 10 am so that they can open the bridge up to traffic by noon.
Yeah, that's a scary arse bridge Rofl.... Traumatizing memories of my childhood hahaha . Riding in a car across it was bad enough, I couldn't imagine walking across it. I've felt safe vicariously walking across the NY bridges vids ActionKid and then a couple of others .. Don't know if I'll even make it through this video. (I have to click off of street view on Google maps when they get too close you bodies of water/bridges)
40:00 - I got to about this point and had to pee so bad it hurt. I said to my wife "if there isn't a public restroom on this other side, I'm peeing off the side of the bridge in full view of all the traffic." Fortunately, there was one in the visitor's center, though it was in pretty rough shape.
Hey, if you happen to recall, do you remember approximately what time of day you filmed this? Like, 12 pm, 1 pm? I'm planning on possibly going this may and would like to know when the weather looks this beautiful. I'd appreciate it, thanks.
Walked from the car park to the North Tower back in the 90s with wife and 5 year old daughter.Daughter says legs still ache.😅😅 HA HA!! Rog.Pacific Sunset ( LA).
Thanks for the walk. I once drove across and wanted to park at the Vista Point but there was no space. In your video it still looked difficult to do so. One thing I would take issue with - you several times refer to it as the world's most famous bridge. It is ONE of. London's Tower Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Bridge might not be as spectacular, but they could also both stake a claim.
8/2024.....In June of 1988, at about 3PM, when Kathy and I were on vacation in SF, we walked on the bridge, to take in the stunning views. Shortly before getting to the middle point, we encountered an excited cluster of folks. Only 20 minutes before, a man in his early 40s, climbed over the barrier, and jumped to his death into the roiling bay waters below. Groups of tourists and locals alike were shocked and saddened by this unexpected occurrence. Gawkers pointed out the body, bobbing face down, motionless in the waves. He was a well dressed fellow, wearing a bright yellow hooded rain slicker. Murmuring voices in the crowd, said the bay bridge water patrol had been called to retrieve his body. We stole a few glances of that poor fellow, and wondered what lead him to that dire decision. The whole experience seemed unreal, upset we decided to walk back..
Very true. But to accomplish all that they have to get rid of all the democratic liberals. Sadly our lovely Seattle has fallen in the hands of those liberals. And with it it's fallen to all the same issues.
@@johnm7882 You mean the liberals who have made Seattle and San Francisco the engines of our entire economy? You mean those cities? I've seen Republican leadership in flyover states, and we don't need more trailer parks and meth heads threatening people with guns.
Unfortunately, the vehicular traffic is extremely loud when you are walking the bridge. But it really is the only way of getting to the north bay with a car. There is ferry service, but not for cars. I think the geography of the area prevents them from building tunnels or alleviating traffic some other way.
London Bridge or tower bridge are both more famous than the Golden Gate Bridge around the world,on that bold claim you are talking nonsense🤷🏻♂️been across the golden gate bridge in SFS and it’s not as good as I thought it was going to be,nowhere near the class and history of both London’s famous bridges fact although SFS itself is a nice city especially on the outskirts in Hercules which I found a really nice place.

The Full House opening song "Everywhere You Look" just popped into my head.
AK, awesome job in catching the essence of the bridge.
the great video...tks so much for yours video and information. Next Time...I"ll be there

Wow, you had a great trip with the Golden Gate Bridge
Beautiful video. Thank you for this. I loved watching this very much.
You’re welcome, happy you enjoyed it!
What is interesting about the Golden Gate Bridge is that it was designed to be utilitarian, but it also ended up being an architectural piece of art!
Absolutely
Thankyou so much. I really enjoy my vicarious travel with your videos
Really thanks AK it was incredible the view and everything.
That was a beautiful walk on a beautiful day on one of the world's most beautiful bridges 🌁
Awesome video!
Thank you! It was a gorgeous day.

Man im so jealous lol. Its nice and sunny. When I went to SF last year it was gloomy and cold in June...in Summer lol

A terrific video on a bridge I would like one day to visit and still very much one of the World's greatest, even after so many years.
Thank You 💖💖
So beautiful
Tanks!!
beautiful
Thank you from the heart. Driving across this bridge is terrifying enough for me. All you walkers out there, bravo!
You’re welcome!
The cables that are holding up this bridge were made by the same company that built the Brooklyn Bridge - John A Roebling's Sons Co.
No bike for The Actionkid ! He does the proper thing & 🚶♂️the beautiful bridge. 🐼

Nice video. Did you know that Lisbon (Portugal) has a bridge similar to The Golden Gate and it is called The 25th April Bridge.
It’s interesting. It’s color matches the Golden Gate Bridge, but it’s pillars have the same design as the bay bridge.
The bridge is Lisbon is actually more similar to the Bay bridge than the Golden Gate.

I think a great deal of that chain link fencing has been removed because the new anti suicide nets have been fully deployed below.
สวัสดีครับผมกำลังชมภาพสวยๆๆเมีองแคลิฟอร์เนียถ่ามีโอกาศเราจะต้องไปที่นั้นแน้นอน
Beautiful famous bridge, but new York is best than that, I love new York bridge 🌉 better 😊
go to chicago next plz 🥲
No nets on the sides like bridges in ny. No suicides on this bridge I guess
There are nets now - recently added. 12:27
They should play "Jump!" by Van Halen throughout the walk
