Thank you Justin for your invaluable advice. I'm probably not your target audience as I'm taking all of this in with a view of a DIY project. Still, the information I've gained will be a massive help to me so many many thanks for that. I have my base's all ready for the laying of the tiles now (2 x 20msq patios). I see you have done a video on setting the string line so I'm off to watch them now. - Brillaint videos and thank you.
Spot on Justin , Been bitten by bad advice on products a couple of times at the Merchants . Soon learn to TELL THEM what you need and not what THEY THINK YOU NEED , As you said most of the time they just don't know. Due diligence !
Great help this I’ve got two big porcelain jobs coming up which I’m excited to tackle. My sticking point is the cutting Can’t stretch to a big saw yet , have always used my disc cutter on all my other jobs but now not sure how to tackle it
As long as you have the right blades for the disc cutter you be ok as long as the tiles aren't to long. Tip put a tile in line with your cut so a tile on top of the tile your cutting use the to score a straight line .move the tile now you have a straight line to carry on cutting. Any discrepancies that are not straight will be seen in the grout lines . Hope that helps. Good luck you be fine . Justin 👍
Thanks for your reply mate They are 800x400 normally very confident with the cuts but as haven’t cut porcelain before and with 4 mm joints no room for mistakes Do you think worth hiring one ?
@@lukedacosta3729 Your welcome luke I no one or two who dont need a saw they are so good on the sthil saws .cutting the 800 will be a challenge as you say but go for it you'll have to mate so just do it .Not sure if you can hire a rubi or a zoe or similar .can cut em with mini.disc ,sthil saw or ive heard the dewalt cordless is good aswell. Go for it
Justin im sure both John and George will appreciate your kind words and me being someone who watches all three of you i can tell you all have the same goals . Its easy to pigeon hole people by calling them cowboys because of a bad job but as you have said when you go to a place that is selling you a product to install you should be able to trust what they are telling you. Have a great day and I look forward to seeing the next episode 👍🏼
Hi Tom Really appreciate that and its been great making contact with john and george they suited my business as we are all similar placed. Stay safe mate ta for the comments 👍Justin
Hi Justin great video great points especially about boys in the merchants about advice, I've been following Johnboy for years hes class to deal with as well ,the boy from tidybricks is quality as well. Awra best from sunny Glasgow
Thanks Allan . Appreciate comments and yes the builders merchants can frustrate me at times lazy communication. Glad you liked the video. I no John personally great person. Be meeting Scott tidy bricks next year both local to me. All the best and welcome form boiling wales 🤣 Justin brickright 👍
Hi Justin thanks for the reply, really envious off your rubi deffo a game changer as johnboy says ,serious money but worth it . I'd be shitting myself if I had one and it went walkies if left in a garden up here overnight. George from matipo is a good lad to deal with as you said got good advice before I got a chopsaw big enough for cutting sleepers. Do your customers ever complain about the time that u spend on filming, not so much with you but with johnboy. Did I see u in one off matipos videos with the cobble border install months ago . Pass on my regards to John when u see him tried to get through to him will try him later awra best for the year ahead look forward to following you . Thanks Allan
Ok Allen I know saw is a worry but its a good part of our kit so hope it stays that way. Yes me and George matipo do share info and half become friends especially on his vlogg .I generally ask customers if they mind me filming before i do it but it only takes us 30 mins a week so no issue .only issue i found with the rubi is its a bit slow 2 hp the raymondi i think it is has 3hp power but its a game changer as John says . Ill speak to him in the new year no dought him and george both good lada to be fair . Thanks Allan . Justin 👍
