Quick note about using Thorium and Calamity together, while doing so is entirely possible, and indeed supported by the dev teams of both mods, conflicts can still occur. Specifically, Calamity's Sulphurous Sea biome always spawns dungeon side, and Thorium's Aquatic Depths always spawns jungle side. This is a good solution made to avoid conflict between two major biomes. However, Thorium's Lich boss is summoned at an altar in the mod's Graveyard biome, which always spawns behind the dungeon. From what I saw, Thorium's Graveyard, and its Lich altar, are generated BEFORE the Sulphurous Sea. This resulted in my Graveyard being overwritten, and I had no Lich altar in my world, so I had to use another mod to add one to my inventory so I could place one myself. Be mindful of worldgen conflicts, people.

I hugely second Magic Storage, makes it so much easier to find items while also being balanced out with the somewhat expensive crafting recipes for better capacity and still needing to take up space to put the storage boxes. Used it in my Calamity playthrough and it was an big help.
Looks like Hero's mod os basically a better version of Cheat Sheet, I'll keep that in mind for next time I wanna mess around

    • @AtomicArtumas
      @AtomicArtumas Год назад +2

tbqh, it's not like magic storage actually takes up space... as you can just build it like 20 blocks below your base and run the connecting "wire" up to the access terminal.
Similar to how you can do most storage mods in Minecraft.
Also I HIGHLY suggest just having all cheat mods active at the same time all the time. At least as far as the big ones go.
There's a LOT of things that each one has that none of the others do - IIRC, Cheat Sheet is the one that allows you to hack in extra accessory slots (though I think there's finally a functional mod that does this to a much larger scale), and one of them has a fullbright feature, one of them has a map exploration feature, magnet feature, etc. and they all like work completely differently from each other.
So I just use them all.
Some of these things are REALLY useful for troubleshooting issues (global magnet fixing lag from mobs dying in lava or similar, for example) or for building purposes (fullbright, full map) - Or, y'know, just having fun not having to spam torches everywhere on your 200th playthrough of the game.

-cerebral mod / esper class / defender class: compiles 4 class mods and 2 of wich are finished , complete with armors and potions and accessorries

This is a old kinda unrelated memory, but one time in 1.3 tmodloader, I was playing with a ton of mods, but the ones important to this memory are lans uncrafting mod, SGA mod, crafting menu, and item checklist. SGA mod has a placeable "crafting station", called the Luminus Alter. Basically, it needed to have unobstructed access to the sky above it, and its crafting recipes depended(mostly) on what moon phase was active, and what items you put in, and crafting with it takes time. Because of how unorthodox the crafting method is, to make it so that the guide(or crafting menu, they work the same) could show the recipes, there's basically these "fake" items like time, moon, a specific moon phase, and solar eclipse, so that the guide/crafting menu could tell you what you need and how long it will take to make it, in the format of a regular crafting recipe. So what I did was get an item that can only be crafted with the Luminus Altar(this was old lans uncrafting mod, you couldn't change items that are part of an any catagory[like any wood or something] into each other yet, and it defaulted to first craft recipe to uncraft it into) and uncraft it. I got the time and moon "fake" items, which is not supposed to ever be possible under any circumstances. What happens because of this is that item checklist doesn't like this, so after later saving and quiting, when I tried to rejoin, it didn't work because item checklist couldn't handle these "fake" items, so for the rest of the play through I was forced to have it off. The funny part is just now I checked Luminus Alter wiki on SGA mod fandom wiki, and I clicked on the "fake" eclipse item, its wiki page said that the item doesn't really exist, and it means that you have to craft it during a solar eclipse. But I by myself, proved this to be wrong in a casual playthrough years ago. And I know its spelled altar, not alter, but I'm just trying to be accurate to the mod.

Personally, I just use the crazy OP extra accessory slots mod these days and then intentionally use only random QoL and minor accessories in most slots.
While you may initially think that it's insanely unbalanced to have, say, another 20 accessory slots...
Tmodloader is now by default 64 bit.
This means you can use dozens of content mods.
Even just one of them, like Fargo's, can end up REQUIRING you to equip like up to 5 extremely situational accessories.
When you start combining all of these situational accessories - The rage/adrenaline ones from calamity, the biome survival ones from stuff like fargo's, thorium and calamity, and the weird but fun movement ones from stuff like Joost or other interesting mods, as well as all the "normal" movement/QoL ones that don't really have "that" big of an effect on boss fights, like wall climbing, etc. - And then start adding in stuff like the PDA family of accessories, which again just massively expand with content mods, and... yeah. I can pretty easily end up with like 50+ accessories I'd want active at once, with almost none of them directly being combat related. Just being like "I don't want to go all the way back to my base every time I want to go to space in eternity mode" or "I don't want to keep forgetting my abyss access gear when I'm done prepping to try this boss again".

A better mod that does the same thing as the "which mod is this from?" mod is the "true tooltips" mod. it basically just specifies various values such as use speed (uses/second), hook reach, hook pull speed, etc. It really is a very useful mod all around, but it can make the tooltip windows for certain items (specifically for a couple weapons from Stars Above) take up the ENTIRE screen, so you may want to dink around in the config menu for a while.

If you guys aren't good with bullet hell (danmaku) games, and you struggle with some of the bosses that rain projectiles upon you like you were playing Touhou, I would also recommend the cheat sheet mod: among others things, it allows to set yourself as fully invincible for as long as you want.
I'ved used it to observe the boss' behaviours until I understood the patterns. And then, I'd walk a bit away, disable invincibility, and get back at it.
If you're into heart statues, this cheet sheet mod also allows to "absorb" every item dropped everywhere else on the map, this way there aren't rogue dropped hearts everywhere that prevent your heart statues from doing their job in your arena.

I don't think you *_need_* the "Boss Cursor" mod. I used to achieve the same thing by having my mini-map altered to the fullscreen version, zoom in *_aaaall_* the way until it's literally on a 1:1 block scale, and it would usually show the boss' position on your screen normally. It might be a bit disorienting to have the mini-map UI over your entire play area, but I manage to get by fine without it... not to mention that if you're going down into a cave that you've already lit (but have no active light sources available), the mini-map basically memorizes and overlays the cave layout for easy traversal. _(Then again, the Magiluminescence or Mining Helmet are cheap to craft / buy.)_

  • @ArgoDevilian

The Stars Above needs be to mentioned. It's not as big as Thorium in terms of content size, but Mechanics wise its crazier than Calamity.
It's also getting updates pretty frequently, with a recent update adding a Cutscene of all things to the game.
The only issue is that the Planetary Travel aspect relies on Subworld Library mod, which isn't exactly stable for Multiplayer and is way less frequently updated.
