That was a masterpiece I never knew there was a book 4. The ending gave me chills. We need this is a TV series immediately

One second after, one year after and 5 years after
They had options on a movie for the first one but things didnt work out from what I recall. Could always be a 3 or 4 season mini-series in the future. Just started book 4.

@@zacknelson8918 Isn't it One Second After, One Year After, The Final Day, Five Years After? so 4 books. Book one was two paprts on here but book two was part 3 and book three is part 4.

What a FANTASTIC series... by far and away the best POST APOCALYPTIC saga I've listened to. I'm a trucker and I listened to the nearly 30hrs of this amazing and heart breaking story with the horrible feeling of just how vulnerable to such an event we actually are , and it scared me.....that said THANK YOU for this eye opening tear jerking ride!!!
P.S. ..... the 1st narrator was definitely the BEST n wish he had done the entire work.✌️

I never thought I would shed a tear listening to a post apocalyptic book but I did several times.So well written and plotted,thank all concerned with bringing it to us.

Thank you for the excellent work and the research that must have been done for the detail. Contrary to an earlier comment posted I believe that the loss estimates are probably not far off. I remember estimates done years ago of the potential loss of life should our power grid go down of being at least 1/3 of the US population dying in the first year. I think that the details to the challenges that were faced are excellent. I had to do a research paper in college environment science. when I presented the paper I asked the other students where do we get bread, trying to demonstrate our contribution to the use of resources. All said Walmart and none even considered that it was delivered from somewhere else. I then asked where Walmart gets it and what if they have none, There was not who could answer or ever even given it thought . The paper was on environmental impact of our culturals tendency to throw things away, to waste. Although it had nothing to do with the electrical grid it demonstrated our dependency on electricity as well as loss of skills as a consequence of that dependency. This book was great and the characters are so realistic and the struggles they have were very realistic.I loved it👍

The author & the reader are magnificent ‼️ I couldn’t get anything thing done til the end of book 4. So many levels of emotion…. I hope another book is put out… it would be hard to have an ending since our world today is facing such uncertainty. This is something that could happen any day or worse. It’s quite scary.
The person who read this story has an amazing voice & presents it with a gentle level all the way to the end.

Absolutely best after apocalypse book series so far. I live across mountains from Ashville on Tennessee side ,brings home some of it to me personally .hope it never happens but today's world it could happen at any minute.

SO glad number 4 came out. This series helps take me out of my body and somewhere else for awhile to escape this constant pain. I get fully mind wrapped in a good story. I have a great imagination so i see a movie in my head as i listen. So glad i have that ability. We didnt have internet or anything like that 3 channels on tv so imagination was better

its funny knowing i live in Charlotte NC . after hearing this story makes me wont to go and see Black Rock Mountain and to see if the town is layout just liked its in this story . That was a masterpiece in writing and narrator , hope to hear more soon ..
It used to be. I grew up in Asheville, visited family in Black Mountain regularly. Went to college in Swannanoa in the early ‘80’s. This describes how Black Mtn was in the 70’s and before. Things have changed SO much since then.
Just wanted you too know how appreciative I am for these down loads, I'm in a very, very bad way and these books are the only things that are giving me some sence of peace. Thank you fr Nova Scotia Canada

if you look on the Wikipedia for the book series. it says that the screenplay is being written for a TV show or movie series. They started Preproduction in 2021. No cast has been announced only screenplay.
I've been a prepper for over a decade. My path down this road...... which to this day I still do not know why it hit me......was EMP and solar flare. That started me down this path and started my prepping. In the grand scheme of things......I had always believed I could manage on my own. With my "STUFF". AND I can. For maybe a yr. Less is additional family show. Live a meager existence on my rice and beans and canned meats and veggies as well as oatmeal and various other stuff. What am I getting at......... the reality of such a disaster as an EMP would absolutely require communities and neighbors to join forces and help. The weeding out process would be swift and painful. I pray that whatever it was that corsed thru me over a decade ago doesn't come to fruition. But current events around the globe are not looking good. I used to think I was nuts. Not any more.

the most fictional part of this story was that the BBC was the source of reliable news.
We left behind 1000s of brand new night vision equipment in Afghanistan. Along with 85 Billion in other equipment. Oh well. Good for the military industrial complex. Refer to around 55:00 for context.

Up to this point it's been a great series. But now listening to this part I am hearing repeated parts from earlier books mixed in here. It's very confusing and to be honest a bit disheartening
