Really useful, thanks, I just bought a place at auction and none of what you described seems to be happening, I have supposedly exchanged and paid the deposit and now nothing is happening

Paid over 2 grand to a recommended local solicitor because i thought it would be good comms and fast. This was not the case. Now I am selling 2 via low cost conveyancing. Both nearly 3.5 months in and still not exchanged and one is a cash buyer! The industry needs an overhaul, it's so BS having to wait so long. I'd pay for an expedited service!

Tbf I’ve had two… but that’s in over 1,000 deals. Although it’s legal, it’s just a bit weird isn’t it

@@JamieYork I wonder how many deals fall through too. We are a month into buying our new home (everyone has found a house, solicitors instructed). Super excited but you just never know what might happen!

Almost 50% through estate agencies unfortunately. Private sales have an 80% success rate.
