I honestly think Big News is easily the most Chaotic Neutral character in the series. You can tell he's a big fan of Luffy but only because of the chaos Luffy brings and is willing to even make up stuff to make Luffy seem more of a violent guy. Of course people like Vivi know Luffy does not kidnap others, but as Morgans says: Truth or not, people care for excitement and you have to admit, he ain't wrong lol

Well the there is a HUGE snag on Morgans plan is that to happen and he needs to see Vegapunk getting into Luffys ship in order for his page to happen, but it still aint happening because there are reasons for that to happen,
1. Shaka has to avoiding keeping Vegapunk safe and let Vegapunk set sail with Luffys ship.
2. The Strawhats cant be traded with the WG by the same traitor.
Because IF Vegapunk is going to be killed, then Moragans plan of Luffy kidnaping wont come true in his opinion.

Morgans, to me reminds me of the Young Justice version of G. Gordan Godfrey; a figure from Apokalypse who has a sort of superhuman charm.
In the series, he poses as a newsman and whenever he talks trash about the superheroes, people BELIEVE HIM (in spite of the fact there are witnesses who could prove his claims otherwise)
"The smartest old man in the world became a baby and now we can't find him," is an amazing sentence that would confuse/frustrate anyone not up-to-date on the chapters😂❤️
I love when franchises get so crazy and convoluted that anything you say sounds absolutely ridiculous and KINDA insane to someone who isn't in the know.

The Vegapunk kidnapping thing could be a way of giving Luffy a bounty buff, and in a way giving him the bounty "he deserves" (by "deserves" implying a bounty higher than Kid, Law and Buggy).

I will forever stand on my opinion that Morgan’s is Oda in the story. The writer wrote himself into the story via a writer. I love it.

I think this chapter confirms that the one reponsible for Buggy's rise to fame was definitely Morgan's doing. He saw the potential in Buggy and manipulated the new and stretched some lies and half-truths.
This is why i knew Sabo didn't kill Cobra and kidnapped Vivi... Morgan can write whatever he want and some fans even thought sabo actually did those stuffs 🤦♂
I think the reason people thought it may've been true was that Morgans was offered a bribe by the government to lie and cover it up. To which he punched the agent to kingdom come. So, if he wasn't willing to lie about the incident. One would think that Morgans in this case wanted to publish the truth.
But that makes this a good twist. He rejected publishing a lie by publishing another lie! no one saw that coming. Even though we actually should've considering how Morgans is.
In I'm way he kind of did, they were planning on killing Cobra because he asked about the Poneglyphs, but because of his reputation being known through our the world they couldn't do it in the holy Land of Mary Geoise, they had to wait until he got home to alabasta, that way they can pin his death on either a former member of the rebel army, or a former member Baroque Works, or even Crocodile himself, but as soon as they saw Sabo and his little gang, they found the perfect fall guy, it's Sabo respect that whom I had a plan and or reason for being there then Cobra wouldn't have died.

Luffy logic in any conflict is they can't discover out plan if we don't have one and it really throws his enemies into loop bc they have no idea what's happening, that same applies for luffy's crew but at this point they are so used to it that they are just unfazed by it and just improvise the rest as they go along and that just creates more chaos and more havoc on the Enemy territory

I love that we're getting more of Luffy and Zoro moments, buy nah, them both laid back relax on the couch with Lucci and Kaku at their feet is some next level disrespect. Zoro's top half is cool, but those pants ain't it 😭

I find it hard to believe that Morgans has more influence than the five elders.....like even Doflamingo(who was just a former celestial dragon) was able to manipulate the news just to trick Law. If a mere ex Celestial Dragon is capable of that, surely the five elders can do much more

Bouncing off that I wonder how exactly did Doffy persuade Morgans to do it. He might have given some juicy juicy info to big bird regarding celestial dragons or smth regarding void century. Considering CP0 was sent to assassinate the bird I don't think it's too far fetched to assume bird has some no-no info in his arsenal.
Doflamingo probably made sure Morgan newspaper never come to his island. He is a underworld broker, he knew Morgan was dangerous.
Remember when Morgan completely disregarded the elders when he changed the picture of Luffy to his sun God form? I'd say he has a bit of power
In this week's chapter Morgans says: "I'm sure the WG will appreciate that spin. Go collect their contribution", which sounds like they actually have some kind of symbiotic relationship. The bird still does whatever he wants, because he's powerful enough to confront the WG. He won't have a "don't publish that", as we've seen. And he probably published the thing about doflamingo because it would chock and stir people up.
I don't know if Morgans really did the WG a favor with this one.
Just think about it: what exactly can the WG do after the paper is distributed?
They can't "remove" Vegapunk because Morgans made sure to point out that he was the beloved scientist that helped the world grow, and if they DO they will have to make it look like Luffy did it, thus giving him an incredible "infamy boost" and potentially draw more people under him.
They can't even say "Vegapunk betrayed us" and then make him disappear for the exact same reason: he is beloved by all, calling the smartest man a traitor and saying he willingly followed Luffy would mean that he saw something in Luffy worth following, potentially increasing Luffy's army.
They also can't make it look like an accident because then THEY would look bad for failing to protect Vegapunk.
So they either let Vegapunk live and have him potentially screwing them over in the long run OR have him taken care of but give Luffy such a massive reputation buff that he would become even more problematic than Whitebeard.
Gotta admit, if this is indeed the case, then Morgans is four parallel universes ahead of everyone
Luffy becoming more problematic to the World Government than Prime White Beard and Prime Roger means that the World Government is finally starting to realize that he’s more a major threat than any of the Rocks Pirates, Gol D. Roger Pirates including Shanks and Buggy, and along with the Revolutionary Army too, and thus that means that the Admirals that aren’t going to save Koby’s life means that they’re forced to go to war with the Strawhat Pirates and the Revolutionaries themselves if the World Government truly does successfully assassinating VegaPunk unlike Nico Robin.

I just felt a shiver, imagining Morgans grinning at an incomprehensible game board, the way Durarara’s Izaya did. I can just hear that bird laughing about how he has the WG tap dancing around a maze of bear traps, and the haven’t even realized what’s happening around them, because they’re too focused on the sun, burning away at the iron fist they have on the world.
I'm also starting to think there's no way Oda will end OP in 3 years, I'd give it a 5 year minimum. He just loves adding more stuff, which we love too lol, but I believe he has enough respect for his sytory to not suddenly rush eveything towards an ending in 3 years time, like Lost did.

I mean to be fair a lot of story can be told in 3 years. It doesn’t seem like much time considering how long one piece has been around but for example look at how much story stuff has happened just since wano. A lot has happened so imagine what a writer of ODa’s caliber can do with that amount of time. I do think your prolly right it’s most likely closer to 5 years than 3 but on one hand there can’t be too many arcs left cus look how he’s positioning all the big players in the story. Everything is weaving together for a climax
If Oda stays on schedule no breaks then yeah I can see it being done in three years but who knows he himself never thought how grand of a story one piece would become
It wasn’t even really three years with Lost lol. They may have known ahead of time they were going to end the series in 3 years but they just kept adding more mysteries not even thinking about what the answers were. Then in the last season they realized they had dug themselves so far in a hole that there was no possible way to answer everything in a satisfying way. So instead they completely deflected by introducing the purgatory storyline and trying to give us a forced happy ending with characters that never got along the entire series. They tried to spin the narrative that the island made everyone’s lives better and it was their fate to go to the island, blatantly ignoring the characters where it made their lives worse and even got them killed. To make us think about the unanswered mysteries even less they made most of the purgatory arc pointless filler with imaginary characters and storylines, then added last minute lore with Jacob and the Smoke monster that barely answered any of the mysteries from the previous series. Lost would have been a great series if the writers actually put in the effort to solve their mysteries instead of constantly trying to one up the previous season by introducing even more weird stuff. Either that or they should have just taken the easy way out and made the island itself purgatory because that’s the only way all the weird stuff that happens can make sense.
Instead they took the easy route but in the worse possible by making everything that happened in the previous seasons real and not bothering to explain most of it. If the island was purgatory a lot of it explains itself. But I guess since the fans theorized this as far back as season 1 and the writers said it wasn’t purgatory then, they were forced to make a terrible hybrid of the logical ending they originally envisioned and the purgatory ending.

What if the reason behind Morgan's headline is to send a message? Same as what Luffy did before the time skip. With that publication, Dragon know where Vegapunk is and know that he's still alive. What if Morgan was on Ohara when Dragon and Vegapunk had their known conversation?

@@lilyblue3205 kind of, sort of. Morgan is smarter than let on because he's a journalist, I'm guessing he knew eventually Vegapunk's neck would be on the line with the government. Knowing Vegapunk has some sort of relationship with Dragon (Morgan had to have been on Ohara after a buster call) it may be a message telling dragon to chill. Just my opinion

@@LolWutMikehSM a call to chill. Let's assume Morgan is as informed as a journalist should be and is aware of Kuma's current situation. Dragon would be pulled in 2 directions. But if he gets word from the newspaper that one problem, Vegapunk, is with his son (a yonko, incredibly strong pirate, and awaken devil fruit user) Dragon can concentrate on Kuma. But again, this is based on if Morgan was on Ohara the same time as Dragon and Vegapunk.
Saying that the Strawhats "kidnap" Vegapunk gives him an out instead of flat out saying he joins the Strawhats out of his own volition. Along with giving the Strawhats an infamy boost it keeps face with the government making them out to be there to save Vegapunk instead of saying they're there to assassinate them, having the Strawhats save Vegapunk and being the "good guys" which I guess in his opinion be less infamy 🤔
I do think they downplayed luffys bounty by splitting kaidos and bigmoms bounty into three pieces making it seem like he is just as much of a threat as kid and law and that Luffy isn't special. But with Morgan forcing their hands by releasing his photo and Luffy "having" vegapunk and Robbin along with everything else I feel like he will get another bounty increase very very soon since they failed at sweeping him under the rug.
If egghead Island blew up that would eliminate the problem of vegapunk knowing to much, since that's his brain all the knowledge would do kaboom

I really wish that Akainu would do something because he mentioned during and Post-Paramount War that whenever he becomes the next Fleet Admiral then he’d massacre all of the Pirates across the New World including the Yonko, but all he has done narratively in the story is being a desk worker that does nothing but desk work, so what was the purpose of Sengoku retiring and having Akainu take over as the next Fleet Admiral if Akainu isn’t going to do anything just like Sengoku hasn’t done anything besides the Paramount War and him stopping Shiki the Golden Lion 🦁.
Morgan is a strong image of our modern media. Everything spins around controlling the narrative, and Morgan rejoices knowing that he controls the masses opinion, along with the social status that this power puts him into.
The wild thing is that we now have everyone on the move. Straw Hats, World Gov, Elders, Revolutionaries, Vegapunk, Blackbeard, Former Warlords, Kid, Law, Kuma, Garp, Koby, Helmeppo, Vivi, Wapol, Morgans, and Shanks!
If we’re not being disingenuous-Law and Coby aren’t “on the move”. So take it easy.
@@GourSmith narratively they are, koby is kidnapped, which is the biggest thing that’s happened for his character since marineford, and law was last seen fighting a yonko, which is a huge deal. We don’t even know how it ended.

I would wager Morgans is a member of the Revolutionary Army. It would make sense then why he would paint Dr Vegapunk as the victim, as if he didn't WANT to flee the military but was forced to by an emperor of the sea. This potentially helps the revolutionary army as if they can "rescue" vegapunk and "convince" him to join their cause that puts them in a very good spot in the public eye, since Vegapunk is a beloved figure. It would also force the Marines to not make drastic actions against the revolutionaries or they will lose support of their people. and i know what you may be thinking, If Morgans had painted a picture where the Marines would be the bad guy. Well it would conceivably make people think that Vegapunk did something terrible instead, and the Marines could shape the narrative.

- Luffy and his ability to recruit people no matter what they say

Idk, Vegapunk might know a lot but that doesn't mean he's gonna tell us anything at all. Consider this, Robin spent 2 years with the revolutionary armies top commanders and has said nothing about any of them. Shes also read several poneglyphs and hasn't read any of them out loud.

I always found it fascinating that even though newspapers were always a thing in One Piece, we didn't actually know what the newspaper was called until Whole Cake Island, and it's in that same arc that we were actually introduced to the president and chief editor of said newspaper. Like, he was always going to be a fascinating character from the get-go, but I'm glad Oda made Morgans such a colorful personality on top of that, as well as a somewhat "Chaotic Neutral" entity who's not really on anyone's "side" and just wants to make entertaining news stories that sell well.

I love where the story is right now. After the slow slog of Wano and it's predictable ending I currently have no idea where the story will go.
We already have so many moving parts, The Straw Hats, The Vegapunks, Bonnie, the Sepharim and Pacifistas, the World Government, the Marines with an Elder Star! Now Big news Morgan with Vivi with some mystery people..
Yet we still may not be done. Like Liam said, Mads seems to be getting more and more relevant and there has never been a more relevant time to see Dragon appear.
I have not a shred of an idea of how this confrontation is going to play out and I love that so much.

For all we know vegapunk's massive brain isn't with vegapunk anymore, it is stored on the island and is connected with him via the apple antenna on his head. Will he be connected with his brain when he leaves the island? I doubt so. That means he might not have all the knowledge he had previously gained when travelling along with luffy(the labo stratum still being on island, it doesn't seem transportable), so voila no spoilers by Vegapunk.

Little detail but I completely missed that Dragon was on the other side of the Red Line. Imagine a climax where the Strawhat Grand fleet + whoever is storming the Red Line from the New World side and the Revolutionary Army is storming from the Paradise side. That would be epic!

Yeah no way One Piece is ending in less than 8 years. Egghead started off super fast paced with less characters to deal with but then in typical Oda fashion, he added Bonney, Kuma, Vegapunk, 6 more Vegapunks, Kizaru, Saint Saturn, CP0, Seraphims, Stussy, you could even count the other plots going on at the same time like BB, Law, Garp, Sword, Morgans, Kidd, Ms.Bakkins etc. We were about to leave Egghead but the arc is just starting out and it doesn't seem like a mini detour arc either. We are going in heavy.

I think if you applied caribou to all the problems in egghead You might have more solutions than you think. How do you hide vegapunk's huge brain? How do you get all the vegapunks on the Sunny? How do you Slip past the world government? With the exception of luffy and zorro whooping kizaru in front of the WG and CP0. Franky With a barren full of caribou gets to the 1000 Sunny and does the old coupe de burst. Possibly whilst fight the admiral who should easily be able to keep up with the flying ship. May even landing on Elbaf thus stopping the persuit..that twist feels like as much as a possibility as idk, Shakka being revealed as Olivia and having had her memories wiped by Kuma for the same of her two, yes two children on board the 1000 Sunny *coughs* Luffy *coughs*

I think so, but I doubt it will end the same way as before. However, I do that after this arc, the next destination for the SH will be where Luffy will have his reunion with Hancock & the Kuja Pirates! In other words, Amazon Lily 2.0!
