What I haven't seen anyone mention, is that he was explicitly acknowledged by the people at Rooster Teeth (the studio) as their main fight scene coordinator. They actually used an older animation system than their contemporaries specifically because he was more practiced and competent with it, and knew how to make fight scenes of the level you see here in it. Well, you may recall he *specifically asks her* if she's too young to be in a nightclub and getting alcohol, then goes along with it anyway when she suggests they kiss. On the subject of age, the first girl, Ruby, is 15, and the other three are all 17. So...
RWBY's a decent show, just keep in mind of potential spoilers and don't let the opinions of others affect your feelings towards the show as you watch through it. It'll be fascinating to see your thoughts throughout the volumes.
Monty made the first pair himself as proof of concept. RT picked it up, hence the voicework, extra characters and plot hints in the second pair. The music is on point throughout the series (soundtracks can be found on spotify), and the animation improves over time. Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Beauty (and her beast), and finally Goldilocks; it's a motif you'll see plenty more of. Their world has some significant differences from ours, which led their civilisation and culture down another path. Be assured that all your questions will eventually be answered; seriously, you're lucky you don't have to wait years for some of them. Avoid spoilers at all costs! This also means staying away from RWBY Chibi until you've finished volume 3 of the main series.
I’m really excited for this! Seeing the progression of the show, seeing it become higher and higher quality is so fun! Also, you are remembering the right show, the first few episodes just don’t have a lot of fighting. XD Also also, most characters are based off of fairy tales or other story characters, something to think about when you meet a new character. Some character’s origins don’t become clear for a while though, so nobody spoil anything!
1: Part of the beauty of the fight animation comes from the fact that (as I understand it) Monty Oum was a dancer before he hurt his knees (no arrows involved) and turned to CG animation. The gods may be cruel at times, but sometimes their cruelty exposes an even greater gift (just really Really pissed they took him away from us so soon.) 2: Fantasy, Steam Punk, Sci-Fi, Anime, Fairy Tale, Mythology, All of these genre's fit when talking about RWBY, even Horror and Comedy. What's truly amazing is how well it all hangs together. 3: The girls Yang fought (Miltia and Melanie) were early concept designs for Ruby and Weiss. Great as they were, I'm so glad they continued to evolve. 4: Its been mentioned by others but I strongly recommend getting a Moderator. The FNDM is sometimes overly (how should I put it?) enthusiastic, and even I will occasionally wander into spoiler territory. Just remember, almost nothing in RWBY is there as filler. Even a Raven flying through the city at night, might have significance later on. 5: The MUSIC!

Great to see you reacting to RWBY Just so you know for reactions, the first episode of each volume ends with the OP for the rest of the volume. Most vocal tracks are done by Casey Lee Williams (who was the female vocalist in the trailers) and her father Jeff Williams throughout the series. There are other artists too as the series goes on. The last episode of each volume includes full credits and a post credits scene. As someone who is hyped for Volume 8 in a few months, I hope you enjoy the show.
The music is key to the RWBY experience. The song for the Red Trailer is 'Red Like Roses, Pt 1.' For White it's 'Mirror, Mirror.' For Black it's 'From Shadows, Part 1.' For Yellow, there are remixes from each of the previous songs, and then you get 'I Burn.' The music is composed by Jeff Williams, and the lyricist is his daughter, Casey Lee Williams. Jeff was the one to suggest to Monty that the grave Ruby visited belonged to her mother. Monty was a strong animator and fight choreographer, but not so good at constructing and telling stories. That's why he got Miles and Kerry to help him.
The music is what brought us into the series.. Casey and Jeff Williams do the music in the beginning and the Alex Abraham came in to help and co-opt the score. Casey was ~13 when she recorded the music for these trailers.. she's now 21 and still sounding amazing on the tracks.
Always happy to see another person reacting to RWBY! Glad your friend told you about the trailers, it's helpful to watch them before the series because there are some things from the trailers that will reappear in the series. BTW - Monty Oum, who animated the Red trailer by himself as a proof-of-concept for getting the show into production, said that the Red trailer is "out of character" for Ruby, as she slices and dices through the beowolfs. The music is amazing in the series. Jeff Williams writes the songs, and his daughter Casey Lee does most of the singing. Casey was 14 when the Red trailer was released, although I've heard that she may have been as young as 13 when she recorded it. And she is still singing the songs today (the V7 OST was released very recently). I would recommend reacting to the OST after you finish watching the episodes in the season (chapters in the volume, in RWBY-speak). Good catch on the music remix in the Yellow trailer! All of the songs from the previous trailers make a club remix appearance in this one, before the Yellow song (I Burn) takes over at the end.

Masterminded by the late great Monty Oum with help from Miles and Kerry of Roosterteeth, and with a banging soundtrack produced by Jeff and Casey-Lee Williams (which some consider better than the show itself), this is sure to be a hell of a ride. "The best animation!"... Red was done by one person as a proof of concept over about two weeks, White only had a few people. This is still awesome animation, but it only gets better throughout the series... other than one silly scene of someone jumping along the rooftops, lol. By the third and fourth trailers they had a lot more talent on it. Monty said in an interview once that he wished he could have done the RWBY trailer better Someone may have said already, but the soundtrack's singer was 14 when she did these.
YES! Another RWBY reactor to watch. I love seeing people get into the series. As a fair warning the early stuff didn't have much in the way of budget or manpower, but it steadily improves as the series goes on. The voice acting also improves as the actors get more used to their roles and characters. One of my favorite things about rewatching the series is seeing just how far we have come.
If i recall correctly the red trailer is one of Ruby's dreams (the red trailer is the creators pitch to rooster teeth if they would make it a show and it worked! he did the entire red trailer BY HIMSELF! he was very passionate of his work but sadly he died of an allergic reaction in 2015 but he had notes to go up to 10 volumes planed out, so the CRWBY (people who work on and write the show) carry on his story but have to fill some gaps in between plot events), but she is still fairly badass at this stage and later down the line she becomes a big badass slowly). edit: The quotes are foreshadowing but i shall not spoil and only Ruby and Yang are half-sisters but that is not that important in a way

Great reactions, in case you don't know, most people can react to the entirety of RWBY without being impacted by any DMCA hence why most reactions are the entire episode not cut down like most other shows.

I remember first watching this, I loved (and still do) the first and second trailers. There's something almost mystical about them, Ruby's was suprising and packed a lot of punch and I quite love the dancer-esque fighting style of Weiss. Unfortunately I dropped the show at the end of Volume 5, there were some issues I had with the storytelling, plot, and characters that I couldn't see past, but I hope you enjoy watching RWBY.
The shattered moon was a constant too, and in every trailer was always one scene where the girl jump and we see her face in slow motion as they see her targets from the sky. PS. OMG i loved your Doctor Who reactions and now you will react to RWBY too? This channel is amazing! :D

Welcome to RWBY! It's always nifty to see people I already sub to start the show. Just as a heads up, people spoil a lot of stuff. Some not intentionally because they're just so excited you're reacting, and some intentionally. My recommendation is... don't let anyone tell you a specific character or volume is garbage. There are a lot of strong opinions in the fandom and they have a tendency to try to poison other opinions before reactors can even get to experience things for themselves. Enjoy the show and make up your own mind on who your favorite character is or which volume you like or don't like.
Hey,its it's a new RWBY reactor... and... subscribed. One suggestion for you: Get yourself a moderator for your comments section who already knows the series. RWBY fans can be great, but dang, they can be spoilery to new reactors. Second suggestion: Take notes. There's a lot of names and characters, and there's a lot of things you will want to take a note of as there is a good bit of important worldbuilding and infodumps thruout the series. Looking forward to you taking this journey.

for yellows trailer the music is a combination of the first three songs that have been slightly remixed and it also has yangs personal "theme" like song called I burn, the music for this show is dope so you should definitely listen to it, and as for the super saiyan joke I pretty sure its in the song I burn lol
That was great, you picked up on so many things most people get wrong the first time they see these, like the scar on Weiss's eye, which tells you that was a flashback, not some imaginary sequence. I watched the trailers before I watched episode one, and it was incredible, not knowing what was coming. I mean, I'd seen Red vs Blue, so I knew a bit about what to expect from Monty, but it still blew me away. ^_^ I think at this time pretty much all the animation, especially on the trailers, and the action sequences, was still being done by Monty Oum, the show's creator, himself. Pretty incredible. The music was done by Jeff Williams, and that's his daughter Casey Lee on the lead vocals. I think she was 15 at the time. Interestingly, when Weiss (the girl from the White trailer) sings, that's Casey lee, but when she talks, it's her voice actress Kara Eberle. I like your black acoustic guitar in the background by the way, and your Naruto headband ^_^
Thing about RWBY is, from someone who’s watched it since the beginning and is up to date. The animation and acting can be a slow burn at first, but it’s a great show as they progress. I hope you see it through! :)

Now, I know you're up to Volume 6 and the BIG REVEAL there at the time of me watching your reaction here. Now that you're there, you understand just how deep the series has gotten, and you've only just now barely scratched the surface. You weren't wrong, well not entirely. RWBY started with the Red trailer and was first uploaded to youtube years ago. Also, some FYI. Monty Oum, the late creator of the show also voiced Lie Ren for the first volume. The poem / lyrics to Red like Roses (Part 1) are also extremely significant to the series. Red like roses fills my dreams and brings me to the place you rest White is cold and always lonely, burdened by the royal test Black, the beast, descends from shadow Yellow beauty burns gold. The scythe, Crescent Rose, is also a high-powered sniper rifle (think a Barrett Light-Fifty), and the animation here was literally just Monty showing off. As for the significance of the songs, they also tell a story, and reflect a LOT of what is going on for the characters. This is a breakdown of the character's capabilities [based upon as far as you currently are within the series]. (Little Red Riding Hood) Ruby Rose - Weapon: Crescent Rose - Semblance: Extreme Speed & The ability to discorporate into, and travel as, rose petals. (Snow White) Weiss Schnee - Weapon: Myrtenaster - Semblance: Glyphs, Time Dilation, and Summoning (Beauty & The Beast) Blake Belladonna - Weapon: Gambol Shroud - Semblance: Shadows (Can be augmented with DUST for elemental effects) (Goldilocks) Yang Xiao Long - Weapon: Ember Celica - Semblance: Burn - She is able to absorb the damage she has taken thus far in a fight, and dish it back out twice as powerfully in a single (or a flurry) of attacks. Weiss Schnee's weapon, Myrtenaster functions similarly to a revolver in how it can be chambered with multiple DUST cartridges, and can activate those cartridges to create elemental effects, like the Fire, Ice, and Lightning that you saw in her trailer. To address Blake's outfit, she is wearing her bow in the trailer, but yes, she does have kitty ears. Blake Belladonna is a Cat Faunus, like her mother, Kali. To address Adam's fighting style, he uses what appears to be a variation of the traditional Iaijutsu style practiced in Japanese martial arts, specifically made famous by the Samurai who had taken the art of drawing their weapon and striking with it in the fastest way possible. Also, to put their 'mission' into perspective for you, there is a moment in Volume 1 (or 2) when Weiss mentions the White Fang and how they keep attacking the DUST shipments from the SDC (Schnee Dust Company), where she specifically mentions how a train was robbed and everyone onboard was killed by the White Fang. That shipment and train robbery was featured in Blake's trailer. When they started, it was just Monty doing the writing and animation (for the Red trailer), and then they got Jeff and Casey Lee Williams to produce the musical score. The 'Super Saiyan' reference IS intentional, and it is even part of the lyrics of her song, "I Burn" ( ruclips.net/video/Yi1dsNY7nFw/видео.html ) "Are they all sisters?" No, but they do have a very deep, familial relationship that is built over the course of the series. Yang Xiao Long (Yellow) and Ruby Rose (Red) are, however, half-sisters. (Same father, different mothers, and the only reason I'm saying this here in the comment is because I know you're already far enough in the series to have learned this). Now...with regards to the musicians. Jeff Williams and his daughter, Casey Lee Williams are the primary performers for all of the music in RWBY. They occasionally have guest vocalists in some of the tracks (like "I Burn" feat. Lamar Hall), but for the most part it is Casey singing and Jeff doing everything else.
@@zoharamitai8719 I forgot about the whip part. But it's called a "kusarigama" Basically it's like a scythe with a short handle attached to a whip/rope for more range and movement. Like scorpion's kunai and chain. Except more for slashing instead of piercing. It can Pierce too tho.
A lot of people have told you that Jeff Williams writes the music and that his daughter Casey sings, sometimes with him singing too, like in the black trailer. But the crazy part is Casey was 14 when she recorded this, yes, that opera bit n the white trailer is a 14 year old. And react or at least listen to the soundtrack for the volume with the lyrics, the songs are some made from the characters perspectives and tell you a lot about who they are as people.
The whole series (RWBY) roughly uses The Wizard of Oz as its overall story template. As you already guessed, Ruby Rose is based on Little Red Riding Hood. Weiss Schnee (the singer/dancer) wields a rapier much like a magic wand and is probably closest to a stereotypical anime "magical girl"; her name in German is literally "White Snow" (i.e. Snow White). Your favorite (Yang) is loosely inspired by Goldilocks (did you notice the DJ wearing the Bear costume?)...I'll let you guess about Blake & her Partner Adam, but they too are inspired by a different fairy tale.
The graphics get better after season 3. They begin using Autodesk Maya instead of Poser Pro. the series are about 1 hour each until season 4 where they're about movie length. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Ruby's theme is more 'bloom,' while Adam's is 'wilt.' In fact his weapons are called _Wilt_ and _Blush_ . Ruby's _Crescent Rose_ is a high-calibre sniper scythe. Weiss's is a revolver rapier. Yang's is a pair of shotgun gauntlets (all their names are contained in one trailer or another, so not spoilers).
Hope you enjoy the show, always fun when someone starts this journey. Fine to group chapters together, especially in the first couple of volumes they often had to be cut due to time constraints. They'll usually be labelled pt 1 and 2 where that's happened. Somebody will probably be along soon with a full play list. There are little extra episodes, 'World of Remnant' stories that flesh out some of the lore. Worth watching, but can be a bit spoilery if you get them out of sequence. The tone of the show is a bit hard to pin down. Early Volumes are driven by a lot of comedy and Monty's amazing fight choreography. It never quite loses that, but it goes a fair bit darker, becoming much more story and character driven. Oh,and you asked for something to draw the trailers together: the music playing in the club is remixes of the themes from the other 3 trailers :) The music is amazing in this series, lyrics are actually relevant to the plot, some reactors react to the soundtracks separately.
that first one was entirely the originator's work(disregarding the song, natch). his 'introduction' of the series to the peeps he apparently needed to convince about his concept. shame he fell away. I'm fairly sure we'd be awaiting the continuation of a much better show by now if he'd still been around. HE was a master of the craft. the regular RT-chumps? well, just look at their youtube page and you'll see how fit they are to do anything with a high standard. Anyway, always happy to see another catch an interest in the show. those first few seasons were a masterpiece. then RT was left alone to make all the decisions(admittedly, probably under a heavy demand to make money from daddy WarnerMedia). and while there are still good things to be said about the show, one can't help but dream about what could have been...
It's always a good day when I find a new RWBY reaction! One of my old favorites (Jake Retake) took down his entire reaction series the other day, and an old friend of mine decided to cut all ties with me so he could "focus on finding himself". Those events put me in a pretty bad mood until I saw this! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts! By the way, the singer of the Red trailer was somewhere between 13-15 years old when she recorded that song. The father of her (the singer) writes most of the music, too! Also, I've heard that the person who came up with RWBY (rest in peace Monty Oum) made that entire first trailer by himself in one week while working on other projects during the same time period!

I’m really excited for this! Seeing the progression of the show, seeing it become higher and higher quality is so fun! Also, you are remembering the right show, the first few episodes just don’t have a lot of fighting. XD Also also, most characters are based off of fairy tales or other story characters, something to think about when you meet a new character. Some character’s origins don’t become clear for a while though, so nobody spoil anything!
I think that’s what makes it more special to the views that the show and cast and music grow with it getting better and better xxx
1: Part of the beauty of the fight animation comes from the fact that (as I understand it) Monty Oum was a dancer before he hurt his knees (no arrows involved) and turned to CG animation. The gods may be cruel at times, but sometimes their cruelty exposes an even greater gift (just really Really pissed they took him away from us so soon.)
2: Fantasy, Steam Punk, Sci-Fi, Anime, Fairy Tale, Mythology, All of these genre's fit when talking about RWBY, even Horror and Comedy. What's truly amazing is how well it all hangs together.
3: The girls Yang fought (Miltia and Melanie) were early concept designs for Ruby and Weiss. Great as they were, I'm so glad they continued to evolve.
4: Its been mentioned by others but I strongly recommend getting a Moderator. The FNDM is sometimes overly (how should I put it?) enthusiastic, and even I will occasionally wander into spoiler territory. Just remember, almost nothing in RWBY is there as filler. Even a Raven flying through the city at night, might have significance later on.

Just so you know for reactions, the first episode of each volume ends with the OP for the rest of the volume. Most vocal tracks are done by Casey Lee Williams (who was the female vocalist in the trailers) and her father Jeff Williams throughout the series. There are other artists too as the series goes on.
The last episode of each volume includes full credits and a post credits scene.
As someone who is hyped for Volume 8 in a few months, I hope you enjoy the show.

The music is key to the RWBY experience. The song for the Red Trailer is 'Red Like Roses, Pt 1.' For White it's 'Mirror, Mirror.' For Black it's 'From Shadows, Part 1.' For Yellow, there are remixes from each of the previous songs, and then you get 'I Burn.' The music is composed by Jeff Williams, and the lyricist is his daughter, Casey Lee Williams. Jeff was the one to suggest to Monty that the grave Ruby visited belonged to her mother. Monty was a strong animator and fight choreographer, but not so good at constructing and telling stories. That's why he got Miles and Kerry to help him.

The music is what brought us into the series.. Casey and Jeff Williams do the music in the beginning and the Alex Abraham came in to help and co-opt the score. Casey was ~13 when she recorded the music for these trailers.. she's now 21 and still sounding amazing on the tracks.

Always happy to see another person reacting to RWBY! Glad your friend told you about the trailers, it's helpful to watch them before the series because there are some things from the trailers that will reappear in the series.
BTW - Monty Oum, who animated the Red trailer by himself as a proof-of-concept for getting the show into production, said that the Red trailer is "out of character" for Ruby, as she slices and dices through the beowolfs.
The music is amazing in the series. Jeff Williams writes the songs, and his daughter Casey Lee does most of the singing. Casey was 14 when the Red trailer was released, although I've heard that she may have been as young as 13 when she recorded it. And she is still singing the songs today (the V7 OST was released very recently). I would recommend reacting to the OST after you finish watching the episodes in the season (chapters in the volume, in RWBY-speak).
Good catch on the music remix in the Yellow trailer! All of the songs from the previous trailers make a club remix appearance in this one, before the Yellow song (I Burn) takes over at the end.

"The best animation!"... Red was done by one person as a proof of concept over about two weeks, White only had a few people. This is still awesome animation, but it only gets better throughout the series... other than one silly scene of someone jumping along the rooftops, lol. By the third and fourth trailers they had a lot more talent on it. Monty said in an interview once that he wished he could have done the RWBY trailer better

YES! Another RWBY reactor to watch. I love seeing people get into the series. As a fair warning the early stuff didn't have much in the way of budget or manpower, but it steadily improves as the series goes on. The voice acting also improves as the actors get more used to their roles and characters. One of my favorite things about rewatching the series is seeing just how far we have come.
If i recall correctly the red trailer is one of Ruby's dreams (the red trailer is the creators pitch to rooster teeth if they would make it a show and it worked! he did the entire red trailer BY HIMSELF! he was very passionate of his work but sadly he died of an allergic reaction in 2015 but he had notes to go up to 10 volumes planed out, so the CRWBY (people who work on and write the show) carry on his story but have to fill some gaps in between plot events), but she is still fairly badass at this stage and later down the line she becomes a big badass slowly).

Credit has to be given to the late Monty Oum. All of the fight choreography and animation styles are his work. The man was a legend and I feel like he doesn't get the recognition he deserves anymore since his passing.

Great reactions, in case you don't know, most people can react to the entirety of RWBY without being impacted by any DMCA hence why most reactions are the entire episode not cut down like most other shows.

I remember first watching this, I loved (and still do) the first and second trailers. There's something almost mystical about them, Ruby's was suprising and packed a lot of punch and I quite love the dancer-esque fighting style of Weiss. Unfortunately I dropped the show at the end of Volume 5, there were some issues I had with the storytelling, plot, and characters that I couldn't see past, but I hope you enjoy watching RWBY.

Welcome to RWBY! It's always nifty to see people I already sub to start the show. Just as a heads up, people spoil a lot of stuff. Some not intentionally because they're just so excited you're reacting, and some intentionally. My recommendation is... don't let anyone tell you a specific character or volume is garbage. There are a lot of strong opinions in the fandom and they have a tendency to try to poison other opinions before reactors can even get to experience things for themselves. Enjoy the show and make up your own mind on who your favorite character is or which volume you like or don't like.

for yellows trailer the music is a combination of the first three songs that have been slightly remixed and it also has yangs personal "theme" like song called I burn, the music for this show is dope so you should definitely listen to it, and as for the super saiyan joke I pretty sure its in the song I burn lol
That was great, you picked up on so many things most people get wrong the first time they see these, like the scar on Weiss's eye, which tells you that was a flashback, not some imaginary sequence. I watched the trailers before I watched episode one, and it was incredible, not knowing what was coming. I mean, I'd seen Red vs Blue, so I knew a bit about what to expect from Monty, but it still blew me away. ^_^ I think at this time pretty much all the animation, especially on the trailers, and the action sequences, was still being done by Monty Oum, the show's creator, himself. Pretty incredible. The music was done by Jeff Williams, and that's his daughter Casey Lee on the lead vocals. I think she was 15 at the time. Interestingly, when Weiss (the girl from the White trailer) sings, that's Casey lee, but when she talks, it's her voice actress Kara Eberle. I like your black acoustic guitar in the background by the way, and your Naruto headband ^_^

Thing about RWBY is, from someone who’s watched it since the beginning and is up to date. The animation and acting can be a slow burn at first, but it’s a great show as they progress. I hope you see it through! :)

Now that you're there, you understand just how deep the series has gotten, and you've only just now barely scratched the surface.
You weren't wrong, well not entirely. RWBY started with the Red trailer and was first uploaded to youtube years ago.
Also, some FYI. Monty Oum, the late creator of the show also voiced Lie Ren for the first volume.
The poem / lyrics to Red like Roses (Part 1) are also extremely significant to the series.

The scythe, Crescent Rose, is also a high-powered sniper rifle (think a Barrett Light-Fifty), and the animation here was literally just Monty showing off.
As for the significance of the songs, they also tell a story, and reflect a LOT of what is going on for the characters.
This is a breakdown of the character's capabilities [based upon as far as you currently are within the series].
(Little Red Riding Hood) Ruby Rose - Weapon: Crescent Rose - Semblance: Extreme Speed & The ability to discorporate into, and travel as, rose petals.
(Snow White) Weiss Schnee - Weapon: Myrtenaster - Semblance: Glyphs, Time Dilation, and Summoning
(Beauty & The Beast) Blake Belladonna - Weapon: Gambol Shroud - Semblance: Shadows (Can be augmented with DUST for elemental effects)
(Goldilocks) Yang Xiao Long - Weapon: Ember Celica - Semblance: Burn - She is able to absorb the damage she has taken thus far in a fight, and dish it back out twice as powerfully in a single (or a flurry) of attacks.
Weiss Schnee's weapon, Myrtenaster functions similarly to a revolver in how it can be chambered with multiple DUST cartridges, and can activate those cartridges to create elemental effects, like the Fire, Ice, and Lightning that you saw in her trailer.
To address Blake's outfit, she is wearing her bow in the trailer, but yes, she does have kitty ears. Blake Belladonna is a Cat Faunus, like her mother, Kali.
To address Adam's fighting style, he uses what appears to be a variation of the traditional Iaijutsu style practiced in Japanese martial arts, specifically made famous by the Samurai who had taken the art of drawing their weapon and striking with it in the fastest way possible.
Also, to put their 'mission' into perspective for you, there is a moment in Volume 1 (or 2) when Weiss mentions the White Fang and how they keep attacking the DUST shipments from the SDC (Schnee Dust Company), where she specifically mentions how a train was robbed and everyone onboard was killed by the White Fang.
That shipment and train robbery was featured in Blake's trailer.
When they started, it was just Monty doing the writing and animation (for the Red trailer), and then they got Jeff and Casey Lee Williams to produce the musical score.
The 'Super Saiyan' reference IS intentional, and it is even part of the lyrics of her song, "I Burn" ( ruclips.net/video/Yi1dsNY7nFw/видео.html )

No, but they do have a very deep, familial relationship that is built over the course of the series.
Yang Xiao Long (Yellow) and Ruby Rose (Red) are, however, half-sisters. (Same father, different mothers, and the only reason I'm saying this here in the comment is because I know you're already far enough in the series to have learned this).
Now...with regards to the musicians.
Jeff Williams and his daughter, Casey Lee Williams are the primary performers for all of the music in RWBY. They occasionally have guest vocalists in some of the tracks (like "I Burn" feat. Lamar Hall), but for the most part it is Casey singing and Jeff doing everything else.

But the crazy part is Casey was 14 when she recorded this, yes, that opera bit n the white trailer is a 14 year old. And react or at least listen to the soundtrack for the volume with the lyrics, the songs are some made from the characters perspectives and tell you a lot about who they are as people.

The whole series (RWBY) roughly uses The Wizard of Oz as its overall story template. As you already guessed, Ruby Rose is based on Little Red Riding Hood. Weiss Schnee (the singer/dancer) wields a rapier much like a magic wand and is probably closest to a stereotypical anime "magical girl"; her name in German is literally "White Snow" (i.e. Snow White). Your favorite (Yang) is loosely inspired by Goldilocks (did you notice the DJ wearing the Bear costume?)...I'll let you guess about Blake & her Partner Adam, but they too are inspired by a different fairy tale.

The graphics get better after season 3. They begin using Autodesk Maya instead of Poser Pro. the series are about 1 hour each until season 4 where they're about movie length.

Fine to group chapters together, especially in the first couple of volumes they often had to be cut due to time constraints. They'll usually be labelled pt 1 and 2 where that's happened.
Somebody will probably be along soon with a full play list. There are little extra episodes, 'World of Remnant' stories that flesh out some of the lore. Worth watching, but can be a bit spoilery if you get them out of sequence.
The tone of the show is a bit hard to pin down. Early Volumes are driven by a lot of comedy and Monty's amazing fight choreography. It never quite loses that, but it goes a fair bit darker, becoming much more story and character driven.

that first one was entirely the originator's work(disregarding the song, natch). his 'introduction' of the series to the peeps he apparently needed to convince about his concept. shame he fell away. I'm fairly sure we'd be awaiting the continuation of a much better show by now if he'd still been around. HE was a master of the craft. the regular RT-chumps? well, just look at their youtube page and you'll see how fit they are to do anything with a high standard. Anyway, always happy to see another catch an interest in the show. those first few seasons were a masterpiece. then RT was left alone to make all the decisions(admittedly, probably under a heavy demand to make money from daddy WarnerMedia). and while there are still good things to be said about the show, one can't help but dream about what could have been...

One of my old favorites (Jake Retake) took down his entire reaction series the other day, and an old friend of mine decided to cut all ties with me so he could "focus on finding himself". Those events put me in a pretty bad mood until I saw this! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts! By the way, the singer of the Red trailer was somewhere between 13-15 years old when she recorded that song. The father of her (the singer) writes most of the music, too! Also, I've heard that the person who came up with RWBY (rest in peace Monty Oum) made that entire first trailer by himself in one week while working on other projects during the same time period!
