99 per cent of the time it’s quickly sorted once the car drivers give the truck space and someone guides the driver.
Sadly most people find it’s easier to block the truck in then sit in their cars complaining.

The laws very lax about such things but if a driver is given a route by the office then he is bound by law and the insurance policy to follow it unless, a part of the route is closed or it infringes some other rule. A polish driver was sent out with a double decker trailer for delivery to Focus DIY store. Unfortunately the office gave him the route for a lower trailer and he ended up writing the trailer off under a low bridge. The police had to accept his excuse and could not prosecute the driver because he was legally bound to follow the route he was given.
I believe the haulage company paid for any damage to the bridge but what got my goat was they refused to prosecute the company for they're obvious mistake.
Hope this helps. The moral of the story is that since the Thatcher days, there has been no fair justice system in this country so beware.

That's why there's no one lining up for HGV jobs in UK. Those roundabouts are everywhere and GB already has narrow streets and all sorts of structures built near the edges of the roads, so that they are impossible to pass with an articulated lorry. Some drivers make mistakes by taking a wrong route but often with delivering construction materials there's no other way. This isn't just this instance, ask any driver that has been to UK and continental Europe, which of the countries have it worse. Some might say Norway or Denmark because of extreme weather and strict transport police, but that applies mostly about inexperienced drivers. UK has it worst just by ignorant road and traffic planning alone.

I just do not get it. Most HGVs just go on millimeters from hitting stuff. It's absurdly bad. It's designed to be flawed and inconvenient. Not to mention dangerous and it can cause a lot of financial damage.

Loads of roads that lorries are allowed to drive on UK have been build for horses and carriages hence should not be used for massive vehicles yet they are. It is more of wild west as every one just trying to get through a to b through any road that it can be done. Same time roads are being fixed but never for long time as it would be counter productive from financial side. Finally there are way to many cars in the world with make driving hard.

Unless someone is shifting supermarket trucks daily and issued with maps/instructions for a particular store it's up to the driver to navigate to the destination avoiding the bridges and weight limits. I'm old school and used street maps so learned the junction I wanted was just after say the post office or school marked on the map but nowadays sat nav is the usual solution though many are totally lost without it as they follow the instructions and barely notice what landmarks they are passing or remember the name of an industrial estate they visited the previous week.

      They do.
In this case, it's the roads that need to change as the vehicles don't.
The radius of the roundabout should be compliant for that vehicle, it's large but not the largest.
