    Great video! Was about to go on amazon and get an air compresser! I just went tubless and was not having any luck with my foot pump, just spraying sealant on the foor. Setting the bead was a game changer.

    Thanks so much for this. First time replacing a tubeless tyre myself today (Ground Controls) and it worked a treat. I found just going about 1/4 of the way round the rim on each side was sufficient in my case (with a floor pump). Cheers!

    You could also inflate the tyre with a tube to pop all the beads in. Open one side, take tube out, and do this process just on that open side. That's what I do at least.

      @@jackburton2680 what do you mean? You just take the tube out, including the valve, put the tubeless valve back in and inflate to pop the beans of that side without worrying about the other side

    Good idea! Unfortunately it only works with wide rims and/or tight tires. Tried it with floppy 50mm tires that you can get on the rim with your bare hands, and this method was hopeless.

    Great video.
    On trail with tubeless sealant already on it. I really struggled to get the beads to stay in place.
    Should I forget that as needs to be dry?
    It kept kinda sliding off while I was using the leaver.
    Cheers Mike.

      With sealant on it, it is a lot harder to reseat. One thing I recommend is only remove one side of the tire if possible. That way one side is already seated. Then try to reseat the other side. It can be tricky but is possible.

    Well..I spent a LOT of time with an air compressor assuming it would be able to blow the tire out to the rim...but I was sorely mistaken ...and then I kicked over the Stan's Tubes goop onto the floor...and it was a lesson learned that I had to know that I was not as skilled as I thought I was.

    I cannot get the beading to stay on the edge to work on the 2.6 Hans Dampf, If you ever try this on your polygon I'd be interested to know. I have the T8, so the same tyres and wheelset. My thumbs now need a break

    • @lesterfalcon1350
      @lesterfalcon1350 Месяц назад

      Took a break came back to it, success, with a mini pump too. I tried the motocross cargo strap technique. Put the strap around the circumference of the tyre, pull it tight to compress the tyre. this helps push the bead out. I think it may also help with pumping, due to the reduced volume. Then with a thump on each wall pull the beading out til it seats as well as you can, get it as tight as you can. Then pump. If it not inflating see if the bead is not quite right somewhere work your way around the whole tyre with both thumbs working ware from each other. And pump again. Once it has enough pressure, remove the strap and fully inflate.

      @jackburton2680 Месяц назад

      I have those same tires and this method is impossible by my experience. The bead simply doesn't stay in place as I work around the tire.

      @@jackburton2680 Did you see my follow up comment about using the motocross cargo strap method. I've now seated my tyres 3 times this way (Front I redid and the back once), And it went smoothly all three times. That was after about 3 hours trying all the other hacks.

    • @jackburton2680
      @jackburton2680 Месяц назад

      @@lesterfalcon1350 I did. Don't got such a strap laying around though. I'll prob just seat one side by inflating it with a tube installed, then pull tube out and hopefully reseat it fully.

      @@jackburton2680 Strap I used was for rings, so not really that wide. If your inner tube method fails (did for me) then maybe rope or cord wrapped around 2-3 times would substitute for the strap.

    Sorry to say but, this only work in ideal situation like yours - having a relatively new tire. Now, try the same ish with a tire that has gone on & off the rim a few times & with old gunked up sealant on the entire circumference of the edges of the tires, then we can talk.
