One of my favorite things is listening to funny people just chit chatting for a very long time. . Much more actually than a scripted skit or a stand up 💗
hearing julio not know what iSpy books are..... his whole vibe IS iSpy books
I just watched Julio's last 92Y with Fred Armisen earlier today. So I'm pretty sure I willed this into existence, please enjoy.
Bowen was such a great interviewer. And Julio such a great interviewee. I wish I could listen to them for hours and hours.
Oh so interesting that they wrote Cheques from SNL... Its a skit I come back to over and over... so well written!
So charming, as well as helpful for generating a list of SNL sketches to catch. I watched Bowen's Chuck E Cheese piece approx 5 trillion times. Same for Julio's Papyrus. Blessings upon them both.
Why do you find those sketches so funny if I may ask, I'm curious?
@@leif1075 oh, where to begin? Both sketches require an effete sense of the absurd, which means they reside squarely in my wheelhouse. Both are high concept.
Chuck E Cheese is not only well-written, it's professionally performed. No sideways glances towards cue cards. Time was taken and preparations were made. As for the content of the sketch, it's difficult to explain why something is funny. I remember the era of those bands and the idea of one performing for children is crazy in just the right way. Finally, Benedict's voice, timing, movement are more proof of his magnificent abilities.
As for the Papyrus sketch, I guess you could say that font humor slays me. It's about a specific form of graphic design snobbery. There's a well known McSweeney's short piece that also takes aim at crappy font humor called "I'm comic sans…” in which Papyrus makes an appearance.
Ryan Gosling is all in and his character is right! The various stereotypical applications of Papyrus font are just something you notice when you're studying design and learning about font choice. I am someone who has watched a movie about Helvetica; I understand font obsession.
I hope that helps.
I just stared at Julio’s arm jewelry the whole time…hubba hubba
"Cheques" is one of my favourite SNL sketches!
I can watch these two talking forever
I loved both of these brilliant comedians as soon as I became aware of them! I first saw Julio a few years ago on a late night show, while Bowen was immediately noticeable starting with his first SNL skit. I hadn’t realized Julio had written for SNL as well until this interview.
Less of an interview more of a skit… love it!
Checks was so good! I love that sketch!
Just bought the book. You got me, gal.
great interview, I love both these guys ❤
Julio is so adorable, great chat gays
best q&a everrr
Bowen ... You are doing a very important thing. Everyone is acceptable.
I bought the book!!
💖💖💖💖💖💖
"How do they do it?" - You're doing it!
Please make an adult illustrated version with still life photography. Same story, but still life.
Los Espookies YREAH
I thought there would be a link to the book. Or the movie.
I loved Bewitched too 😅😅
Is anyone else upset that SNL just turn down the Chef Boyardee sketch
❤❤❤❤❤Bowen is such a babe. Everyone gets anxiety, it’s human😂
putting best friends on stage with an audience -- must be so awkward lol
normal girl special occasion hair 😂
Someone needs to send a copy of Julio's book to every cast member at Fox News. 😁
No
@@Alesae132 Why, you don't believe they could benefit from a little storytime on what it means to be different? You don't think their racism, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, etc. might warrant a little gifting of his wonderful book?
“Cast member” 💯
i adore torres, but who is the one on the left ?
paying for improv classes lmaaaaaao
I SPY! Yes!
I love both these guys but how many times can you say “like”.
Yeah, unfortunately that’s how people talk these days, but they’re still funny!
so not having children's books is the key to success, i guess... and yas Torreses for the sex book in the living room, i heard it was hard to get a copy
After criticizing commercialism at the end, Julio says buy the children's book..am Ibte only one who thought that might be hypocritical...or was it a joke?
Well...the entire point of the talk is to hawk the book. I'm going to go with irony as an explanation.
They look like figs
Don't know who Julio Torres is, but unfortunately this 'very rehearsed' interview doesn't make me want to find out more about either person in this video. American humour is way off the mark with audiences in Europe. And stop intellectualising children's books...it's insulting.
to much gayness😵💫😅😆
is this a toast? to much gayness! 🍺
Here, Here. To Much Gayness!
How much gayness is acceptable to you? When they are GAY!!!
Far too much 😵💫🤪 might cvm
