I love the fact that this school is so supportive of keeping puppetry, animatronic, and robotic aspects of movie making alive instead of people always having to use CGI. Nothing wrong with CGI, just cool to see something that looks so complex actually seem simple

Man, for all of Salvation's problems, the Terminator and other robot effects, both practical and CG, still really hold up for the most part. Really wonderful stuff.

Salvation wasn't a bad Terminator movie, it was just underwhelming.
movie idea was great, too much in one movie. There were plotholes and the writing wasn't as great as the first 2 movies. Marcus was seen saying how'd he kill John but as they come face to face again it appears that Marcus changed his mind? And now felt obligated to help john find kyle reese despite the mission having no benefit for Marcus. Thats illogical to me
Practical effects are so much better than cgi a lot of times. Cgi is was meant to accompany practical effects and enhance them. Directors these day just make everything cg and just doesn’t look realistic

_Salvation_ will always be my favourite post-Apocalypse movie.
Not a great _Terminator_ sequel, but a fine example of the action genre set in a desolate future world. Love the T-600s, in particular. "Neanderthal" is a perfect word to describe their clunky, unpolished nature.
This fight sequence was really frightening when you get down to it. A lot of it is claustrophobia-inducing. Shot tight and shot well. The t-600 (for me) is the most menacing series of terminator. With that thing in your face, throwing you around, it's such a crazy scene. The machine won't give up until one of you is dead. Period.

I liked this movie, had great action scenes. That's cool how is crawling like the first Terminatior movie. Interesting that they rehearse long for a 2 second scene.

One of the coolest scenes out of all of the Terminator movies. Its a shame the rest of the movie wasnt like this. The movie focused too much on the Marcus Wright story. I just wanted to see more combat scenes between the resistance and the Terminators. But the movie was more focused on Marcus Wright.

The plot is nonsense. I only liked its depiction of the war.
According Christian Bale, the original scenario was pretty dark and there was Nolan involvement there but they never use it.

CGI is great but when reality needs to grapple with it, for me, you really have to go to practical. If there’s off physics, then there’s no sense of presence, and no danger. This looks great even on these tests.

I wish the t-600 had gotten more screentime.
I really want a t-600 some sort of figure...I had one but my son got to it and lost all the parts....so this time I want it to be collectible and in a case...I like the t600 id like to see more of him...yes hes not t800..but im curious about him...they made the t 600 WAY to tall to fit into the future...t600 2016 goes into production...8 years later t800 comes out and was suitable for time travel...I love these movies..im excited about the new ones coming..i just hope they don't F it up...

One major design flaw - T-600 could never be mistaken for human, therefore why does it have a human-like skull ? The designers simply devolved the T-800 instead of designing something that looked like a genuine stage in it's development.

Why would it’s jaw move as a robot? It’s not talking during its attack. It’s meant to be efficient.

Mission to Mars? Nah, Red Planet won that rivalry 😋 The 6th Day is great, though. And Equilibrium is truly underrated and unique. Better than the next attempt that was Ultraviolet, though. And might as well mention Pitch Black instead of Chronicles of Riddick. Chronicles took it too far and brought that dumb Furyan race thing in. If you want Chronicles, then the Riddick games are better than all of the movies combined. And that Doom movie really is underrated, nice of you to mention it.
Lots of movies mentioned here that today's sinking Hollywood would never do justice. And we've already seen proof with more than one attempt, with some of these titles here being involved.
He didn't empty a "clip" into its face. He emptied a magazine. There's a difference. The two are only very loosely related.

Rufus McNiven It totally matters. People ignorantly say "clip" all the time when referring to a magazine. Clips haven't been used in rifles since at least World War 2.
Clips are little metal, as you would call it, clips that you would again clip rounds into. Magazines are the boxes that attach into the gun. Look at the kar98k and just about any bolt action rifle, they use clips. And an ar15 or an ak47 they use magazines.
I'm not a gun expert far from it but it's still something you should know. Especially when working in films like terminator where guns are used.

If McG wants to direct a Terminator movie, I'd say McHellNo. But Then after watching Genysis, and DarkHate..... I've got a new appreciation for Salvation. still Don't know how I feel about a guy that named himself McG, And insist that everyone call him that even in print. I don't think it aged well. The movie wasn't As bad as it could have been.
In keeping to the Terminator saga tradition will Stan Winston studios be involved in designing and creating practical effects for the upcoming installment Terminator Genesis.

This is cool. But that the T-600 is growling like a dog in a big tunnel is just... overdoing it, overkill. There should have been more robots in this movie.
