Man, this weather has been a nightmare. That’s partially why I haven’t released much new podcast episodes yet. We had 25°C the other day, and then it snowed last night. The eBay seat is looking awesome. Great idea with the paint pen. Back when I was a mechanic, those didn’t really exist. So we used good old dabs of grease. Lol. I know what you mean about universally doesn’t fit anything, hahaha. A bit of loctite on those wing nuts will do good. Looking awesome man.
Haha I'm gunna have to loctite everything as I finish it off as I have used a drop yet! 😂 The weather has been nuts, I know what you mean was snowing today and Friday is forecast to be 24 can't get my head around it. Particularly at cradle were everything is exaggerated!
Even before you got that seat on I liked the look of it and the way it sits so perfectly on the frame you've been cutting and building is a great testament to your workmanship. Those bolts sure knew how to put up a decent fight. Lol, I thought that was going to be an easy job until I saw you demolish the seat but I was impressed at how well you got it back together. The rivets were a great idea.
Thanks Jeff. It did come together pretty well even if i do say so myself!! But wow the seat put up a lot harder fight than expected. My wife was laughing at the classic 20minute job turning to an epic battle of man vs machine!!! Cheers and I hope you are well!
Looks great but I've seen on many different cafe racer builds and the junction where the seat meets the tank is always weird to look at with the gap. Are you planning to do anything in that area? I'd love to have a go at turning my GS500 to a scrambler style but the gap between the seat and tank is what bugs me.
hello there, i would like to know if this seat is confortable enough for 2 hour drive, also i would like to ask if a second person can get up on this one
I used those cheap eBay seats on a few of my builds and they are pretty bloody good ..... One of em is still going after 2years
Nice, that's reassuring to hear!
