    Good point at 1:40 about the need for customization - most seats are not "plug and play" and quite a lot of people get tripped by that (especially the width of the seat).

    Love these list style episodes, i love the removable cowl seat but its a bit out of my price range. Probable will go for a brat style seat.

    Now repeat all that with your hands in your pockets :-) only kiddin boss, good info, one of the great bum stop seat styles was on the Ducati 750/900SS bevel drive.
    Anyway, liked and subbed, looking at your video on tanks next.

    Hi. I would like to build a cafe racer. I will use a Honda cb. This may be a silly question. Why do you have to use a seat hoop? Thanks heaps. Love your channel

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 лет назад +1

      +Sean Hunt depends on the bike. But can either be for strengthening the frame if there's no crossbar, and neatens the rear end

    I have an ugly original seat on my 1980 Honda cm200t Twinstar. I'm not good at manufacturing anything. I don't have the tools. Do you know what kind of seat I could buy? I took off the seat (screws on) and it looks like the frame is straight. When I do any searching, only the original comes up. Any advice would help!

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 лет назад

      +Michelle Jenson any ideas what width it might be?

    • @jettison_m
      @jettison_m 6 лет назад

      For The Bold - dreegez If I take the seat off and measure the frame, up by the tank is around 6 inches and the widest area in back is around 7.5 inches (sorry for the US measurements :) )

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 лет назад

      +Michelle Jenson off the top of my head it sounds like a thin frame. The standard seats I use for the GS and CX are 9" width at the widest. Any forums out there that can help? I can't think of anything other than that tonne honest.

    • @jettison_m
      @jettison_m 6 лет назад

      Yeah, it's a really small motorcycle (I'm just over 5 feet tall so it's perfect for me). It's an old honda but not nearly as customizable as the cb's.

    The second and third seats are basically the same cheap seat with a different style foam and are to wide at the front for a lot of bikes
    But seriously you should stop flapping your wings and keep your eyes on the camera, it's hard to watch

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  3 года назад

      Not really. The second is a cafe ever styled seat with a COWL and the third is a brat style / scrambler style seat with no cowl and room for a pillion passenger. And they’re definitely not too wide. In fact number 3 is narrower than a CX500 fuel tank where it meets the seat
