I don’t like the decor that much because it isn’t my taste, but I could grow to love it. After all it would be free if I won. But I do love the features like the Skylights, the iPad on the wall to control things. The laundry shute and the automatic toilet. I love the fact that they’ve integrated Amazon Alexa throughout the house, so you can control anything that is compatible. The shower, all the TVs they’ve scattered throughout the house. The mirrors in the bathroom and kitchen which are also TVs. The bathroom windows that can be tinted when needed. I guess by now you can tell I love the Tech. Yes I love techie things.
This house is way too chaotic. They should have toned down the interior design a little. Also why is a coffee machine in the bathroom?! That is unnecessary.
Coffee Machine has a purpose. Need to take a long dump(depending what you ate earlier), and don't want to fall asleep, so you can refill your coffee mugs in between the dump session without stepping out, I guess.
This is not a smart home ... in the U.S. most magazines and blogs get it wrong in my opinion. Just because you can control something from a tablet or smartphone doesn’t make it smart. A true smart home knows that I am there and knows what to do depending on what I’m actually doing. It knows that I’m watching tv and that it should turn on my tv scene and it knows that I’ve went to bed so it turns on the alarm and kills the lights. When I’m leaving the house it knows that as well and arms the alarm, kills certain appliances like TVs etc. and simulates occupancy by turning on lights occasionally. It will also turn off or lower the heat or a/c when I’ve left a certain perimeter of the house which means that i might be away from the house for a longer time. This house they’ve built is just a bunch of toys that won’t be used after while because the house can’t really adapt to the people’s way of living.
I agree. In some movies, or tv shows you do across scenes that depict what true smart home features ought to be. That is the type of home I need. One that is intuitive.

My first impression of this house is that it's way too BUSY! The decor is too eclectic. There is way too much going on and so initially it seems smaller than it truly is. The flow throughout the house is not CONSISTENT. In the kitchen for instance, there are TWO different types of light fixtures. They should be the same so that there is a central theme. The plants in the living room are so cumbersome that at times it resembles a rainforest. This smart home is one short circuit away from a catastrophe. So overall, this home is not my favorite. Less is more.
I was hoping for a video about a smart home, not smart things in the home. Like a bike? TV's? Tell me about the construction of the home, energy efficiency, and the reasons why certain materials were chosen over others.. But I guess this video is geared more towards the average home buyer that doesn't understand what can really be done with a home.

Exactly my thought. I like the hassle of taking out my machine and putting them back after i use them.. gives me satisfaction of having done something 😁
Nice vid! It's very cool but my main concern is replacing things that become broken (eg coffee machine, fridge tv, shoe carousel) because they seem to be custom to the house. Then again if I lived there I'm sure one of my many butlers could sort it 😂
Omg I could just imagine my grandparents living here with no knowledge of how to use even the simplest things in the house. Like really how would they even find the microwave even I wouldn't find it.
Is it just me or all the "practical" things that were mentioned are actually impractical? For example, the extra chopping block all the way over there by the coffee machine? The fridge is way to far from the stove, you would have a lot of steps to bring everything you need for cooking. Screens on the sink? like why would you want to be browsing internet while brushing your teeth? I dont know, I just didnt like it and I didnt like the decor at all either. I usually love hgtv homes but this one was a great miss in my opinion.
hgtv needs to become practical when it comes to building these homes. i understand when the house is won a lot of winners sell them. the houses are so large. heating and cooling, pricey. insurance on the car? i would love to win but i could not afford it. how many of us could?
Agreed, very pointless, coffee maker in bath?.... browse the net in the bath?... microwave looks annoying to use, toilet no good if you’re bursting for a shit lol
why tf do you need 6 TVs???? the house looks outdated, and there's nothing there that comes across as smart. In fact most of the "features" you mentioned are impractical, like the useless chopping board that looked like it was about to fall off, the screens in the bathroom that are only gonna get grubby and break, and the absolutely pointless motorized toilet seat - have we really got to a point where we can't be bothered lifting the toilet seat ourselves!?!?!???! The only reason I'd want to win this house is so I can sell it immediately and buy a smaller, more practical house that has actual thought put into it.

My uncle's place had a shower with a radio and phone built into it. That was a pretty cool smart home thing 10 years ago, and something I still kind of want, but I guess there's waterproof bluetooth speakers that do the same thing on Amazon.
The coolest thing about it is outside it looks like a classic house and the moment you go in you realise that you are in a modern palace. Cool piece of art. What an incredible display of an art
“Check out this smart home” and then he picks up remotes to lift the TV and then another remote to open the screen. Smart homes are controlled by the voice, not remotes. Also, who lives in SC and wants an open wall!? Bugs and humidity alone would prevent that screen from ever opening.
smart homes should predict based on common use, the algorithm should know you watch tv when you come into this room at this time. At the very least motion sensors and timers. Automation is the future not remotes.
@@ShaiLysk To me this is a home with some fancy tech in it a true smart home will be all on a central controller (locks, blinds, tv, home theatre, pool, lighting, speakers, wifi, security system etc) not a bunch of separate systems each with a different remote. The tvs all over was something I would find extremely annoying. Its almost like TV worship, or TV addiction. I like spending more time outdoors, or face to face with family and friends, experiencing life for real, and just the idea of being surrounded by screens at home sounds stressful and like "where your soul goes to die."
The interior design is amazing. They did the house pretty good unlike other huge houses who have so many unnecessary spaces which is such a waste and would make it look empty and boring.
It' s breathtaking, but massively over-designed. You're going to need a mechanic or electrician in permanent residence to keep everything running, and your own solar array to power everything. Also the VR room was waaaay too small and pokey for its purpose. Looooved the airiness of the living room and the room with the phantom screen. Overall, a total dream home and really beautiful. The decor was great too. Wish I had that sense of style.
they totally made a smart home "Just to make a smart home" all the best features are not technology related, not "smart" they just shoved odd coffee machines and TV's everywhere, there is no continuity... its just a bunch of separate things... terrible design, if you ask me.
My Fiancé loves the coffee maker In the bathroom. It is perfect for him. I personally love the kitchen and the green room. I do a lot of reading and gardening and fell in love with it before I even saw all the features. WOW.
Although I have been entering for years I am happy for the lady that won I know what it's like to lose everything animals included and I'm glad the universe gave this wonderful opportunity to her :)
The smart home additions are great but this house has been overcrowded by decor, it looks smaller than it actually is due to all the extra stuff that has been crammed into the rooms. Also black light switches/outlets are tacky in light coloured rooms, they don't need that much attention drawn to them.
Love the concept! But considering that everything is useless when the electricity went down. Would love if there is emergency mode thats required kinetic for all of the electrical tools
Enjoyed the house.some changes for me would be a washer and dryer on second floor. Also brick pavers or stamped concrete would be nice touch with landscaping being lit up. Last but not least would be a butler pantry next to kitchen where an extra refrigerator and foodwarmer ,pizza oven and dishwasher and coffee makers would be set up out of site with sliding door. Just my opinion.
I am in love with this house! There are so many great features it is hard to pick one. I have to admit that the coffee pot in the bathroom for the a.m. rush suits me just fine! The artwork in the living room, the screened outer room, the bedrooms....too many and I especially love the mature lot.
I am sorry, but this home is not that impressive. Maybe this home would have been impressive 10-16 years ago, but there is nothing in that home that I have not seen, even in lower level model homes. I saw a hidden media room in a home more than 10 years ago. People have had tvs in mirrors for about 20 years. I do not think anyone needs a coffee machine in their bathroom, but if they want one all they have to do is buy a mini Kuerig and plug it up in the bathroom. I did like the motorized shoe rack and the laundry device. However, there are just too many nice houses out there for this house to be impressive.
Because it makes your poop experience even better! Opens and closes for you, heats up the seat and even flushes! If it wiped for you it would be magical lol
I definitely wouldn't call it dated. It is sympathetic to the style in the area, and rather purposely eclectic. The some of curtains are a bit much, and I can see how you'd get a dated feel.
i think with some younger shoppers if it's not exceptionally contemporary, or if it has any rustic or historic appeal they may tend to feel it's old. not sure if that's what's happening here. it's definitely not my favorite style either... but few things are really. when you're shopping you have to take what you can get. i'd rather build, if i had my choice
Wow.. I can't imagine being that lucky & living in a dream home like that!! The tub was beautiful and my favorite parts were the skylight and laundry and beautiful closet!
I mean...you may think so, but idk how practical a lot of that stuff really is. TV in the shower? Hidden coffee maker? Yeah...a little over the top, I'd say. I liked that can storage cabinet! I may steal that idea!
OMG!!!! I am in love with the kitchen... The sink drawers, TV cabinet, chopping block, microwave, and cabinetry surrounding the microwave is Ah-mazing!!! I also love the coffee built in. Then, the TV that looks like artwork and then the phantom screen. I could only dream of having this! I love it!!! My absolute favorite is the master bedroom and bath. I love the skylights and the shaded windows. But that shoe carousel though!!! the laundry shoot and the hidden room I am in LOVE. We are actually looking to build our home in the near future and this would be perfect!!! The car would be great as well!
sunsbookishgamesx love this house. This would make a wonderful retirement home for my husband and I. Coffee in the bathroom, what a way to start the morning.
The worst design ever. God help you if you lose power. And that interior design? Stick to one or two woods and one common color for hardware. Seriously: Who would want this mess?
Man I'm just gone put it out there if I don't win please have HGTV get the winner to contact me. I am nice person who only takes up small space.lol 😂😂😩 But for real, what a house this is! I would never leave.
My favorite feature was the hidden room. The house was furnished beautifully. The most practical thing for me was laundry chute and I loved screened wall that opened up. One of the features such as the coffee machine in the bathroom would be useless for me. Good luck/Congrats to the winner!
First, I like the Idea of drawer on the sink. instead of making a false drawer in the middle they just make it 1 drawer and make open in the middle. Second, the cabinet with storage at side was amazing with tv and microwave. third, I like the shoerack with rotating mechanism inside with compartment below to put the dirty clothes and to be transfered directly to the laundry area. fourth, all the smart electronics features are very good. 😍🤩 lastly, I really want to have this house someday ❤
Honestly for the most part I like everything about this house. What I don't like however is how HGTV asks people for their full birth date on the entry form along with their other personal information. Too much info that can be misused if hacked when all they need is a checkbox to state that they are 18 or over. If major companies are being hacked I don't know that I trust all of my information including my birth date to be on whatever tiny little computer they have in their Studio holding all of the data entrant's personal info 🤔
I can't choose what I love the most. I love it all! But if I absolutely have to choose, I'd choose the screened in patio, because I'm a writer and it just looked so peaceful.AND the media nook for my grandkids would be fantastic for when they visit. And the tv in the kitchen, because I love to cook and entertain. The master bedroom is beautiful a,d the exercise bike is great I'm a cyclist. I would bless others so they can have get away also..
This would have been dream come true for my family! I love it! I do agree that the amount of tv’s is insane as well as the coffee maker in the bathroom but the house it’s simply amazing!
A plush tech loaded home. The decor was good but the only space that looked home-like to me was the living room. During our remodeling projects we aim to keep the space as clutter-free as possible to allow a feel of airiness. Moreover, homeowners do not prefer over doing their rooms with unnecessary decor accessories.
I love kitchen and bathrooms. But the whole house is amazing. I love cooking too, the house the wood floors the big Windows God! The coffee maker in the bathroom. Technology wauuu
Im very picky. I love contemporary modern. Ok so here goes. That brown ugly pattern around the fireplace and tv in the living room is hideous! I hate butcher block. I hate the cabinets bead board is hideous. I would change the lights in the kitchen and the counters tops. The animal head above the bed in the master bedroom I would get rid of. The ladder too. Closets are not good attached to bathrooms. Bathroom seems a bit tight. I dont like plaid either. Also they need to take the bike out of the bedroom. It says there is no room for it. Whats cool is all the smart features. Nice ceilings. Hidden room is nice but what about room for others to play. I wouldnt want that house. So not entering...
I don't even know who you are and I can completely relate to you lol. I love contemporary design too. The house has too much going on as far as decorations go. so I can definitely relate

A gorgeous house but they lost me at "TV screen in the master bathroom mirror"... Cmon, man.
The smart home additions are great but this house has been overcrowded by decor, it looks smaller than it actually is due to all the extra stuff that has been crammed into the rooms. Also black light switches/outlets are tacky in light coloured rooms, they don't need that much attention drawn to them.
Ryan Holliday i thought that too.
Same..
Ummmm...maybe you can totally restyle it however you want if it was yours? 🤔🤔🤔
Love the idea of winning a house like this ... until I realize how much $$$$$ upkeep would be! I'll just stick to enjoying the video ☺️
Ha Yeah its really a practical home though. Thanks for enjoying the video though :)
Erika Martin Taylor They give you $100,000 to help pay taxes!
Shannon Klug 🤔 entering the contest is in order in that case! 😊
you owe around $700k in taxes
mfein123 😂😂😂😂😂
The master bathroom and closet is AMAZING!
Love the idea that the house so tech friendly. And they have the house next door to Mother Nature so you have a awesome view every morning 😍
That plaid tile needs to go.
Yeah it’s a love it or hate it thing. Some people love it and some hate it.
I kind of like the fact that it looks like wallpaper.
Reminds me of the plaid skirt I wore back in the 60's. I hate this tile!
Love the concept! But considering that everything is useless when the electricity went down. Would love if there is emergency mode thats required kinetic for all of the electrical tools
Basically a Tesla battery panel would of done the job.
Ericko Tandayu generators
The tinted windows r insane never seen anything like it
Enjoyed the house.some changes for me would be a washer and dryer on second floor.
You Tube Thanks for the reply.
fuck off hater, You just dont like style and design and know nothing about interior design
thank you
The house looks pretty impractical to me in some spots. There are motors in useless places. Why would anyone want a motorized toilet seat?
Because it makes your poop experience even better! Opens and closes for you, heats up the seat and even flushes! If it wiped for you it would be magical lol
Excuse me, do you hate freedom?! It’s the ultimate dream to have a high tech poop experience. Would be one of the greatest joys of the day.
ekspertti Looks to slow if you need to poop asap 😂
I think the idea of this house is to pack as much tech in as possible.
Perfect toilet for germophobes!
Not really a smart home
FlyJack more like a slow home. Gotta wait for everything, even to take a crap.
*HUH?* You know a better one ?
I've never seened a better one
@ItzsebiYT yes, yes I have.
@@rowanfunke where
There are houses with face recognition, that know how to cook your meals, and can set preferences. I have toured one
The design engineers did a great job presenting user friendly technology and functional solutions for practical uses
I'd say the tinted bathroom windows and the touch microwave were my favorites. I like the pull out cutting board but it's a little small.
I would never feel safe in a smart house ,can be hacked Frm anywhere in the world!!!!
chikitakumustas you’ve watched too many movies
TomCook1993 He ain't wrong. 🤷🏾♂️
Lol imagine your toilet getting hacked
And do what? Turn in your tv? Menacing.
Sarah Bowtell lol no break into your house don't be dumb
My dream home for sure, being a tech junkie I would be in heaven living in this house. Great vid Danny.
I want this house!
Matthew Moniz believe it and it shall be urs..

the drawer under the sink is a masterpiece work
I love the laundry chute. So simple yet convenient and smart...my absolute fav!
The tech is cool, espesh the vanity mirror tvs, but the decor is so dated
I definitely wouldn't call it dated. It is sympathetic to the style in the area, and rather purposely eclectic. The some of curtains are a bit much, and I can see how you'd get a dated feel.
Sarah Crilly its alright...
i think with some younger shoppers if it's not exceptionally contemporary, or if it has any rustic or historic appeal they may tend to feel it's old. not sure if that's what's happening here. it's definitely not my favorite style either... but few things are really. when you're shopping you have to take what you can get. i'd rather build, if i had my choice
it’s called modern farmhouse decor. not dated.
lol not dated, it's farmhouse style, etc.....it's very popular. Shag rug and floral wallpaper is dated.
Love that Chevron....wait, excuse me.......SIR?! WIN...the house?! That’s crazy man lol.
JD Tech TV isn’t that MKBHD’s merch ?
Yash Shah yep. The name of that shirt is the Chevron
the bathroom is amazing !!! So much features there.
Wow.. I can't imagine being that lucky & living in a dream home like that!! The tub was beautiful and my favorite parts were the skylight and laundry and beautiful closet!
Coffee machine in the bathroom, so many TVs.... That's overkill!
It really is a beautiful house, but kind of crowded for my taste 😅 great video!
"smart home"
*meanwhile uses 500 different controls / apps/ remotes to control everything*
😂😂
I WANT THIS HOUSE
sunsbookishgamesx I'll hit u up when I win 🤣
Soo beautiful...
I want A house
Sue Burgess cool hair color.
sunsbookishgamesx love this house. This would make a wonderful retirement home for my husband and I. Coffee in the bathroom, what a way to start the morning.
What if the power fails?
Do you have candles in that smart home?
What does the electric bill look like?
MrBoriqua2000 thousands of dollars maybe
nicole elizabeth they won’t get much light with all the trees
A bazzilion gazzilion dollars.
Wes Karcher hahaha.. You're probably right
laundry shoot! That was the best part. also, nice shirt.
One word: perfect! I love this house. The design is so beautiful and the bathroom is heaven!😍
aight, so who won this house?
The worst design ever. God help you if you lose power.
And that interior design? Stick to one or two woods and one common color for hardware.
Seriously: Who would want this mess?
Georgina Toland I agree. It’s like they used a different designer for every room. It’s over-designed, cluttered, and impractical.
Someone's upset
I agree, especially with the woods.
You already!
Hopefully they have a full home generator
Man I'm just gone put it out there if I don't win please have HGTV get the winner to contact me. I am nice person who only takes up small space.lol 😂😂😩 But for real, what a house this is! I would never leave.
The RaRa85 🤣🤣
My favorite feature was the hidden room. The house was furnished beautifully. The most practical thing for me was laundry chute and I loved screened wall that opened up. One of the features such as the coffee machine in the bathroom would be useless for me. Good luck/Congrats to the winner!
First, I like the Idea of drawer on the sink. instead of making a false drawer in the middle they just make it 1 drawer and make open in the middle.
Second, the cabinet with storage at side was amazing with tv and microwave.
third, I like the shoerack with rotating mechanism inside with compartment below to put the dirty clothes
and to be transfered directly to the laundry area.
fourth, all the smart electronics features are very good. 😍🤩
lastly, I really want to have this house someday ❤
You forgot to show bathroom skylight you mentioned.
Yeah they look the same but yes. I had a clip of it that didn’t work out. They look just like the bedroom ones do!
Danny Winget would look sweet looking up the sky while brushing. Instead of three, bathroom should one skylight as a wide as the two.
v1d300 lol
Guys I did some research and apparently the house amount is a little over $1.6 million... Ouch the taxes on that lol
Tech Buyer's Guide
Thats pretty cheap waw
That it would be a milti million dollar house with all that tech

The music is very cute , the kitchen is incredible, I love this house
This house is hackable... scary.
I don't think you would call it 'hackable ...scary ' if you won it dude 😂😂
I wonder if I win if I would be able to even pay the tax on that house let alone that car... beautiful house I WANT TO WIN unless Skynet is real 😂
Too many remote controls ain't smart
This would have been dream come true for my family! I love it! I do agree that the amount of tv’s is insane as well as the coffee maker in the bathroom but the house it’s simply amazing!
At my house I sing to my toilet, my toilet just has to put up with my crap
theres too much going on in the design
yea it looks shitty
WOW, IT is 1984. Let the government watch you in even more ways.
So EXTRA lol.
But your name is everything technology lol
msjuicy ツ am saying
This house is insane it's a dream house!!! I wish I had seen this video 2 years ago. I would love to have this house for me and my kids.
I’d love this house. I like everything about this home. Lucky house winners will enjoy forever.
The shoe carousel is straight out of the original Overboard movie.
Looks like they filmed Black Mirror here
Mayyyyyybe
Subtle shout out to MKBHD! Love the merch!
Yup this house is not for the modern lovers
I don't even know who you are and I can completely relate to you lol. I love contemporary design too. The house has too much going on as far as decorations go. so I can definitely relate
Teri Anderson Exactly my thoughts
