      @@brickcats likewise from me. It's a small niche, so I can understand why your channel's not blowing up, but you are filling that niche perfectly. Could not ask someone to be more thoughtful and thorough when going over these models, and it's helped me a lot with my purchasing decisions.
      I only wish you had even more videos! But I know they can't be rushed.

      I typically set my expectations at 0 views and 0 subscribers, so I am consistently exceeding my expectations. I am super glad you and others find it useful.

    I've built FlyInSpace's Venator and it looks just as good as the Star Destroyer. Similar build and level of detail.
    I love the subtle angle of the spine frame to get the hull panels to slope toward the front. So many clever connections to get the angles right.
    I just need to save up for the parts and find enough space to display the Star Destroyer.

      I’m definitely looking forward to the Venator. Like you I am space-constrained :-)

    This was perfect timing. I got these instructions this week. I’ll definitely be hitting up pab, for whatever I don’t have in my brick collection. Thanks again for the great video. Btw, I am now 100% complete on part collecting for the UCCS Millennium Falcon from brickvault lol, pretty intimidated to start that build.. have you considered it?

    • @brickcats
      @brickcats  2 года назад +1

      I would love to build it but I am too space limited to consider it :-(

    Great video as always! At 13:46, you mentioned the 6 Minifigure Neck Brackets that don’t need to be in LBG, which is true, however I’m not sure they’re even necessary at all. When I was ordering parts for this model last year, all the US sources were super expensive for that part, so I ended up ordering them from an overseas store that, after several delays, took over three months to arrive (not my typical experience but it happens from time to time). I ended up building the model as much as I could minus those pieces and I noticed that everything can still be put together without those six internal ones. When they all arrived I added all the exterior ones, but I never bothered adding in the internal ones and it has been assembled and displayed for about a year now without any issues.

      I think they are intended to give the "ziggurat" structure some additional support, but it doesn't surprise me that they aren't strictly necessary. Good to know the model still holds together fine without them though, I entertained eliminating them for the same reasons... for some reason they are very expensive.

    Battleship Yamato reviews when? But real question have you thought about doing one of the super detailed Star Destroyers with interiors?

    • @brickcats
      @brickcats  Год назад +1

      Not really. I am severely space limited or I would :-(

    Is that part replacement an issue with just the instructions or parts list as well? Do I need to edit the parts list to be able to build this from just new pieces bought for it?

    • @brickcats
      @brickcats  Год назад

      If you bought the parts on the parts list you don’t need to pay any attention to the substitution recommendations- you’re good to go! The substitutions were more if someone has an inventory to draw from already.

      @@brickcats I am talking about that one modified 1x2 tile that makes a step impossible. Is that just an instruction mistake with the correct replacement part in the list or do I need to change my parts list before ordering?

    • @brickcats
      @brickcats  Год назад

      @@c-samleystudios1573 Ah! Sorry I misunderstood! You should add two 85861 in LBG and remove two of the jumper plates, 15573 I believe, in the parts list. I am not sure if Brick Vault has updated the parts list or not sadly, so adding two 85861 is definitely the safe option.

      Thank you very much! I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I have the parts collected so in theory it’s ready to build. The bad news is that I have been super busy and have a back log, so I’m unlikely to get to it until at least January or February 2023. Sorry!
