I have so much respect for you and your company, so many (MOST PEOPLE) would never have even said anything about making mistakes and try to hide it from the viewers. Keep doing what you do and most importantly please be safe out there!!!
Mr Harris We appreciate that comment and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Agreed one hundred percent. Excellent job all around. Shows you're human when you are concerned about the driver. Hope he is alright.
Good job!! God bless you from Michigan ❤️ 😊
It takes a good man to admit to his mistakes. You learn from them and move on. Thank you for taking your time and effort to making great videos.
Mr James Thanks I appreciate that and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Mr. Hal... First, Thank the good Lord no one was seriously injured. That could have been a tragic statistic. Thank you for sharing this. I could see in your mannerism and hear in your voice during the intro that you took this seriously. I view that as a sign of a true professional. I don't need to remind you, coming from the fire service, that no matter how much training you do. No matter how much experience you have. No matter how many precautions you take, "stuff" is going to happen. It's never a matter of "if" something is going to happen, rather "when something is going to happen. Were mistakes made... yes. But, it was your training and experience that ensured no one was injured during the recovery. As my buddy likes to say, there is nothing so bad that it can't be used as a perfectly good example of what not to do.
Mr Don I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
If we did not make mistakes we would not have anything to learn, life would be so boring, mistakes and fear in a job keeps us for not taking the dangers for granted love the content brothet
Mr Ray I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
Once again, you were able to take an extremely difficult situation and that it to a successful conclusion. You have my admiration. Keep u the good work. Regards, Bob.
Mr Bob I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
The important thing about the mistakes, is that you and Caleb were not hurt, nor the bystanders. The dump truck looks pretty trashed anyway. I applaud your honesty, Mr. Hal. I've often wondered why other tow companies don't show their "oops-es." Great video. Stay safe out there.
Ms Joyce A good lesson was learned. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Thank you for keeping it real. Yes, unless it's a blooper video, RUclips shares carefully clipped and edited perfection. Which is nice, but it isn't real. Stuff happens in life. Sometimes mistakes are made. You have my respect,Sir, for the job you do despite the dangers and for being such an honest man.
KDove I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe.
its a good person that owns up to errors. I dare say there is NOBODY in the world that has never made an error. thanks for showing us this.
Mr D Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Sumpter Wrecker is top notch company and as always, you demonstrate professionalism and honesty. There are not many like you and Ron Pratt.
Mr Donald I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
When I was in the army stationed at Neu Ulm Germany. I was a recovery specialist driving and operating a 5 ton wrecker. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but learned from them. Like they say, to err is human. You did as always a excellent job in recovery.
Mr Dusty I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr Hal, Trev from Oz. I'm going to admit that I'm writing this comment without watching more than 18 minutes so far. I admire your ethics. I was a forensic professional here in Australia for 35+ years and the one golden rule I lived by, and instilled in my trainees, was that if you make a mistake, admit it. The admission earns respect, not derision. You've earned that respect by this act alone!
I'm speaking from experience. I had to appear in court many times and sometimes I would not be aware of the mistake I had made. When pointed out, I admitted it, and the tone of the cross examination changed significantly because it was respectful.
Yes, that was a different environment to that which you operate in, but the principle is still the same.
As I told my kids when they were growing up, "there is no such thing as bad experience, it may have been 'a' bad experience, but if you can learn from that, it is good experience".
Now, if you'll allow me, I'll watch the rest of your video!
Regards
Trev
Mr Trevor I really appreciate that comment. All I could do was raise my hand and say I messed up. We appreciate you watching our channel and commenting. Stay safe
Nothing to be ashamed are. There has been only one man that walked this earth and never made a mistake. And He is the reason we are here to make mistakes. But as long as we believe in Him and follow where He leads us we will be ok.
Mr Bobby Well said. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal , I watch your channel because all of you are Humans and I was always told " The only people that don't make mistakes , are the ones that never do anything " . You just keep a making those videos and we'll keep watching them .
Mr Ron Yes sir we will. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Never hide the mistakes because somebody watching the video who might be a tow operator might learn from your mistakes. I'm glad you showed your mistakes that takes a really big person to do that. I'm glad to hear the truck driver survived it survive the accident and he's doing well
Mr Doug Thanks and thank you for watching our channel. Stay safe
Total respect for you Mr Hal. Other channels wouldn't dare share with us of mistakes made. We learn from mistakes. I hope driver is ok.
Mr Tim Yes sir Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal it takes a big man to admit that he mad mistakes. We all make mistakes everyday but most of us will never tell anyone that we made one. You and your guys especially Mr. Wilbert do a great job. Never doubt that and stay safe.
Mr James Thanks We appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
If you're gonna make 2 mistakes, it's good that they caused no harm. Driver recovering and no one else hurt, I'd say a pretty good job by all, Mr. Hal.
Mr Terry thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal, we all make mistakes. Your willingness to show them and teach others from it is absolutely the sign of a good and honest man. Thank you for sharing!

Mr Harold Thank you for watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe
Mr. Hal Heavy recoveries are difficult no matter how much experience you have. Everybody makes mistakes as we are all human. Truth be told I think you’re being too hard on yourself because you did up rite the truck and it didn’t flip over to the other side which would’ve been pretty catastrophic and you and Caleb we’re not injured & you definitely didn’t hurt that truck anymore than it already was. Keep up the good work!
Mr Walter We appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Well said👍👍👍
We all make mistakes from time to time. It takes a big man to admit those mistakes. Be safe and god bless you and your crew
Mr Chris Thanks and we appreciate you watching. Stay safe
I was once told that a man who has never made a mistake has never done anything and I believe that to be very true. No criticism from me because it could happen to me next week, we can all have a bad day. Stay safe and use it as a reminder to check and double check everything.
Mr Steve Yes sir. We appreciate you watching our channel and commenting. Stay safe
No one hurt, nothing damaged, wrecked vehicles are always unpredictable. Be safe...
Mr Chris thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Glad to hear the driver is improving. Chief, thanks for owning your mistakes, we live and learn. R.I.P. FF James M Muller.

Mr Chris thanks I appreciate that. Stay safe
Nothing wrong about ownin' up to stuff that happens everyday. Thanks for the update Mr. Hal!
Mr Joseph yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal any man that won't admit to making mistakes is not much of a man. Most of us would not notice the mistakes if you had not told us. You are a good man I hope to meet some day.
Mr Charles I really appreciate that. If you are ever in Sumter stop by. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal, part of the reason for video recording the recoveries is to see what we did right & see what we did wrong. That's the cool part because we all can learn from your recordings. This was a challenging recovery for sure and I am pleased to hear that the driver survived & is on the road to recovery. Your job is very dangerous & I have never watched a 1 wrecker recovery of an overturned dump truck. Usually the recovery has 2 or even 3 recovery units trying to balance the dump truck. I thought you guys did an amazing job in clearing the highway & removing the wreck.
Phil's Midwest We really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Nice call on the c-clamp for the seat air line Mr. Hal 🙂👍 You're a *towing professional* and admitting to mistakes is part of being one. Good on you, we're only human my friend. Great job with the dump truck recovery fellas. Be safe 🔧
Mr Zane Yes sir I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Good job, things just happen in life .. everyone made it home .. opened the Hwy..great respect.
Mr Doug Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Mr. Hal there is no need to apologize. You did the right thing in not dropping the video until you knew the driver was going ok. I think most of us are here to watch you give us some good content as you always do. I know if something really went wrong we might not see it.
Stay safe out there.
Mr Michael thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Glad the drivers gonna be ok and Great job getting it done. Glad you decided to share it with us. We’re not perfect and things will happen. Showing us will also teach us. Keep up the great work! 👏👏👏💪💪💪

I’m glad that the driver is recovering and I have a TON of respect for you for showing the mistakes that we all make. We as humans are only perfect in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. That recovery was a tough one, but once again you and Caleb show just how professional Sumter Wrecker Service is and why your the best in the entire southeast.

Mr Scott thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
From what I saw you did fine. I know you like to set the vehicle down soft, but it's not like it's not a total loss. The most important thing is no one else got hurt, and none of your equipment was damaged. Great video.
Golf Addict Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Mr. Hal, we all make mistakes in life. Thank goodness that your or Caleb were injured. You guys have one of the most dangerous jobs on the market now. Some people just don’t have any respect for anyone working next to the roads. It was a great video. You didn’t even have to tell the mistake you made. Thanks for sharing and please be careful.
Proud Papaw Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
i make mistakes all the time....i show them with the hope that someone could learn from my mistakes. it make posting them worthwhile to me. shame to see his poor truck totaled. really enjoy watching the planning coming through with an easy upright. may not have been the way you wanted but it came over nice and easy with no one hurt or the truck damaged.
Mr JC I learn something from every video we make. When I stop learning it will be time quit. Thanks for watching and stay safe
U DONE AN AWESOME JOB WELL DONE HERO FREIND. LIKE U SAID WE R HUMAN. GOD BLESS UR FAMILY &UR GUYS THAT WORKING FOR YOU HERO. ❤
Mr John I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Best results. Even if some go better than others. Truck's upright, y'all had no injuries, y'all still have all a yer fingers n towes. 😉
Customer knows you did yer best to expedite a remedy for their misfortune. Hope the driver's injuries aren't overwhelming and he makes a speedy recovery. Thanks for being standup and for sharing.
Mr Barry Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Don`t regret any video you put out, there have been mistakes allready, ( ok sometimes also fail with equipment) but we all learn something every of them, we are still just humanbeings, not androids from sci-fi movies.
And You are REAL man to show it to whole world, we still do things slightly wrong sometimes, so no-one is perfect, doecent matter how long you have been professional at your work, and there every time is different from other.
Old Mercedes I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
Glad the driver was okay great job
Mr Johnny Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
One thing for sure is you always have a backup ! Stay safe out there!
Mr Jay Yes sir. That is exactly why we put boards down. Thanks for watching and stay safe
All the mistakes proves is, you are of the same race as the rest of us, that would be 'human race'. As long as we learn from our mistakes, we'll be better on the next one. You're a bigger/better man than a lot of us. Glad all ended well.
N8pu I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr Wilbert another fantastic job, BE Safe & God BLess My Friend
Mr Thomas thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
I don’t know how I missed this video. Good job even if there was errors only you would know. Next time you see Richard from CNA, tell him Robert from Barrier says hello.

Your under pressure to get wrecks cleaned up, to get a road opened, and occasionally have law enforcement riding you back to hurry up. It a wonder that more mistakes by everyone in that business aren't made. Mr Hal you are very professional in your business as well as your crew. I have the upmost respect for you. God Bless you and your crew.
Mr David I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Your reversing skills are impressive.
Mr Norman thanks and we appreciate you watching. Stay safe
Mr Hal, had a slight delay but watched it all. Very professional for a number of reasons, but ultimately glad the driver is on the mend.
Regards
Trev
Mr Trevor Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
you did a good think we all make mistakes i know it is hard to show to the world but just shows just how honest you are
Dependable auto thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
great job totally proffessional, even errors done proffessional owning them!!
Mr David Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Mr. Hal yell still did a very great job. An that in my book wasn’t a mistake because the truck is a total loss anyway so it hitting harder than expected didn’t hurt it any more than it was already; an the truck didn’t roll away and it didn’t hit the wrecker. I glad the driver is ok. That’s a phone call as a business owner wants to have to make to the driver’s family tell them he’s been hurt doing is job.
Mr Justin Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Hal good work. In life we all make mistakes I am sure you learned from it and no one was hurt in the process.
Mr David thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Thanks Hal for sharing ....To error is Human

That's all that matters love watching your videos keep making them stay safe and say hello to mister wilbur for me
Mr Charles As long as you viewers keep watching we are. We learn something from every video. Stay safe.
Hay Mr Hal. Glad the driver seems to have pulled threw and is on the mend. We all make mistakes Mr Hal but as long as we learn from our mistakes in the long run it makes us better people. Stay safe out there 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧

Mr Joseph Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
I think you did a great job. Yeah it didn’t catch as it should have but you got it. Like you said you’re HUMAN! Great seeing you in the intro.
Big Boy D Thanks and we appreciate you watching. Stay safe
Yeah, some little mistakes. It's something that everybody can learn from. I don't really consider the problem with the box not going down as a mistake, yeah something may have gotten bent, but who's to say that truly did not happen during the crash event? The pulling of the spring brake button, well... you went and put in the effort, so you get a Bronze for the thought and the effort. Just fell a little short of the goal, but nobody got hurt, so pretty much still a win. Glad to hear that the driver is well on the mend.
Keep on doing what you guys do, and keep on being safe at all times. Mistakes can be corrected, but lives are top priority over all other concerns.
I think everybody who was at the scene (in the video) got a toot on the horn. For anyone who didn't, Caleb got in 3 or 4 little honks. So yeah, re-sale value on the truck definitely improved ! Lol...
Mr Stan Yes sir the cylinder was bent. We pulled it in before we flipped until it wouldn't go any further. Thanks for watching and stay safe
You only get respect from us posting this video. We all make mistakes. Btw that chain really did look tight. I was also suprised when it jumped.
Mr Aljosa We appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
From one recovery guy to another no mistakes were made here just cleaning up messes while under pressure keep up the good work 🤙🤙
Mr Keith I appreciate that. Thanks for watching our channel and commenting. Stay safe out there.
Mistakes happen Mr.Hal great job
Mr Russell We appreciate you watching and commenting. Stay safe
Mr. Hal, I’m quite a bit older than you I’d guess and I can tell you a sure way to not make anymore mistakes. Just make sure that you never do another productive thing in your life or make any more decisions that might make this world a better place.
Doak 48 That is a true statement. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Thanks for sharing
Great video once again
Mr Joe Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great job Mr Hal we can’t always do it perfect great recovery I make mistakes myself and I’ve not been doin long but we learn from them and move on
Mr John Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Don't worry about a mistake especially under those conditions. you don't usually make them and things don't always go to plan. main thing nobody got hurt and you got the job done even though it fought you al;l the way. be safe see you on the next one.

Mr Scott Yes sir that is true. We appreciate you watching our channel and stay safe.
Thank you.Stay safe.
Mr Mauritz thanks for watching and stay safe
Fair enough on the catch.I don’t think you should feel bad about the brake ( parking) given the condition of the cab. Glad the driver has recovered . It was a bad crash. Have to admire a man who can admit his mistakes. Don’t know what else you could have done about the hoist. 👍👍👍👍👏🏻
Ordinary Miracles I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Very good gentleman considering the circumstances.
Sargent slaughter Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Sometimes when we rush to get things done small mistakes can happen but if you had not said anything Mr Hal i don't think most folk would have seen anything wrong at all the main thing is everyone was safe and no extra damage to the truck so i say everything was a win for all.
Mr Mohammed Thanks for watching and commenting on our videos. Stay safe
Every one is safe ,job well don !
Mr Clayton Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Very nice work 👍👍👍👍👍😊
Mr Lee Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
You proved you're human.
Drums Only Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Always learning from mistakes.
Mr Norman Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
Every one makes mistakes, few would admit doing so. I repaired motor cycles for a living, rebuilt a four cylinder Honda and got a few interruptions whilst doing it. Tested it all OK, got it ready for customer to collect. Cleaning down my work area , getting the old parts ready to show him, I found the damned oil pump, I had missed fitting it all. Not the only mistake I made in 40 plus years, but the one I remember most, it still bothers me 25 years later.
Mr Brian Yes sir. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Mr sumter top of the wozza from Australia 😊
Mr Clem Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal, first of all, a big man explains his mistakes and all in all it was no harm no foul. Secondly, anyone who backs up a big wheel base towrig with a backwards triax on the back like as easy as you did got no explaining to do except for, thirdly how did you get John Wayne to do that opening video?
Mr Steve Well pilgrim it wasn't easy. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Even the best makes mistakes and it takes a real man to admit they made a mistake
Mr Herb I appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Big mistakes ,small mistake makes great teaching tools
Mr William We appreciate you watching our channel and commenting. Stay safe
Just wish you could have seen it all at the end but I used to drive a wrecker and I like to seeing how you laid that cylinder down thank you
Mr Billy Sorry my battery died. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Good job.
Mr Charlie Thanks for watching and stay safe
