I once went for dinner with Roger Lloyd-Pack. He was a great guy and a brilliant actor. Nothing like this character obviously. He went to a posh private school and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Back in the early '80s I went to my company's local tool store to get a small box of screws. At the counter I asked the Trig-like gentleman for said box of screws. He advised me I couldn't have a small box of screws. "Why not?", I asked. "Because we only have one pack in stock", he replied. "Well I take that one then", says I. "No, you can't have it." "Why not?", I ask, somewhat puzzled. "In case someone needs them." A few seconds pass as I try to digest this logic. "But *I* need them", I say....but I can see this point is not landing with him. After seeking further clarification he finally, very reluctantly, allowed me to take just 12 screws (and no more), so I could complete the job I was in the middle of at that time. He would not give me any more screws for my following job later that afternoon. To this day whenever I see Trig on the screen I think of this guy 😅😅
