I heard some other commentators saying, "rule changes is why he has this record" They make it sound like anyone could've done it, but nobody else has. Chris always says, "The NFL is hard" his record means something.
Thank you Chris and Nick for acknowledging Drew Brees’s achievements unlike some of the other commentators who literally just throw that “Hatorade” at him. When all said and done, Drew has to be top 10 or even top 5 QB’s all time.
Young Dex that’s what I’m saying they pretty much said nobody cares about nfl records and it ain’t that special but they had a whole episode segment about it.
Wolff Bro I didn't watch it until after and it just gave me more clarification that max doesn't know football, he said last year that Russell Wilson was better than Drew lmao
I bow down to Chris Carter, the only commentator I can find that actually wasn’t afraid to say , “Drew Brees’ accomplishment is amazing and I give him the respect he deserves”. Thank you Chris we’ve been searching all morning for someone to speak some sense.
I'm just so thankful that I got/get to watch Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning & Kurt Warner etc :D

As a Chargers’ fan, I’m elated at the success of Drew Brees. Every older guy I know says Marino is the best passer they’ve ever seen, until they watched Drew Brees on the Saints.
As a Saints fan I had to watch this video. Drew Brees was indeed a God send to New Orleans, who in combination with Sean Payton, have fostered a winning attitude much needed in this franchise. The only thing not mentioned in this video, which I believe separates Drew Brees from all of the other elite quarterbacks is his work ethic. Drew Brees is the consummate professional who works hard, studies hard and ultimately plays hard. Other quarterbacks are possibly more talented, but don't put forth the effort as a Drew Brees. When compared to some of the best, let's never forget the internal drive brought to the game, the mind set which is always at the heart of Drew's talent, which is work hard and you will be rewarded. Thank you Drew Brees for all of your amazing personal accomplishments, and more so that these have occurred with you being a New Orleans Saint.

Got to watch Drew in his early career here in San Diego. Hated to see him go. Hate to think about what we missed by losing him. Thanks Cris for acknowledging a great talent, and as great a man off the field.
Can’t hear this „ring debate“ anymore! Rings are about the team! Brees will lead every important QB stat after his career! He plays in a tough division over almost 2 decades on a unbelievable level! Three 5000-yards season? How many had all other QB‘s combined in the NFL history!?!?!? Stop it! He is the 🐐!! Respect!
2 mvp should be 3 but Peyton’s the nfls best friend Carolina went to the super bowl then Atlanta went and New Orleans the next season almost made it to the super bowl very thought division.
Thank you First Thing First for acknowledging the true accomplishment this was and striking down poorly argued arguments against Drew Brees' and the N.O. Saint's great achievement. I stopped watching "other" commentators within a minute of them spewing nonsense and right to your show. How can anyone say someone's a GOAT(Brady, Bron) and Brees isn't because he played this era and under a certain system? Thank you again for truth FTF! Edit: I'm not a Saints fan. I'm a football fan.
Well you as a football fan should know these attitudes exist, look no further than the old head NBA fans who says this era doesn't compared to Jordan's era.
I can't wait for a legit DOCUMENTARY of Brees and his legacy with the Saints. Before him, They were the aints and had 1 playoff win. Ever in franchise history. The bag heads. The franchise was going to leave the city before Katrina and more so after. Brees saved the city. Half my family lives there and he is the most loved person, like Jesus. And the amount of giving back to the community is amazing. He saved so many small businesses. His story could last 24 hours and I would watch every minute. The best pure quarterback ever period.
Just imagine if Brees had at the very least a top 10 defense for a majority of his career. I guarantee he would have at least 3+ rings at this point easy..... he has so many more records over most of the other quarterbacks and he has played in a pretty tough division for most of his career. As opposed to Brady (Don’t get me wrong Brady is the goat) who gets to run the table just about every season in their slack division... I definitely believe he is one of the 🐐’s.
When you don't want to acknowledge something, you'll make the most stupid excuses to minimize Drew Brees accomplishments. None of the modern (2000-now), would last 10 years when Fran Tarkenton got his 47,003 yds and 342 Td Passes. I'd like to see Tom Brady take the beatings Tarkenton, Staubach, Bradshaw or Stabler took and see if he had accomplished something great (dresses in QBs). Drew Brees is one of the Greatest QBs to ever played the game. Stop making excuses (Sean Payton throws in every play, He only has 1 Lombardi, Drew is the guy next door) or whatever silly nonsense you make up to minimize Drew Brees career. He is the reigning king of passing yards and will be on TD passes before he retires.
They to deep just give the man his props. That's an unbelievable achievement that's greatest. You are the all time passing leader in history. Stop hating. U suppose to be honoring this dude.
I doubt it. Maybe have an exhibit on the history of African American QBs that prominently features him. As a player he isn't even close to a HOFer. He also retired in 1989 so the Hall has made it's feelings clear on that.
Let's all just be glad we're able to watch the greatest quarterbacks play play the position EVER, and see the all-time greats in Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Ben Roethlisberger. Love them or hate them, they are GREAT. And it has been fun, and I've enjoyed every game I've got to see these men play, and I'll be able to tell my children I saw them play, and attest to their greatness.
They kept Warren Moon out of the league because he was a black QB and wouldn't change positions. Went to the CFL for 5 years and turned some heads. Houston and Seattle offered him contracts. He chose Houston, and became the highest paid QB.. thus, paving the way for black quarterbacks for the future.
While Williams did blaze some trails by being the 1st Black QB taken in the NFL draft (Though Eldridge Dickey went in the 1st round to the pre merger Raiders of the AFL 10 years earlier in the 1st round) and the 1st black QB to win a Super Bowl (and was the SB MVP) he wasn't very good. He was a legit NFL player but if he was the gold standard of what a Black QB could do then there still wouldn't be very many Black QBs. Warren Moon was an amazing football player that put together a no doubt HOF career despite losing several prime years to his time in the CFL
xTrmVelocity dan Marino has 0 tings and he is top 10 Drew Brees has one an dis top 5 rings is a team accomplishment if Brady was on a bad team he would not be even close to Brees
xTrmVelocity and you are telling me Eli Manning is better than Dan Marino because he has more SB than Dan so no you just sound stupid you sound ignorant when you compare who has more rings
It literally makes me sick how underrated he is. When people compare him to other qbs its qbs like newton wilson and roethlisberger but he should be being compared with brady and rodgers.
Lol how Nick gonna disrespect Doug Flutie? Do they not know it was Doug Flutie that mentored Drew brees on the Chargers when Brees was a rookie? Flutie was the starter playing with Ladainian Tomlinson before drew actually got his shot. Flutie didn't need to excel at the "highest lvl" to open doors for guys like brees. The guy had to go to the Canadian league for crying out loud because he was overlooked despite his college success. It was a blessing for him to be there in San Diego with Brees. It was he PERFECT person to help drew along the journey. Flutieflakes was a cereal. Drew even said Flutie helped him in an interview with the herds Collin just recently after his record night.
Brees is a great QB.There have been other great “short QB’s”.Sonny Jurgenson 5’11”,Len Dawson 6’,Bob Griese 6’ feet at best, listed at6’1”,but stands noticeably shorter than 6’Paul Warfield and 6’1”Larry Little in perfect season reunion video,Joe Theisman 5’11”,Brian Sipe 6’,Steve Young 6’,Jeff Garcia,Mike Vick 6’ and Russell Wilson 5’10.Johnny Unitas,Bart Starr,Joe Namath,Joe Montana,Brett Farve,Aaron Rodgers are all 6’1” to 6’2”.The idea that the taller the better is relative.Ideal is about 6’3”.Better to be 6’1than 6’6,definitely better to be 6’ than 6’7 +.Good athleticism,a pro arm,and quick smooth throwing motion with a high release point, like Brees,Brady,Rodgers and all the great passers.Baker Mayfield has what it takes to great.Case Keenum is another effective smaller QB,if he had a little stronger arm he would be more consistent.Bottom line you’d be foolish to pass on a great passer just because he’s less than 6’2”
What makes it all the more impressive is if you went back in time to 2003 and mentioned Drew Brees' name to a dedicated NFL fan, they'll likely reply, "Oh, that guy really sucks!" Great, he's been, although Brees might retire with a Steve Young-like career: Elite QB, gets to a Super Bowl and wins it, then has several close-call seasons.
Hey and look at that....a white guy that is smart and throws with accuracy.....not the running qb who runs better than he throws......good lord....abolish the running qb and good things will happen for your team.....or go with the brother that runs better than he throws and see how that works for ya....lol...youll be going to your back up lol
What??? I agree Drew Brees story is very great!! But come on it can never compare to Brady story !!! No one can compare to Brady’s story!! 6th round pick !!! 3 string qb, to becoming a 5x Super Bowl champion and one of the best qbs to ever throw the ball!!! Chill out for crying out loud ! Brees is impressive but Brady story is legendary!!
Mike N Nice and I would agree with you! But come on man 6th round 199 pick is basically going undrafted lol so I still give the edge to Brady! Think about Kurt Warner didn’t have to fight for the starting job once the Rams gave him a chance! Brady was 3rd string some say 4th string that’s tough
Gary Turbo that was the players amongst themselves gambling a pool of money. Coaches never paid anyone. Sean Payton didn’t even know about it and he got suspended a full year. What a joke by Goodell
How Much They Paid Those Equipment Guys To Deflate The Football For Tom? Or How Much The Paid The Training Staff To Video Walk Thru Practices Before The Super Bowl? 🤔
Game was so rigged for brees to get the record . Dude was wide open nobody near him and ironically his family walked onto the field before that play . It’s like Kobe’s last game , they didn’t guard him and let him score willingly .
"Rigged"... don't make me laugh. Wanna know why he was so wide open? He played Josh Norman like a fiddle. He faked a pass down to Alvin Kamara and Josh Norman bit the cheese and Brees punished them over the top. Brees is ELITE and no one, not even Brady, plays the position better. Patriots have had better teams, but Brees is consistently better than Brady.
What are your thoughts on Drew Brees becoming the NFL's all-time passing leader?
My thoughts are that he is 1 of the GOATs and that he's better than Rodgers. He doesn't fold under pressure like Rodgers has been doing as of late.
@@daprinceofhiphop I agree 100%

I can't wait for a legit DOCUMENTARY of Brees and his legacy with the Saints.
Before him, They were the aints and had 1 playoff win. Ever in franchise history. The bag heads. The franchise was going to leave the city before Katrina and more so after. Brees saved the city. Half my family lives there and he is the most loved person, like Jesus. And the amount of giving back to the community is amazing. He saved so many small businesses.
His story could last 24 hours and I would watch every minute.
The best pure quarterback ever period.
Finally someone who doesn’t discredit Brees on his achievement rather than overshadowing Brady Rodgers and Manning.
Drew Brees opened up the door for us to be able to open up the door
Just imagine if Brees had at the very least a top 10 defense for a majority of his career. I guarantee he would have at least 3+ rings at this point easy..... he has so many more records over most of the other quarterbacks and he has played in a pretty tough division for most of his career. As opposed to Brady (Don’t get me wrong Brady is the goat) who gets to run the table just about every season in their slack division... I definitely believe he is one of the 🐐’s.
Micah Turner Brees would have 7 rings with a defense
Drew Brees journey would give a good movie script
Flutie opened the door. Brees busted it off the hinges.
Drew Brees is a pretty thick dude actually. Have you seen his neck? His body?
It could not have happen to a better person in my mind this is the best QB in the league ever "who Dat " said they going to take this record!!!!!!!
It's interesting to ponder the possibilities if Nick Saban had picked Brees over Culpepper in Miami.
A lot of college programs wish he did. :)
Drew Brees for NFL MVP!!!!!!
It makes you feel good seeing Tom Green getting some work again after Mtv. Sports were a surprise, but still. Good on him.
Thank the lord you all are the only ones not disrespecting the man.
If he get MVP than we can put him up there with greatest all time
You can be a 5'11 QB and be a pocket passer in this league. Drew showed you that.
Is Drew Brees the Steph Curry of the NFL?
No, Drew has class.
Just a detail, Breed did play againt NO once, if he hadn't we wouldn've have the "beat all 32 teams" conversation when we played the Ravens.
Watching Brees and Brady right now is like watching Mcgwire and Sosa battle it out for home run record.
minus the 'roids
Funny, I thought Doug Williams opened the door for black QB's and Fran Tarkenton and Sonny Jurgensen for the short guys... all HOFers.
YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH exactly
Doug Williams isn't in the HOF, but he obviously a pioneering figure in league history.
True but give it time
I doubt it.
Maybe have an exhibit on the history of African American QBs that prominently features him.
As a player he isn't even close to a HOFer.
He also retired in 1989 so the Hall has made it's feelings clear on that.
Chris Carter Loves Chris Carter
Drew Brees>Aaron Rogers
Drew Brees>Tom Brady
Drew Brees>Peyton Manning
=Stats > Winning
Let's all just be glad we're able to watch the greatest quarterbacks play play the position EVER, and see the all-time greats in Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Ben Roethlisberger. Love them or hate them, they are GREAT. And it has been fun, and I've enjoyed every game I've got to see these men play, and I'll be able to tell my children I saw them play, and attest to their greatness.
Numbers don't lie
doug williams opened the door for black quarterbacks
They kept Warren Moon out of the league because he was a black QB and wouldn't change positions. Went to the CFL for 5 years and turned some heads. Houston and Seattle offered him contracts. He chose Houston, and became the highest paid QB.. thus, paving the way for black quarterbacks for the future.
What does that have to do with anything??
Drew Brees is better than Aaron Rodgers
brees is like a 2nd coming of jesus saving new orleans and the saints
Stud !! & seemingly a class act .
He's the GOAT.
How many rings does he have?
xTrmVelocity dan Marino has 0 tings and he is top 10 Drew Brees has one an dis top 5 rings is a team accomplishment if Brady was on a bad team he would not be even close to Brees
Atomic TV preach
xTrmVelocity and you are telling me Eli Manning is better than Dan Marino because he has more SB than Dan so no you just sound stupid you sound ignorant when you compare who has more rings
Divine intervention is the ONLY answer of how a new coach, injured QB, and the spirit of New Orleans can do what the Saints have done!
You should compare and contrast your take with Shannon and Skip's.
7700Purplexity shannon and skip completely dogged drew brees
Great argument...
Brees should have won 2 mvps...2009 and 2011. If he had just a top 20 defense for most of his career he would have at least 3 rings
Who Dat nuff said
Brees is a great QB.There have been other great “short QB’s”.Sonny Jurgenson 5’11”,Len Dawson 6’,Bob Griese 6’ feet at best, listed at6’1”,but stands noticeably shorter than 6’Paul Warfield and 6’1”Larry Little in perfect season reunion video,Joe Theisman 5’11”,Brian Sipe 6’,Steve Young 6’,Jeff Garcia,Mike Vick 6’ and Russell Wilson 5’10.Johnny Unitas,Bart Starr,Joe Namath,Joe Montana,Brett Farve,Aaron Rodgers are all 6’1” to 6’2”.The idea that the taller the better is relative.Ideal is about 6’3”.Better to be 6’1than 6’6,definitely better to be 6’ than 6’7 +.Good athleticism,a pro arm,and quick smooth throwing motion with a high release point, like Brees,Brady,Rodgers and all the great passers.Baker Mayfield has what it takes to great.Case Keenum is another effective smaller QB,if he had a little stronger arm he would be more consistent.Bottom line you’d be foolish to pass on a great passer just because he’s less than 6’2”
Nick Saban Did want Drew Brees and left because they made him take Fatpepper.....
Get your facts straight and I do love Chris!!
Yep. but the GM wouldn't let him.
Brees>Rodgers or Peyton. All day everyday
How about tarkinton. Maybe 5 11 and maybe 180lbs
better then first take by a long shot
My goodness @JennaWolfe lookin like a Million dollars!!! Let the money talk baby!!! 💰 Work it girl!!
🐐
WHO DAT!?!?!?
He's still behind Manning, Brady, and Favre in both yards and touchdowns if you actually include the playoffs.
He's also the leader in garbage time passing yards. Facts
@@deeznutz345 true
@@deeznutz345 You guys are also the leaders in hating greatness. Facts
@@jacksonenglade6054 Just stating facts
Haters..... garbage time really........ how is garbage time if I'm throwing, you know I'm throwing and you still can't stop it...
Hey and look at that....a white guy that is smart and throws with accuracy.....not the running qb who runs better than he throws......good lord....abolish the running qb and good things will happen for your team.....or go with the brother that runs better than he throws and see how that works for ya....lol...youll be going to your back up lol
warren moon wasn't a good qb
Nick, both are actual prejudices by definition. One is so
Who is the “Pinhead White guy?”
winning he will never be considered better than farve manning montana elway brady
Exactly, no one can cheat like Tom Brady
Hey if we're going for the greatest longshot story Kurt Warner still has everyone beat.
How exactly do you know all the things Brady does?
*said no one, ever*
Mike N Nice and I would agree with you! But come on man 6th round 199 pick is basically going undrafted lol so I still give the edge to Brady! Think about Kurt Warner didn’t have to fight for the starting job once the Rams gave him a chance! Brady was 3rd string some say 4th string that’s tough
Obviously he's a legend. He's a perennial loser though. I know he won one, he's been out of the playoffs too much
Vsxu Grixh he doesn’t play defence. He consistently puts up 25-30 points a game and his defence gives up 35. How can he be blamed for that?
member 2 years ago when people wanted Brees and that worm coach out after
several 7-9, 8-8 seasons... member??
........No
How much bounties they paid the defense?
Gary Turbo that was the players amongst themselves gambling a pool of money. Coaches never paid anyone. Sean Payton didn’t even know about it and he got suspended a full year. What a joke by Goodell
How Much They Paid Those Equipment Guys To Deflate The Football For Tom? Or How Much The Paid The Training Staff To Video Walk Thru Practices Before The Super Bowl? 🤔
Game was so rigged for brees to get the record . Dude was wide open nobody near him and ironically his family walked onto the field before that play . It’s like Kobe’s last game , they didn’t guard him and let him score willingly .
as many shots he took, I thought the rim was gonna file harassment charges against him
"Rigged"... don't make me laugh.
@@Frockyyy except... that was supposed to be Cover 3....
Why the black dude sounds so petulant?
Drew Brees for NFL MVP!!!!!!
