My thoughts are that he is 1 of the GOATs and that he's better than Rodgers. He doesn't fold under pressure like Rodgers has been doing as of late.

    • Lost 2010 NFC Wild Card game to a Marshawn Lynch ‘Beast Mode’ run
    • Lost 2011 NFC Division game to Vernon Davis walk-off TD catch with 0:10 seconds remaining
    • Lost 2017 NFC Divisional game to Stefon Diggs ‘Miracle in Minneapolis’ walk-off TD as time expired.
AFC Super Bowl QBs over the last 15 years have been: Big Ben, Brady, Manning, *Flacco (*1 appearance) 😬
NFC has had 12 Super Bowl QBs in that span alone.
Look it’s simple if you take away The Tuck Rule, Spygate, Deflategate, 2 historic Super Bowl collapses (Seahawks & Falcons), 2 Super Bowl winning kicks by Vinatieri, the greatest defensive coach of all time (Bill Belichick), a top 13 ranked defense for 10 seasons, playing in the weakest division (AFC East) & inferior conference, all-pro/pro bowl/or future HoF’s such as Welker, Moss, R.Harrison, Seau, Wilfork, Seymour, Ochocinco, R.Wayne, T.Law, McGinest, Vinatieri, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Mankins, M.Light, Samuel, J.Harrison, D.Branch, Bruschi, McCourty, Gostkowski, Slater, Vrabel, D.Revis, J.Collins, N.Solder, M.Butler, B.Cooks, R.Ninkovich, M.Bennett, Edelman, J. Gordon, you get a team that can go 11-5 & 3-1 without their starting QB. 🤔 It’s not rocket science.
The AFC is far less competitive.
Over the last two decades the Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Jags (pre-‘17), Texans, Titans, Browns, Bengals, Raiders have all been far less competitive, making the AFC an easier path for players like Tom, Ben, & Peyton to succeed deep into the playoffs.
I could just list NFC accomplishments but instead here’s a look at just the NFC SOUTH .....
NFC South since 2002 has produced 24 playoff berths
2003 - Bucs SB XXXVII Champions
2004 - Panthers NFC SB representatives
2005 - Panthers play NFC Championship game vs. Seahawks
2006 - Saints play NFC Championship
    game vs. Bears
2007 - Bucs lose Wild Card to SB champion Giants
2008 - Panthers lose divisional game to NFC SB representative Cardinals
2009 - Saints win SB XLIV
2010 - Falcons lose divisional game to SB champion Packers
2010 - Saints lose Wild Card game to Seahawks
2011 - Saints lose divisional game to 49ers
2012 - Falcons lose divisional game NFC SB representative 49ers
2013 - Panthers lose division game to 49ers
2014 - Panthers lose divisional game to SB champion Seahawks
2015 - Panthers NFC SB representatives
2016 - Falcons NFC SB representatives
2017 Panthers lose Wild Card game to Saints
2017 - Saints lose divisional game to Vikings
2017 - Falcons lose divisional game to SB champion Eagles
You know this is just an opinion right? 😉

    • @ryapowa
      @ryapowa 6 лет назад

@Brendan Costa There are at least 3 great QBs in the NFC South, so of course those numbers get skewed. MY point was that you pointed out that Brees has 500 more attempts and then went on to say that Brees has more yards per attempt which shows that he's going to get more yards than Brady regardless of how many times they each throw the ball.

As a Saints fan I had to watch this video. Drew Brees was indeed a God send to New Orleans, who in combination with Sean Payton, have fostered a winning attitude much needed in this franchise. The only thing not mentioned in this video, which I believe separates Drew Brees from all of the other elite quarterbacks is his work ethic. Drew Brees is the consummate professional who works hard, studies hard and ultimately plays hard. Other quarterbacks are possibly more talented, but don't put forth the effort as a Drew Brees. When compared to some of the best, let's never forget the internal drive brought to the game, the mind set which is always at the heart of Drew's talent, which is work hard and you will be rewarded. Thank you Drew Brees for all of your amazing personal accomplishments, and more so that these have occurred with you being a New Orleans Saint.

Before him, They were the aints and had 1 playoff win. Ever in franchise history. The bag heads. The franchise was going to leave the city before Katrina and more so after. Brees saved the city. Half my family lives there and he is the most loved person, like Jesus. And the amount of giving back to the community is amazing. He saved so many small businesses.

I guarantee he would have at least 3+ rings at this point easy..... he has so many more records over most of the other quarterbacks and he has played in a pretty tough division for most of his career. As opposed to Brady (Don’t get me wrong Brady is the goat) who gets to run the table just about every season in their slack division... I definitely believe he is one of the 🐐’s.

When you don't want to acknowledge something, you'll make the most stupid excuses to minimize Drew Brees accomplishments. None of the modern (2000-now), would last 10 years when Fran Tarkenton got his 47,003 yds and 342 Td Passes. I'd like to see Tom Brady take the beatings Tarkenton, Staubach, Bradshaw or Stabler took and see if he had accomplished something great (dresses in QBs). Drew Brees is one of the Greatest QBs to ever played the game. Stop making excuses (Sean Payton throws in every play, He only has 1 Lombardi, Drew is the guy next door) or whatever silly nonsense you make up to minimize Drew Brees career. He is the reigning king of passing yards and will be on TD passes before he retires.

While Williams did blaze some trails by being the 1st Black QB taken in the NFL draft (Though Eldridge Dickey went in the 1st round to the pre merger Raiders of the AFL 10 years earlier in the 1st round) and the 1st black QB to win a Super Bowl (and was the SB MVP) he wasn't very good.
He was a legit NFL player but if he was the gold standard of what a Black QB could do then there still wouldn't be very many Black QBs.
Warren Moon was an amazing football player that put together a no doubt HOF career despite losing several prime years to his time in the CFL

Lol how Nick gonna disrespect Doug Flutie? Do they not know it was Doug Flutie that mentored Drew brees on the Chargers when Brees was a rookie? Flutie was the starter playing with Ladainian Tomlinson before drew actually got his shot. Flutie didn't need to excel at the "highest lvl" to open doors for guys like brees. The guy had to go to the Canadian league for crying out loud because he was overlooked despite his college success. It was a blessing for him to be there in San Diego with Brees. It was he PERFECT person to help drew along the journey. Flutieflakes was a cereal. Drew even said Flutie helped him in an interview with the herds Collin just recently after his record night.

Brees is a great QB.There have been other great “short QB’s”.Sonny Jurgenson 5’11”,Len Dawson 6’,Bob Griese 6’ feet at best, listed at6’1”,but stands noticeably shorter than 6’Paul Warfield and 6’1”Larry Little in perfect season reunion video,Joe Theisman 5’11”,Brian Sipe 6’,Steve Young 6’,Jeff Garcia,Mike Vick 6’ and Russell Wilson 5’10.Johnny Unitas,Bart Starr,Joe Namath,Joe Montana,Brett Farve,Aaron Rodgers are all 6’1” to 6’2”.The idea that the taller the better is relative.Ideal is about 6’3”.Better to be 6’1than 6’6,definitely better to be 6’ than 6’7 +.Good athleticism,a pro arm,and quick smooth throwing motion with a high release point, like Brees,Brady,Rodgers and all the great passers.Baker Mayfield has what it takes to great.Case Keenum is another effective smaller QB,if he had a little stronger arm he would be more consistent.Bottom line you’d be foolish to pass on a great passer just because he’s less than 6’2”

What makes it all the more impressive is if you went back in time to 2003 and mentioned Drew Brees' name to a dedicated NFL fan, they'll likely reply, "Oh, that guy really sucks!" Great, he's been, although Brees might retire with a Steve Young-like career: Elite QB, gets to a Super Bowl and wins it, then has several close-call seasons.

"Rigged"... don't make me laugh. Wanna know why he was so wide open? He played Josh Norman like a fiddle. He faked a pass down to Alvin Kamara and Josh Norman bit the cheese and Brees punished them over the top. Brees is ELITE and no one, not even Brady, plays the position better. Patriots have had better teams, but Brees is consistently better than Brady.
