I honestly like using FOTD as a wall rather than a zoning tool. I usually bring his Iri addon if I wanna zone with them :>

I have been playing Vecna pretty much nonstop since he came out, and I want to add two uses that are basically the same but in different situations It's what you are showing here 2:12, casting it on top of them if they don't wiggle around too much gives you so little cooldown that you can quickly down them with an M1 or a Mage Hand as survivors in that situation kinda panic and drop quickly. This works really well in situations where the survivors is crossing a door or the map is closed, or when looking for hatch, most survivors just tend to take the M1 in that situation, but doing this destroys them. The second is bodyblocks, FotD can be used there to try and damage the person you are after, but it will 100% damage the bodyblocker and let you down them, maybe not getting who you wanted, but giving you some of the most free downs ever.
Indeed, I just wanted to let people know that some survivors will try to dodge this by running circles around you, and to be careful double tapping them with FOTD. The bodyblocking one is an interesting use case, and you are absolutely cooking on that. If you do damage the bodyblocker, they can't bodyblock for the target anymore without going down in a second
It's so nice to see other Vecna players (I'm not exactly a main of him, but I played him a lot for the reasons you're sharing in your videos): Dropping a follow, you deserve it ^^
FINALLY, like using flight of the damned is just a matter of timing and surprise! Especially with the small window for him to have an instant summon of his flighted of the damned especially when on loops, he’s surprisingly a very strong loop killer even without his mage hand to help!
I’ve been playing dbd for 6+ years and I’m very experienced with Vecna myself but I just decided to click on the vid anyways and honestly, for a small content creator you really 1 upped most bigger dbd content creators, keep it up 👍
A situation like at 3:23 could actually be good. If you used FOTD just a bit later (and a bit more to the right), you could have caused a situation where the Sable would get hit by the attack as soon as she got up (for the pallet throwing animation). With proper timing, you can force the survivor into a nasty situation where they either get hit or get blocked. I've used it a few times already and it has worked in most cases (though, some cases did end up like the one in the video). Few times where it didn't work were when the survivor dodged instead of crouching or when I messed up the timing. Very satisfying to hit !
Oh yeah ofc, I was just showing an example on what not to do. In that situation you'd save FOTD for the second she drops the pallet or bait it and cause her to not drop
Keep up the food work man. Could you maybe post some thought process clips, explaining why and how you did certain things? Maybe suggest a couple builds for different strats? Appreciate it
I think the third comment at 1:23 is talking about the *other* fly spell, not fotd. I mean I could be wrong, but fotd *does* have "flight" in the name, I can see the confusion.
I've always tried to summon the skeletons on top of survivors when they can't see me. For instance, when we're going around a loop, I'm on one side of the wall and the survivor's on the other- so I snap to the side and summon skelts where they're going to be moving, and ideally this happens quick enough for them to be caught off guard and get hit before they even fly. It's a weird short-range damage-wall that also flies off into the distance.
For those who did not know. The central skeleton actually does not deviate/spread, it beelines to whatever direction you're having at the center of your pov, this only happens with the four other skeleton.
The game considers various common actions as being crouched. Repairing gens, cleansing totems, healing oneself. This is why you can't snipe these actions. But there is one action that forces survivors to stand, healing another. So if by Aura or the Dispelling Sphere you see a survivor healing another, shoot a skeleton at the healer. Best case, you injure the healer and interrupt the heal. Worst case, you just interrupt the heal.
4:14 (1) The long shot skelly cannon hits gives me big brain juice (2) They work for me they do damage or no bone meal for them (3) They will bow to me or suffer. Vecna still kind of low tier. Cool downs are too harsh. I understand they wanted a D&D theme but in their game a 1 minute cast time is an entire generator.
I think he's around B+ tier, it's hard to quantify his strength and yeah his cooldowns are super punishing but proper use of his abilities can really work against survivors
I haven't tested this in detail but I've definitely seen a stack not be taken away when skeletoning the obsession, even though it's supposed to. I suppose it's just a bit of bugged vecna tech don't tell behavior 🤔
Been noticing the good players were using it as close as possible. Forcing them into vaulting and getting a guaranteed hit. If casting directly on top of a survivor they have like less than a half second to duck and it's almost impossible half of the time.

You said that placing FOTD on top of the survivors gives them no time to react but that's not actually true. We are playing against good survivors and everyone knows that they keep track of the killer every second. They will see your animation and crouch immediately, rendering FOTD useless. If you try to use it on loops, they still crouch in time because they are aware of your every move. Hm.. then use it in loops where they can't see you. Well, they have ears... I don't know how they do it. They just know that you are going to spawn them there. But how? Enlighten me, please.
Even though they can hear it and crouch it, it is possible to fake the animation instead of throwing the FOTD, that way, the simple movement can affect entirely an loop. Even if you are in a situation where the survivor can make it into a pallet, it is possible to utilize Mage Hand. The thing is, Vecna isn’t a really oppressive killer, but there is indeed some depth to every single spell of his (except for dispel, cuz, well, big ball)
If you insta place the skeletons, there's a very slim time where they can react, but it's not feasible to do every time. You're likely getting survivors that are predicting the skeletons rather than reacting to them. If you spend time aiming the skeletons they'll be able to react sooner, but generally it's almost impossible to react to instaskeletons that spawn on top of the survivor, but they are definitely predictable at times
Guys... I'm not an idiot aye? I don't just hold FOTD in my hand (holding M2) and literally showing them "Hey look I'm gonna use FOTD!" No. I engage them in chase and I make them think that I'm just chasing them. Then when they are at the pallet or anywhere when they don't see me, I wait for my chance to use FOTD. I see it but guess what? Even if I placed FOTD on top of them, they somehow react (meaning they have 3 business years for a reaction) and they dodge it. To exemplify, imagine azarov's place. Most of the loops are see through or there are no walls. I loop them you know... normally. Then I immediately use FOTD when they look away. They still crouch despite placing FOTD on top of them. Yes, I mastered the diatance for FOTD to be placed on them. Yeah... they have lots of time to react if they are good survivors. Also no. They are not predicting.
@@staringbird They ARE predicting, because that's the only thing you can do at the instaskelly distance. I know because I do it all the time against vecna. Not only that but if you are getting your instaskellys crouched so often that it's an issue, and these survivors are "reacting", then you can just repeatedly tap m2 just like a slinger and gain distance without even getting your skeleton on cd.
Nah, I'll keep using Book of Vile Darkness + Ornate Horn Make those wretched fools think themselves safe when they grovel on the floor and yet, they suffer all the same.
That's why I was curious yeah, I'm pretty sure crouching was always meant to be the counterplay. They made the skeletons faster and all the spells slow you down less but I don't remember anything about uncrouchable skeletons

Not only that but if you are getting your instaskellys crouched so often that it's an issue, and these survivors are "reacting", then you can just repeatedly tap m2 just like a slinger and gain distance without even getting your skeleton on cd.
people are complaining about a guaranteed hit at most pallets copium
Yes
this video is fye
thank you my goat
Nah, I'll keep using Book of Vile Darkness + Ornate Horn
Make those wretched fools think themselves safe when they grovel on the floor and yet, they suffer all the same.
You are absolutely real for that. I prefer the five crouchable skeletons but that combo is super strong and has it's own use cases.
@@ArshieMeBob let's not forget survivors desperately trying to vault the window i just flew through and it being entity blocked, hilarious every time
Absolutely. Most survivors don't know what his iris do so it's fun catching them off guard with them
For the record, Behavior stated crouching the skeletons would not be possible after the PTB, but yeah look where we are.
@@cjames9320 did they really? Honestly if he got 5 crouchable skeletons he'd be so much more oppressive
I think it’s good that they are crouchable. It makes good counter play and it still slows the survivors so you can catch up to them.
They never said that, nobody wanted that feature removed
That's why I was curious yeah, I'm pretty sure crouching was always meant to be the counterplay. They made the skeletons faster and all the spells slow you down less but I don't remember anything about uncrouchable skeletons
@@ZWallAbuser ignorance is bliss, I guess, but yes, they did make that statement.

Great vid but idk tf ur talking abt but keep posting yt is going well
@@falconplays2024 thanks cuz
Tbh this still sounds like copium. Like it's just a bad ability that you're squeezing some sort of utility from.
@@kevingrisler4123 by design, its weaker than a lot of other killer powers. It's by no means a bad ability though. Just has its use cases.
