Brilliant video. Always apprehensive doing repairwork, but your straightforward explanations helped reassure. With some Arctic MX-6 the laptop's gone from being able to fry an egg after 5mins light usage to running cool to the touch under load. I did seem to have only two screw lengths on the case (the small dyed blue and two long) but its still secure.

Thanks for the video! Just a quick question: is it GPU near the bigger CPU chip?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Месяц назад +3

🫠Regarding your question, this laptop does not have a dedicated GPU installed; the only GPU available is integrated into the CPU.
The CPU chip consists of two crystal dies: one die is a PCH chip, and the other (the larger die) contains both the CPU and the GPU in the same crystal.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
      cheers🍻

Thanks for making this video, it really helped me repaste my own laptop.
I noticed that unlike my previous laptops, this one has a section with thermal pads and some batches of thick thermal paste at the top? What parts are those?
The thick layer of paste has dried out, so I replaced both that and the pads for thermal grizzly thermal pads, since I couldn't apply the paste to bridge the gap. For the CPU and GPU, I of course used paste (thermal grizzly for thosa as well). Will this cause any issues?
Also, Is there any reason why the wents are directly above the CPU (leaving some part of the motherboard uncovered) instead of the heatsink/fan?
    Thanks in advance.

those components are the power regulator and you could change the thermal pads for them and use thermal paste got the CPU dye, never use pate where pads are.
the vent is to suck the air across the motherboard so it can have air flow to passively cool down other components of the board, if the vent was directly under the fan it would had suck 90% of the air from there and that way the motherboard would of heat up more.
      cheers🍻

Hello, Thanks for sharing this video!!! Regarding the thermal pad for the CPU's VRM, may i ask what thickness is the best for this laptop?

It's my pleasure my friend, i appreciate your support.
🫠Regarding your question, you can place a .5mm thermal pads and you be fine, don't go anything over that, as it will counter push the heatsink away from CPU.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
      cheers🍻

Regarding your question, it is normal to have it clogged because of not doing the servicing on time, you need to do your cleaning and service every year, else you will face over heating and sudden shutdown and slowing down the laptop.

Non si riesce ad aprire il pc con un plettro. Continuo a spaccarli.

Devi usare un plettro metallico da 0,3 mm.
