Ben! Been a huge fan ever since you started it blade HQ and did your amazing videos. I really do miss your “what is up guys!!” I am really excited for this folder you’ve made. I love my banter and I can’t wait to check this one out.
@@markcoffman494 Thank you, Mark! I appreciate the support over the years. That means a lot to me, and I'm stoked to have you on board for this next edition.
Wow!!! All the knife guys in one video!!! Zac, Jaime, Ben, and Kurt!!!! Doesn’t get any better than this. Hey Ben, create a whole line of this type of frame/knife.
We are so lucky to have you in the knife community Zac. I really love the content and most of all the enthusiasm. We are equally lucky to have Ben also and as a designer. I really love how he built this for the knife guy. Everything that is not allowed to do to other knife brands such as take apart etc, we are able to do this this knife, plus Ben had made it extremely simple. It sucks having a perfectly tuned pivot and you decide to add some afternmarket scales and after installing those scales the action is no longer perfect because you had to pull out the pivot screw. Thanks for fixing this Ben. 🤙
Ik this video is about Ben and his new product, which are both great, but can we take a moment to appreciate Zacs creativity? Having your very own channel is a new venue for you still, and it’s fun to see your creative side in a way we haven’t seen it before. I like it!
Can’t wait for this. Ben and Zac got me into knives and customizing them. This is the perfect combination of the two. Got to find a way to add a speaker to say "What iiiiiiiiiiisssss up guys” when you flick the knife open.
Definitely going to get one. I don't know you guys but through seeing your videos and social media you all seem like stand up people. It would be a pleasure to get one.
There's a lot to love in this video. Cool knife. Great philosophy around modding/repairs. All the OG's. Great low-fi soundtrack. Space sequence. Oh and pocket clip by Mary Poppins!
I really like what Ben is doing with this. I'm a huge proponent of DIY culture, so it immediately caught my attention when I read he was releasing the CAD files for the scales. That's freaking amazing! I'm also looking forward to seeing what scale options they offer on the site. I've enjoyed my Cat Astronaut WE Banter and would love to get some matching scales. You know, I think I'm going to carry my Banter today. lol Thanks for the video and keep up the guest appearances of the old BHQ crew! It's fun to see you all hanging out.
I can't wait, anyone who has followed y'all or has had an interest in the knife world and watched a few of the oldie but goodie videos know that his love of knives is sincere and I really hope this knife takes off like crazy. I Already have a list of friends that I have to get them for, in my group I am the knife nut, So I can't wait.
Ben, that looks like a winning concept for a modder knife, and it should appeal to a very wide customer range too. I really like the idea of getting the index finger as far forward as possible, it's a big pet peeve when there is like an inch useless space where the balance point is.
Great looking knife, great materials. I've had a knife of some kind in my pocket for 30 years and have just recently wanted to mod one. I love the fact that you don't have to mess with the pivot or blade centering. The fact that you provide the cad file is awesome! I'd like to get a lander and put some copper scales on it.
I received one of these as a gift recently and what impresses me the most about this knife is just how compact it is. When I saw it had a 3 inch blade, I was expecting the size to be akin to maybe my Slim Buck 112 Ranger or Sog Terminus XR, so I was pretty blown away when I got it in hand and discovered it was noticeably smaller than either knife. It's actually smaller than even my Kershaw Cryo or CRKT Piet, and both of those knives have blades around a quarter of an inch shorter than the Lander. I don't know how Ben pulled it off, but I'm genuinely impressed that he has managed to fit a 3" blade into a truly compact package. The action is solid, but I am a bit underwhelmed that it's slightly crunchy for the asking price of almost $60. It'll probably improve with a touch of oil and some use, and is really my only complaint with the knife. The packaging was nice and minimalistic, and came with some spare screws as well as a humorous instruction manual. I genuinely hope that the modular concept takes off and that little issues like the action can be smoothed out with time.
The smile on my face grew and grew as this video went on and then my jaw dropped when I saw the Hams, no mistaking those with gym shorts out of focus in the back lol
After several month researching a few different knives I finally pull the trigger on the lander! First time with a d2 blade..can’t wait to get it! Great review..I’ve watched it a few times 😅
Hey Ben miss ya on Knife Banter and Blade HQ. Sweet knife I just got one on kickstarter. Congrats on going into business and I hope you get massive growth
A Ben Banters knife, with Zac promoting in a video that I assume was filmed by Jamie, featuring “The Hams,” I am so in! I am the least tinkery, modding, mechanically curious person in the knife community, but I MUST support this endeavor. I want my knaf brethren to have access to such an open-source wonderland! Charge on Mr Petersen & Co! #Knafs
Literally just made my kickstarter pledge for the Lander! So glad I’m subbed to your channel and was able to find out about Bens latest creation. Really excited for this knife and the ease of modding it!
Yup… I have the Banter and Baby Banter, so I had to get this one!! So excited. I’ll take a Carbon Fiber, Fat Carbon, and a Ti one, too, when you start to sell those scales. And the steel in S35VN, 20CV, and M390… 👍🗡
Cowabunga Zac.! The "Knafs Co Lander" please translate.! We can see DNA from the Banter & Elementum with a slight touch of Bugout. Bet it can do more than that ten thousand dollar knife you've held when with Blade HQ. Great design & engineering. Anything that Ben do is good for the us knife folks. Keep rocking Ben.! Cheers for the segment mate. Stay safe people. Greetings from Australia.
I can has it?? In all seriousness, dang... That knife is super rad!! I love the philosophy behind it, simply brilliant! Well done, Ben!! And thank you, Zac, for such a thorough (and entertaining) review!! I'll be looking into purchasing one real soon....
I think this is going to be a fun knife in the fact you can change the color of the scales for anything. Holiday colors, school colors. The possibilities are endless and non knife folks may be more accepting if the knife is in fun colors and not look so tactical. I think this one is going to be a winner!
Love this. Would love to see an axis style lock in the Knafs Co. lineup. Great job Ben it's an awesome looking knife with a great concept, can't wait to own one!
Such an awesome knife. I just saw this video a couple months late, but damn. Some of those space/astronaut themed scales looked amazing, and I have a resin 3D printer, so the ability to print some wild colored scales?? Oh dude that's awesome 😆 I was grinning during the whole video. The modular capabilities for people to tinker with and enjoy is badass, and awesome to see you guys thinking so much about the consumer. Not to mention the knife just looks great. Freaking good job to everyone who worked on that, and thank you. My wallet will thank you too with how easy it is to swap those scales rather than having multiples of the same knife with different scales 😂
Awesomeness!!!! Both the video and the Knaf! I'm definitely going to pick one up at some point. Keep pumping out rad content Zac, and Ben with the solid, simple USEFUL knife designs. 🤙🤙🤙
Cool stuff and like the accessible price point. Good luck Ben with getting this off the ground. I’m sure with the followership and network y’all have created, should be no problem. Happy to help and order one of the first.

Thanks Zac, love your videos. Looks like a great simple non-scary and affordable knife! It would also make great gifts with funny pics on the scales. Then question (and sorry I'm a newbie in all of this and I did not find the answer in the other comments), we see on the video some custom scales with pics of you, a sheep, the moon, etc... How do you make them? Not 3d printer is it? It would be great if we could send pictures to knafe and order a pair of scale with the pics on them
Sweet! Will buy when I see it in Europe with aluminium or titanium scales 🙂 (Emagine blue anodised, contoured scales with that griptillian checkering 💙)
The screws look a little small. If your gonna make a knife you can modify and take apart you need good hardened screws and hardware, at least T8. Also the plunge grind looks like it could use some work. Awesome idea and perfect size for edc though definitely worth checking out.
It’d be super cool to collab with flytanium and get some cross fade micarta scales. Or some natural burlap ones! I can see a blade hq exclusive with jade g10 and some s35vn too! Love this already. Need to hop on the kickstart
Hey Ben, this knife looks sick! I just got my hands on the Baby Banter and I'm completely in love with it. In fact, I've now bought 3 of them in total. My question is, will that little pocket clip cut-out filler piece I see on the Lander fit onto the Baby Banter? I would love to fill in the unused cutout on the non-clip side.
