Just found your channel. I absolutely love the way you actually explain things compared to so many others that don't. Thanks for the upload and sharing the information/knowledge.
Really appreciate the kind words and thanks for checking out the channel definitely try to bring some kind of perspective on things that I have looked around RUclips for and just can’t find.
Best explanation so far.. seen to many vdos with official lights(expensive) thanks for helping out.. do post such non official part installation vdos.. all the best..
Thanks to you I can finally turn my Trx4 lights on/off from my GT3C! This setup should have came installed from the factory on these pricey little beasts imo. Great mod!
Awesome glad it helped you out. This comment actually made my night a little better. Currently fighting trying to put a new receiver in my UDR. This thing is almost impossible to get your hands inside of
So the light module is constantly seeing 2s power, as in 7.4V? Does this increase or stay the same if running a 3s battery to power the RC? Great description and information 👍
honestly, I can’t remember I think that it does step the voltage down the lighting control module is plugged in to the ESC but I would have to break out the voltmeter and actually check it. I know that it can handle whatever battery that that ESC can handle the other wire that is the tripwire to turn it on and off, that is just saying 5.5 V from the receiver. I can check the voltage with a voltmeter and see I’m actually kind of curious now that you asked that.
Awesome sorry it took me a few days to get it up and going filmed one portion of it the other night and it just didn’t look very good And yeah with that radio you’ll be able to program it no problem
Really appreciate the comment and hate just have fun and you’ll learn a lot about these I learned a lot of this by just messing up lol really need to start doing videos again been doing a lot of stuff just haven’t had the filming bug. Have fun out there
So if you’re asking what voltage the lights actually run on it’s 3.5 to 5 V. However the lighting control unit actually gets direct power from the battery and it can be see it either 2 or 3s Power and it just steps the voltage down to what the Traxxas lights use. Hope this helps most Traxxas electronics such as servos and everything like that generally is limited to 6 V. Most of the time they don’t like anything more than that

Excellent illustrations rc parts for trx4👌👌👌
I like those apex switched have a pair in a stampede one on the bumper lights and the other on a lightbar on the roof.
They work really well especially for the money definitely a good thing for your dollar

Nice DIY guide, good job my friend
Great video....thanks for sharing
Great video. Do you know what the maximum input voltage is for the Traxxas light connector?

Nice dude
The JST lead from the light controller to the ESC has 2 black wires ? Which is + - ??? A JST can be plugged in either way and will fry the controller.
Good Vid
