- Barry Manilow is opening up for the first time about his sexuality. The 73-year-old music legend has been in a nearly 40-year romance with his manager-turned-husband Garry Kief. For decades, the "Copacabana" singer, attempted to hide his sexuality, saying in the new issue of People magazine, "I thought I would be disappointing [fans] if they knew I was gay. I was 10 when he had his hit song Mandy....and I could tell he was gay. But it really doesn't matter if he's gay or not, he sure can sing.

he never wrote "all the time". he wrote surprisingly few of the songs he sang, although I believe because he classed himself more as a writer of music that he has many compositions. And when he did write the music to a song he sang? some one else always wrote the lyrics. "All the time" was written about people feeling weird growing up as teenagers.

Personally, I find it much more freakish that he allowed himself to be portrayed as a heartthrob to a generation of teens when he was old enough to be our father. He was my first crush, and much later I found out that he is actually older than my mother. That is absolutely creepy.
