I would take the older W201 over the new car any day of the week Mercedes of old were engineered like no other car.
The older W201 will go forever you cannot kill them, it is timeless & restrained just like a Mercedes should be none of this show off BS. The new car does't have that same special feeling of quality or engineering as the old one,
nothing says quality like an old Benz with that heavy door thunk.
Owned both a W201 and my current car is a W205 2017 C250 I've had for four years now..I couldn't disagree more and unlike you I guarantee you I've owned both...You could say that statement for so many thirty year old cars but when they were so basic inside and out there wasn't much to go wrong either..Id take a W205 every day of the year to a W201.. like comparing a 90s CRT TV to a 85" OLED, you just can't compare the two.

I have family who've killed three of them. They're not indestructible.
@@AkioWasRight nothing last for ever. But these cars are very well built. Something I’m not prepared to say about the new ones.

Their general build quality was superior, but the mechanical and electrical sides of these cars were just mediocre at best.
In many ways, that's true today.
Yeah the old ones were built to the highest possible standards and you could tell. The current cars are basically disposable products with plenty of planned obsolescence and brittle plastics. No one will want them after 15 years of life.
I had the W202 now got a W202 ( also had a W124 W210 ) And now i got a W208 and a lovely W203. ( as well as XF falcons and ba falcons )
i also have a lovely W211
And i have to say the W206 is lovely i love it

A good video would be to see it compared to a the old S class variants to truly see how much it’s grown

Could be interesting to compare the original C to the current A sedan. That’s probably a more like for like comparison?
I have the w201 in my profile and I will soon buy a w204 facelift
