I like these coaching series, I myself never played ladder before (only co-op/campaigns), thinking maybe to try out few matches to see if I like it, but all the insights really helps to know what matters and what doesn't in these ladder games. A bit plus is to already see bad habits of people and try not to start with them myself, is another big plus from these. Good content.

Winter's not a rapper, I hear more flow when I go to the crapper. His name is daddy starcraft, but he sounds more like your mom, he loves to tell you what you re doing wrong. And when he does it, he s less subtle than king kong. Forgetting a pylon makes him go insane, he makes you question if you have working brain.
I see a zerg going melee upgrades and ling/bane thinking, yeah I should learn to use banes. But then I see he's a masters zerg who goes ling/bane into more ling/bane into uncomfortable amounts of ling/bane into like 2 ultras into whining that terran is imba. It seems I can make masters without knowing anything about banes.
I don't understand. People send in replays to get Winter's feedback/criticisms. And when he does give them valid points to improve on, they thensay "they're too lazy to change?" Then what the hell is the point of getting feedback then???
I often wonder if they do it thinking they've improved and that this time will be different, and they act belligerent to play it off. They think they are actually improving and then get told they're still trash and go "oh well whatever I don't even care, I'm not even trying to get better, I just play to kill time. People who are too change anything aren't trying, and people who aren't trying/don't care, don't submit games for review. Or if they do, it's one time for the lulz. This shows a frankly -dangerous- lack of self awareness. I don't think they've ever really acknowledged the possibility that they are bad at something. They MUST necessarily be thinking "what I'm doing is perfect, how could it not be, I must just not be doing it hard enough so let's try again." It's the only logical explanation I can think of for this stuff. It's the only way I can justify someone playing literally thousands of games and not improving naturally. With 0 effort, a person should improve naturally faster than this, unless they are actively trying to force their square peg into a round hole. It has to be a depressing way to live honestly. To always be disappointed. No matter what they do the reality will always fall short of the image they have of themselves. Imagine a defense mechanism against disappointment and rejection that causes literally everything you do to necessarily bring disappointment and rejection. It may be time for the universe to give up on our species lol

Humans are the best species at producing disappointments - well perhaps after the Protoss.. Ever seen an ant and a dolphin produce a disappointment? OR an overlord and a hydralisk? But put a human and a probetoss in same planet or 2 or more of protoss or even a single human .. efficient disappointment production starts immediately.

the first protoss just shows how lazy and careless (and sometimes even catastrophic) protoss can be and still def easy and even counter and win quite often...
For certain people (like Kybrit)? Yes. For the rest it's a mix of entertainment interspersed with genuine learning when Winter gets a replay that doesn't send him into a rage.

I've been watching these like 6 weeks in a row now. He never once disappoints. Actually this is the most mallow I've seen him I think.

The first game is a perfect example why I don't believe people who claim there is rampant smurfing in diamond and metal leagues.
