  • Easy crochet ear warmer/headband for beginners.
    In this video I used Paintbox Simply Chunky, bulky n. 5, color SC61. Crochet Hook J/6mm.
    The start of 17 chains, it refers to the width of the headband, which is 4.5 inches/ 11.5 cm, so if you make it for a teenager or adult, it will fit well. If you use a different weight of yarn, or you make it in other sizes, you probably need more or fewer chains, and divide accordingly to the pattern.
    Average Head Circumference:
    Preemie (2-3 lbs.) 10/11 in. 25-28 cm
    Preemie (4-5 lbs.) 11/12 in. 28-33cm
    Preemie (5-6 lbs.) 12-13 in. 31-33 cm
    Newborn 13 in. 33 cm
    Baby (0-3 months) 14-15 in. 36-38 cm
    Baby (3-6 months) 15-17 in. 38-43 cm
    Baby (6-12 months) 16-18 in. 41-46cm
    Toddler (1-3 years) 18-20 in. 46-51cm
    Child 19-20 in. 48-51cm
    Teen 20-22 in. 53-56 cm
    Adult Woman 21-22 in. 54-57 cm
    Adult Man 23-24 in. 58-61 cm
    THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! 😊

    Very beautiful pattern how do i make one for babies?

    • @crochetcabin6160
      @crochetcabin6160  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much. In the description box, you will find the average size for all ages. If you already have a precise size, you need to adjust the length of the ear warmer to the circumference of the head. As for the width, it must also be adapted to the height of the head. I would make a few swatches and, of course it also depends on the yarn you use. For example: I would use a light DK baby yarn. The average width for Preemie is 1.75 In. to 2 In. For Preemie over 3Lb to 6/12 month is 2 In. For example, you can try making 13 chains, then 3sc, 6hdc, 3sc or 2sc, 8hdc, 2sc. Or 11chains, then 2sc, 6hdc, 2sc. I hope it helps you.

    I love it....can it be made with 4 weight yarn? If so how many chains do I make? Thank you

    • @crochetcabin6160
      @crochetcabin6160  Год назад +1

      Thank you very much. Unfortunately, I can't exactly tell you the number of chains because it also depends on the number of crochet hooks you use. The width of the headband is 10.5cm /4 inches, so I would make a number of chains corresponding to this size.

    So if the fabric stretch, should I measure 17in for a adult size?

    • @crochetcabin6160
      @crochetcabin6160  Год назад

      It depends on the type of yarn and the crochet hook you use. The basis from which you have to start is the circumference of the head. If you want to get the same size as me, with the same type of yarn and crochet hook, you can follow exactly the measurements I gave in the video. However, if you have a different size, different yarn and crochet hook, the ideal is to try it around your head, so you know if you need to add or make fewer rows. In fact, 17 inches is not an adult size, but my yarn had a lot of stretch, and it gave me a size of 21 inches which is actually an adult size. I hope I helped you.

    How many chains can I use for a 3 month baby

    • @crochetcabin6160
      @crochetcabin6160  2 месяца назад

      @shivanimatam2983 you need to chain accordingly to the measurements you need and the yarn and crochet hook you use. In the description box below the video, I wrote some average sizes. For a 3 month baby, it could be 13/ 14-inch circumference and 2.5 inches wide, so you could chain accordingly to these measurements. Then, based on the number of chains you have, you distribute to your need, the single crochet and the half double crochet. I hope it helps.

    How did you weave at the end? I didn't get that part.

    • @crochetcabin6160
      @crochetcabin6160  3 месяца назад +1

      Weaving in the ends is a technique that secures loose yarn strands after finishing a project. In this video, I skipped that part, assuming that it was already known as the technique. Thread your yarn onto your yarn needle, weave in your ends on the wrong side of your crochet piece, find the closest stitch, insert your needle, and continue to insert into the second, the third and as much as you like. You can go, straight, up and down, zig zag, there's no a specific rule. When you are happy hiding your thread, cut the remaining thread, and you are done.
