Fill the bottom with sand to help slow and further catch the bullets so they will be less likely to ricochet? If you redesign/remake it ever most "catches" are pitched 30 degrees for the back wall also
Yes, I’ve put sand in it and it works well for smaller caliber rounds but larger ones throw sand a bit but still work. And I’ll have to double check the pitch on it, I know it’s less than 45 but I’ll be sure to try the 30 degrees on the next one I build. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey on mine in the front bottom piece of steel is a little higher not by much I'd say a inch or less but at the top of that piece I have another 2 inch piece going back into it so it's has a little lip and seems to keep all the fragments in it I think you did a outstanding job on that it makes me want to get back into making them infact I think I'll go make one out of aluminium right now so it can be really light to tote around for my pellet guns this will be fun to weld that much aluminium together need to practice on aluminium anyways
@@ThrownSparksGarage if you do do it the piece is a inch and a half and it's at a slight angle up instead of going at a 90%from the top of the bottom piece lol hope that makes sense lol hope it helps I just saw that this post was from a long time back
your 45° is too steep should have been at 30° opening should have been 36" also should have vacuum port to pull the lead particles into the vacuum. also, you should have a one or two MERV 13 Pleated Air Filter room filter to clean the air from the lead particulet and the bunt powder.
What a great idea and well thought out design. I should let my nephew borrow my everlast welder and make one.
Thanks! I think that would be a fun project for him, let me know if you have any question!
I hit subscribe before I even hit play cos I knew it's gonna b worth it!
Love the duck target!
It’s like the old school carnival duck lol

If you're shooting a 22 you should try it in your basement or something and record it for us

I think I’ll have to try out your little change on mine, sounds like it’ll help quite a bit! You’ll have to let me know how that aluminum one goes !

Add sand to the bottom.
Need one is possible. Send one a California
Will they even let you have one of these in California? lol. It’s pretty heavy so might be a little expensive to ship.
How much do you think will cost if you build it for someone?
Not sure, guess it depends who it’s for. I usually charge price of material X2 as a starting point and can go up for their.
Will this work with my 50cal.
Yeah probably once, but may be a little to much work for a single shot target at that caliber
Lol. Thats kinda what I was think'n.

I try it out on the next one I build!
