This band is 🔥🔥🔥
Kinda like the O-needers 😄
Their music isn't even dated. They don't "sound like the 80s". You could release any of MANY of their songs today and they would chart.
Michael Hutchence was a wonder talented artist.... who was very troubled 🥺🥺🥺
R.I.P.aradise 🙏
One of my all time favourite bands and my favourite song of theirs.
This song was played as Michael Hutchence's brother and bandmates carried his casket out of the church at his 1997 funeral.
“Cause we all have wings, but some of us don’t know why…”
One of the most clever lines ever written! 🥰
stupendous lyric, and the way, his voice soars on it is just angelic. Love the sax in it too, and just totally loved Michael Hutchence’s voice and everything. He died way too soon, and sadly got involved with a woman who couldn’t get away from her demon Ex Husband, and drove him crazy… Leading to his suicide. what a loss, not just for music but for the world, because I think he was a very good Person to begin with in this world and we’re the less without him
"If I hurt you, I'd make wine from your tears" another great line from this classic Aussie hit.
Watch them at their height at the WEMBLEY LIVE concert - pick any song ....
One of my favorite bands ever- I have owned their entire catalogue since the 80s! "Don't Change" is one of my favorite songs of all time, and "Beautiful Girl" one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever made.
Don’t Change is fire!!🔥
BEST concert I’ve ever seen! And Ive seen some greats. They’re amazing!
Been listening to them since '90...on my daily list. 💖We Love you Michael 💖
It’s just sad he ended on such a tragic and humiliating note.
RIP Michael, left this world too soon. 😢🪽🪽❤
Thank you for keeping his music alive.
You mean their music....
@@Master-Wanderer true
Shon is by far the absolute smartest reactor I have seen yet. His ability to pick up on SUBTLE lyrics is unmatched. And I have watched a LOT of reactors.
"NEED YOU TONIGHT - MEDIATE" (combo video) trust me, it's 🔥🔥🔥
Also, their song "THE ONE THING" is my favorite of all their songs. (original video 🔥🔥🔥)
Gotta be the combo video!
DON'T leave off Mediate.
The combo video is the best
RIP Michael Hutchence.
Gone too soon 🌹
INXS were the biggest band in the world in the late 80s but had been popular in Australia all throughout the 80s. Michael Hutchence was the man every man wanted to be, and the man every woman wanted to be with. In the late 80s and early 90s, he was THE rock God...no one else was close. One of my favourites from this group is Johnson's Aeroplane, or The One Thing for an alternative.
Maybe QUEEN is better
@@karenwalsh1143Apart from the fact that Queen weren't performing after '86....INXS were the biggest band of the early nineties.
Hi Mitchell. Johnson's Aeroplane is a bona fide gem. It's also my favourite from The Swing, which was a tremendous album crammed with INXS goodness. I never understood why Johnson's Aeroplane didn't get much of a run on the radio. The first few bars of it are almost like a reverie. It deserves a lot more recognition than it gets so it was really nice to see you giving it a shoutout.
@@sandgroperwookiee65 G'day sandgroper. Say hi to the Indian Ocean for me the next time you're in front of it.
I love this song too. ❤
The line "We all have wings, but some of us don't know why." Is simultaneously hopeful, and sad.
They have so many good songs...and it didn't hurt that MH was great looking. Sheeesh .
New Sensation by INXS (in excess pronunciation) next, please!! They were literally one of a handful of bands on top of the world in the late 80s. Hit after hit after hit, on MTV 24/7, incredible live performers, just the full package. It really is a masterpiece. One of only a few ballads they have, most of their stuff is very upbeat, dance, fun stuff with all the great instruments, energy, vocal, lyrics etc.
I caught mononucleosis when I was 11… I spent two weeks in bed listening to nothing but their greatest hits. Michael Hutchence passed two weeks later… even though his death is questionable I will forever think of him as one of the greatest frontmen of all time.
A front man in the ranks of the best. What charisma and voice. Their music is varied, still in the pop rock mode, but creative, fun, sultry, danceable, anthemable. They were immense. Sold out Wembley Stadium I believe. Epic. Ty for reaction!
Michael shares a birthday with Steve Perry (Journey) and me! I remember when they announced that Michael had passed away by his own hand. I cried. RIP MICHAEL!!!!
INXS were epic! in a class of their own.
Need You Tonight by INXS should be next!
Such a switch up from this and you'll love it! INXS is an Aussie band and one of the best from here. They became huge in the US having multiple top 5 charting songs and one #1. Michael Hutchence was seen as one of the coolest frontmen of his time.
Another great rock song with an amazing saxophone solo is "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen. His sax player was Clarence Clemons an African American man and one of the best sax players
Shon, I love that you arrived at INXS (pronounced "in excess") and that you love them -- or at least this song. However, I'm 100% sure that you will enjoy diving into their rabbit hole of this former Australian band. Some suggestions have already been given below, but there will be many more.
This also is a place to finally tell you that I always -- A L W A Y S ! -- greatly enjoy your reactions.
All best from Germany
This song at first had more tempo.. then they slowed it down and voila! A TIMELESS classic. Wait there are more surprises. Ha we're all waiting for the sax! The musicians in this band are fire.
Greatest band of all time. NTUA is perfection
Welcome to INXS! This would have to be one of the best ballads ever written and the arrangement is on point for every part of it. Yes its a simple song but is deceptively hard to perform well. Many have tried to cover if but few can put in the texture and feeling this simple song needs to make it awesome.
INXS is best LIVE!
Check out anything from their Wembley stadium concert in 1991 to see how good they are. What You Need is a personal favourite from that show but any song will have you dancing!
This was such a major hit, such a beautiful romantic song. Michael's tragic early demise, broke Paula Yates' heart. She never recovered from the loss, and of course she left this planet too soon as well. So bloody sad.
Did it tho? Wasn't she seen flirting and acting a fool at his funeral?
@@dipsydoodle7988 She was a substance user and quite fucked up. People can often mask grief with outrageous behaviour.
@@PanarchyInTheUK way too much leeway to behave that way at your "soulmate's" funeral. I'll agree that she was *ucked up tho.
one of the best bands to ever come out of australia so sad they didn't get to make more music but what we got is life changing and forever
These guys had hit after hit back in the day. They're were a solid band. RIP Michael Hutchence.
As a teenager in the 80s, I was lucky enough to see them several times in Melbourne. They remain in my top 3 live bands I’ve seen, with Michael in the top few frontmen - so charismatic and talented, not to mention how gorgeous he was…
OMG 😢😥😢
this was my song when I met my beautiful husband of 25 years
I lost him in a horrible car crash just two years ago
💔💔💔
#INXS
So sorry for your loss💔
Sorry for your loss ❤️
Listen, I was born January 19 70 so grow up listening to INXS one of my favorite bands of all time and this is such an amazing song.
Looooooooved INXS. So many great songs in their short time. Just do all of them, they don't disappoint.
A catalog with no bad tunes imo! One of my fav bands EVER,, great review ❤
True, I don't remember any bad songs or flops for them. Amazingly talented
INXS great Aussie band! 🇦🇺
Michael Hutchence was so talented, Australia lost an icon, I remember the day I heard of his passing, I was devastated RIP Michael 🙏
Aussie pride.......such an amazing Australian band, I love INXS, so much talent
This song was singlehandedly responsible for the '80s baby boom
Yeah, hate to say it, but I can't even imagine what percentage of my friends lost their virginity to this song
Yeah that drop was EVERYTHING! ♥ Probably their best song. My fave song is actually *Don't Change* which I heavily suggest!
Agree with everything you said! Classic song! ♥
You started with the BEST song!! And the replays and Masterpiece …yes! You feel it and it never goes away.. chills every time!! Your reaction on point as always… now listen to more!
“Need you tonight”, “what you need”, “new sensation”, “devil inside”, “Disappear”, “Don’t change”, “suicide blonde”, “one thing”….
Can’t go wrong with any of them. The best vocals and energy! ❤
Just an insanely beautiful song
It's pronounced "in excess".
Check out "New Sensation".👍
INXS was a special band and this is their song that penetrates the hardest.
This is also the adopted anthem of the Port Adelaide football fans in Australia. Not the team I barrack for, but I still get goosebumps listening hearing half a stadium or more sing this from the stands. ❤
Refreshing reaction man... INXS = In Excess. Another awesome Aussie band to explore is to adore. Cheers from Sydney, AU.
One of the great Australian rock bands… they certainly were top-notch, with so many hits. You won’t go wrong with any of them!
One of my favorite groups of all time their entire catalogue is fire!
I love INXS !!......please do 2 favs of mine.......first is "I Need You Tonight" and then sometime please do the live version of "What You Need" from Wembley Stadium 1991....it's funny and awesome, plus great !!!.....most females (and prob some males too) were in LOVE with Michael Hutchence (RIP).....miss him.
Please make sure you don't leave off Mediate when you react to Need You Tonight!!
Saw them at Six Flags in Georgia. Love them. The guitar player and drummer were escorted right in front of me to ride Free Fall. Wish I had a camera. Michael Hutcheson reminded me of Jim Morrison. So much charisma
Truly one of the greatest 🎵 songs in the history of the world 🌎.
Undoubtedly one of the top 10 rock bands ever.... ❤
I agree, Shon. This song is a masterpiece. RIP Micheal. The world misses his voice.
One of Australia greatest bands!!!!!!
Welcome to my teens! I'm an Aussie in my 50's and INXS, AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Icehouse were what we played.
I knew it: every first listener reacting the same way to the awesome overwhelming sax solo. It's amazing and heartwarming every time I see it. ❤ your analysis was so on spot.
It's In-x- cess. A wonderful group with yet another singer that left us far too soon.
I was so lucky to see INXS three times in my life. One of my all time bands and songs. Listen to their first album, Shabooh Shoobah. SO FANTASTIC!
What You Need Live from Wembly is a great song and video. Shows the talent of the whole band.
INXS, my fave Aussie band, were huge in the USA. This song is my favourite but they have so many brilliant songs worth checking out; Bitter Tears, Kiss the Dirt. As a side note, an Aussie Football Club, Port Adelaide, play this before all of their home games with awesome crowd participation. Goosebumps!
#flagpies 🖤🤍
I sang this to my girl at our wedding and my best man played sax.. it one of my all time favourite songs. INXS are 🔥🔥 and reminds me how we were spoiled for premium bands in the 80s in Australia.
They are hip fire. One of my favorite bands. Swagger, too.
Their an iconic Australian band. This is a departure from their usual stuff. Michael Hutchinson was a musical genius and he wanted to write something that used a full orchestra and this is the result. It was played at his funeral .
Brilliant band 👌👌👌👌
"All right, Bro, who are THESE guys?" is my favorite reaction of yours yet.
I saw them in concert years ago
Totally brilliant live
What a tragic loss of Michaels life 😢
INXS is amazing, they have so many different styles and energies and vibes. I saw them in concert four times, always a blast. If you want to hit up an INXS banger next, check out New Sensation.
Or "What You Need", which is an earlier song and also a totally different vibe. But honestly, any song off of "Kick" would get a 👍 from me.
One of the greatest singers the ever lived bro ! This man was all heart ❤
It is a beautiful song. I remember this coming on MTV like twice an hour back in the day. I was also in love with my first love. Brings back lots of memories for me. Gets me every time.
Michael Hutchence=rock god! nothing else will suffice! live he was so on point you can't tell the studio from the live, sometimes the live is better! I am in the minority, but my faves are all off their last three albums, 'welcome to wherever you are' 'full moon dirty hearts' and 'elegantly wasted' michael was a poet, a genius, and my favorite singer of all time. miss him so much, so much!
This was my sister’s wedding song. I was fortunate to see them live twice in NYC.
Got to see INXS in concert during the Kick tour (this album 1987). Then got to see them in 1997 just months before Michael Hutchence passed away. They were great in concert, and Kick was HUGE in the late 80s.
This will be a fun rabbit hole yo go down. So many great songs. I saw them live 5 times and they sound stellar live and put on a rambunctious show. Have fun!
I added a comment down below about the beautiful song, his tragic life, and especially that lyric we all have wings, but some of us don’t know why. But I have to add. He was one of the most physically, beautiful man ever and a beautiful voice to top it off. Nothing against the whole group because they were all perfect too. This group was friends from being kids so we’re super close
Great start to your journey down the INXS rabbit hole!
There’s a tragic movie about INXS but the name of it escapes me…worth watching !
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They played this song at his funeral. INXS was fantastic and worldwide sensation 😊RIP Michael ❤😢
Beautiful girl is my fave of many of their collections thanks Shon!
Inxs is one of my favorite bands listen this band is fantástic.
"I Need You Tonight", INXS, luv from Auss
Nice reaction and ❤ how much you enjoyed it, my fav line that You didn't stop on is "coz' we all have wings/ but some of us don't know why", talking of revelations in their amazing lyrics ... ❤
Oh Michael. Read about him and Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof. Those worlds collided. Read about the death that surrounded them. In Excess didn’t do good after Michael passed. They had a Reality TV Show as a way to find a new singer. I saw them in the summer 1983 at a swimming quarry in Ohio.
I love your take on the lyrics 🎉 One of my favourite songs from INXS.
When you said OMG. It means you felt it like I did and I was a metal head….
I saw them live at least 10 times in the early 80’s when they were playing in pubs and clubs here in Australia. Every gig was just the best time and Michael was just so damn hot! I would have been 16 at the first gig and fell in love 💕
La mejor reacción que he visto de esta canción ✨✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Saludos desde La Patagonia 🇨🇱
I loved this freaking review! Saw them live in May of 1988. ON FREAKING FIRE!
Big in the 90s in Australia and played to 72000 people at Wembley stadium.
The Port Adelaide football club uses this as there anthem.look it up on you tube. Cheers
More from INXS worth listening to: Beautiful Girl, New Sensation, Devil Inside, Suicide Blonde, Disappear, Need You Tonight, Mediate. There are more, but this list will certainly get you started.
SO many to choose from!
Love Is (what I say)
To Look At You
The One Thing
I Send A Message
Kiss The Dirt
By My Side
Don't Change
Original Sin
I could keep listing for pages! Pick one (or 6!) and just go for it!
I was so privileged to see them live in Wembley arena.
Great reaction to a fabulous song! I really liked your description of the "make wine from your tears" line. I was counting down to the saxophone solo, knew you'd be blown away ❤!
If I ever get around to getting some music themed tattoos, the we all have wings line is definitely going on first 🦋
so glad you love it 🔥🥲
🎶MYSTIFY PLEASE!!!🎶 💥MORE INXS💥
I love your reactions...thank you so much for sharing your reactions, reminds me of the first time I've heard these songs myself...luv you..🦋✌️🩵
I'm glad you're one of us now!
'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why…. ❤
Your right , this song is exceptional and stands out by itself , the only problem I have with it is , it is too short. That sax kicking in makes this beautiful song. You killed it on this reaction , I gotta tell you , your reactions are the best. I jumped all over this when I seen the title of this reaction as I knew you would be touched by its production. Top notch reaction. Tipping my hat to you.
I love you reactions bro deep from your heart with a open mind ! brilliance bro this man is the real deal ❤
You have to do more of this band. They were amazing
Michael Hutchence was the coolest. May he rest in peace.
Shon, welcome to the part of your life where you know INXS (pronounced "in excess"). Michael Hutchence was one of the greatest band lead men of all time! Massive entertainer! Please react to their song "What You Need" but make sure it's the live performance from Wembley Stadium in 1991. It's pure 🔥
Just a gorgeous song. And you are my new fav reactor.
My favourite band. Amazing albums, great gigs, so many happy memories.
INXS is my favorite 80's band. Can't wait to see more of your reactions to them. (via ReacTrax)
You need to listen to their Live show at Wembley from 1991. Perfection from start to finish!
One of the ultimate bands of the 80-90's eras. They helped write the soundtrack to my teenage years and at 52 are still listed to often. Micheal was a deep lyrical writer, say a lot without a lot and had the band to convey his intent. All of them excellent.
