    NEVER TEAR US APART
    Don't ask me
    What you know is true
    Don't have to tell you
    I love your precious heart
    I
    I was standing
    You were there
    Two worlds collided
And they could never tear us apart
    We could live
    For a thousand years
    But if I hurt you
I'd make wine from your tears
    I told you
    That we could fly
    'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why
    I was standing
    You were there
    Two worlds collided
And they could never, ever tear us apart
    I (Don't ask me)
I was standing (You know it's true)
Mm, you were there (Worlds collided)
Two worlds collided (We're shining through)
And they could never tear us apart
    You (Don't ask me)
You were standing (You know it's true)

The team that I support in the Australian Football League, Port Adelaide (nick named Port Power) have adopted this song as the pre game anthem. It is spine tingling when sung by a 40,000+ crowd at home games (there are videos of these events here on RUclips). A few years ago, two of the INXS members were invited to a game and they were visibly moved by the crowd's performance of their gem. Sadly, of course, the song was also played at Michael Hutchence's funeral. PS I bought the album "Kick", which includes this song, the week that it was released in 1987. Unfortunately that cassette died long ago but I have their best of collection on CD and it gets regular use because of their many great songs.

@@adamparker9765 A very strange comment. It seems that you have some issues. So, 1/ What is your definition of "Aussie"? All those who currently live in the country or just legal citizens? (I have lived in Australia for 61 years and I am a supporter of PAFC for 60 years, a fan of INXS since their inception but I am not an "Aussie".) 2/How do you know the song is ruined for anybody other than yourself, let alone 99% of Aussies (whatever the definition that is applied)? 3/ How do you come to a figure of 99%? 4/ How can you be sure that all Australians have even heard the song? Many are children too young to be aware of the song, even if it is played to them and there are many people who have either no interest in music or very specific musical tastes. 5/ How did you become a national spokesperson? The answer of course, is that you have framed your personal opinion, as too many do on various media platforms, into a generalized, exaggerated diatribe. In short, you don't have a clue beyond your own personal displeasure. By all means express your personal opinion but frame it as that, not claiming knowledge and privileges that you don't possess, then producing such ridiculous, hyperbolic crap.

I saw them live as a teenager as I really enjoyed Micheal's lead voice but there were brothers in the band like The Tragically Hip did but I digress. As my taste for music increased I also understood sometime bands talk about their feelings through their music. I've gone back to INXS as the "Kick" album won album of the year but I knew that as I bought that as it was on the radio here in Toronto, Canada. I wasn't aware was how Micheal commited suicide due to the fact that he wasn't comfortable to his fame.
Understand that back in the early 90's, taking ones life was quite unheard of where drugs and alcohol were the main topic of abuse in the earler years. In fact it took months for main stream tv/radio to publish that fact. MTV was just on for a few hours a day, their story with publishing contacts within Australia government took so long to be verified about how he took his life. Understand, this was before Princess Dianna, before Micheal Jackson where that was where most remember minute to minute accounts.
In the 80's music was about love, being accountable, taking blame if it was your fault. Many upon many feelings. Cindy Lauper was along with early Madona singing to the masses for young teenages that it was ok to be different. Madonna made such a connection with her early music with that meesaage that it took her to the world top, it wasn't because of her house music 😆 It was ok to to "Express yourself" and be accepted in the most innocent way.
With Micheal's death and there after with Curt Cobain's death along with mainstream Hollywood actors overdoses unfortunately opened up the floodgates where now it seems like it happens on a monthly basis. It's almost like some artist walk that fine line where their death is almost advertisable in some sence.
I digress, it was a more innocent time, the lyrics where obviously corney but at the the time of a teenager, Micheal gave me that courage with this song to talk to that cure girl in grade 9 or 10 or a few years later and say i've been thinking of you. ❤💔

Sax is such a cool instrument. Never been able to produce a sound when trying to blow in one haha 😂

80s had a number of bands that were still pretty experimental and unconventional. Like the use of saxophone.
(David Bowie is another great for really doing different things, musically, over his career)

I had to subscribe straight away! Your reactions are brilliant!
I would just like to mention that the volume is not the same thru. The music is slightly lower then your beautiful voice. (Siri needs to find something else to do!)
