Maria Sur is 19 years old, and she's a refugee from Ukraine. Her aunt lived in Sweden, so her and her mom moved to her, Maria's dad is still in Ukraine. She was on Ukrainian The Voice when the war started and she had to flee to Sweden. Here she came in contact with the Swedish artist Sarah Dawn Finer, who was part of a charity concert project for Ukraine, and Maria got to sing at that concert. She then got a record deal, and got to perform on Melodifestivalen 2023, and now again in 2024.
She's a great singer, and it's a song with a very nice beat and a beautiful performance. She's my 3rd favorite. My favorite is Dotter, and my second favorite is Jacquline "Effortless".

This year I am a little disappointed with Dotter's entry. Her song is not even close as good as Bulletproof or Little Tot. I love her, but she can do it better. The staging is too boring. I agree with Jacqline. IMO she is the best, I would say it is even too good for Eurovision, her entry is on the same level of internat artists like Dua Lipa, just to name one.

Melodifestivalen is very popular in Sweden. The songs from Melodifestiveln dominate the charts for months. Millions of people watch it live and it's a true family show. People grow up with the show. It's sometime called "Sweden's biggest relaese party" and in the ballpark of 2000 songs is entered every year, this year 30 was chosen and of those 12 go to the final. The competition is fierce,
