- This is my reaction to my first time hearing 'Losing You' by Dead by April. The song is originally from 2009 and the music video from 2012 but it was my first time hearing anything by the band!

This brought me back in the days when I thought this was the top among hardcore music. I still love this band and IMO they are really underrated. They are a Swedish metalcore band btw. :)
I didn’t know that! I never got into them and don’t remember hearing much about them but a lot of my current friends in the scene loved them! Dunno how I missed em haha

One of the most talented but sadly underrated band

I didn't even know you reacted to my high school favorite metal band such a good band and this song was amazing
As A Butterfly is another great song of theirs. I notice they have the same Engl valve amp I bought my son, it's got a superb sound, I miss hearing it being played in his bedroom!
I used to listen to this song and the whole album that this song contained on.
I have seen them live 3 times, the first time they had the same vocalist that were recorded in this version, the second time one singer stepped off the stage halfway with vocal difficulties so the growling vocalist, Jimmie Strimell (that you see in this Music video) had to try and sing another band members part aswell as his own.
The third time i only listened a couple of songs, sadly everything at that show sounded the same, atleast for me.
(By the way Jimmie Strimell once sang/growled in another band called Death Destruction with former members of the band In Flames).
I remember hearing these guys back in like 2010 and it was like nothing I’d ever heard before. Definitely ahead of their time!

Dead by April was a band among others that got me in the scene too, others were dragonforce, thirty seconds to mars and definitely linkin park and skillet.
Very nostalgic.. Brings me back in those hard 2010ish years though... But I'm happy its not that rough anymore.

Did you listen to “calling” by them? Anyway their lead singer left this band like years ago and now he’s leading in a another awesome band called “ends with a bullet”. Listen to their “back to life”.it’s pretty good and you have a good day!

You ever do reactions to symphonic metal bands like Nightwith, within temptation, delain, ad infinitum, beyond the black ? Btw love Dead by April they were one of my first bands into european metal .
it depends. symphonic metal is a really broad genre. I'm not a fan of stuff like Nightwish at all, typically the symphonic stuff that I enjoy is a bit heavier and falls in the deathcore category. I react to all sorts of stuff on request streams but yeah, typically not gonna be the biggest hit for me if it sounds like Nightwish

It's a really good song! First two albums are masterpieces! But after Jimmie (vocalist) left they turned to shit, and he came back years later and they dumped him again. And he was the reason back in the day I started doing extreme vocals, and bands like Sonic Syndicate, The Unguided and later my favorite BFMV. Loved your reaction! If more girls were like you

I suggested this! I completely forgot that I did. lol As you can already tell, they mix metalcore with pop and electronic music. That's the style they go for. They've also been labelled "boyband meets metal". For metal fans, it's either you love it or you hate it. I personally love it. For pop fans, this is a perfect starter for metal, or metalcore in particular, due to the poppy and catchy clean vocals and synth-heavy medodies. I've been a fan of this band since 2010/2011. This is the band that got me into metalcore and now I'm into extreme stuff like deathcore. There is another version of this song; it's called the demo version, which sounds much better, in my opinion. I never liked the album version, which is the version you hear in the music video. When I suggest this song, I want them to react to the demo version instead, but I don’t wanna confuse them, so I just mention the song name. In fact, there is a demo version of the entire debut album, which can be found on RUclips. Most of the demos sound way better than the official version.
If you're looking for something a bit more heavier from this band, you can check out the following songs: Lost (Demo), Stronger (Demo) (this one has a solo), Two Faced, Painting Shadows, Empathy, Peace of Mind, and This Is My Life (this has no cleans). They only have one “new” song that was released this year. It’s called “Memory”. Personally, I’m not a fan. In fact, their newer stuff is far inferior to their older stuff. Their best material is Dead by April (2009), Incomparable (2011), and Let the World Know (2014). Those three albums are solid. But yeah, definitely check out the demos from the debut. They sound more authentic and less processed and auto-tuned than the album version. You’ll probably prefer it.

He came back again in 2017, but then got kicked out again this year. Sucks.
