Dear Jamie Like Thay said, we can not change the world but we can change ourselves and that will inspire others to change as well. We must become what we want, we strongly believe that we do create the world with our way of seeing and thinking about our dear world. Believe that we have won because of how we interare, how we affect and love aeverything that is. We can't lose that peace and love which we create within ourselves. We also believe that Victor Frankly was able to survive three Nazi death camps because of that which he found within. We love and are greatful for everything that is! Your friend Nomi 💖🙏
Every day feels like being trapped in a nightmare. So many people's fates have just been sealed, so many people will die and suffer, so many of our lives are now going to be so much worse. The repercussions of this are going to wreak havoc for years, if not decades. How much trauma and abuse can we endure before we break? I'm trying not to spiral into complete suicidal depression. The fact is that so many of the people who voted for Trump actively take joy in torturing us and eradicating us. We are living in a world of emotionally and psychologically stunted and immature children in the bodies of adults, and that is a terrifying combination. I don't even know what to say anymore because it all feels so cheap and hollow. I want to tell people to hang on and fight and live their truth, but what good does it do when many of us are barely hanging on? When each day is like a war zone just trying to survive? When things keep getting worse and no one seems to have a shred of humanity to care? I want all people to live in peace and freedom, but it's like screaming into the void. This has been a looming backdrop to most of my life, since childhood. I had to hide from and avoid the neighborhood bullies. Then the bullies at school. Then the teachers and adult bullies. Then the random bullies on the street or at the store or in public. Then the bully my parent started dating. Then it was society, the media, religion, bigotry, bullying me. Then the government. It just never ends. It feels like I can never be myself or find a refuge of peace to just be me without someone or something telling me I'm bad, wrong, worthless, evil, etc. Sorry for the negative rant, but it can get so hard when all you want is to live in peace but the world will NOT STOP hating you for existing. Ever.
Thank you for bearing your pain with us, Saraphine-sensei...! Moi could only hope that you could find community and people whom you could rely on for support... I understand how you're feeling isolated. I've been self-isolating from my online trans and queer communities in the Global North for several months because I've been advocating that they do more, express more concrete solidaridad with our Palestinian trans siblings and the peoples of Palestine... yet many of them have ignored my asks for more aid, for more transnational care ('hope that pun is nice!)... I've been trying to get out of this nightmare as well... because moi knows it's not OK to stay alone... I think this cultural value of mine -- not bothering others who already have a lot on their plate -- is stopping me from directly sharing my feelings of disappointment and loss to my friends-nakamas in the Global North... The people of Palestine are in a literal war zone, a genocide zone... Moi's always felt that we could learn and take inspiration from Palestinians, especially trans Palestinians, to counter the threat of genocide on trans folks worldwide? Maybe trans folks in the Global North could learn from how trans peeps and queer peeps in the Global South are struggling together in their own movements there... A patient of mine told me today that they plan to hold "a wake" for the US. They will invite like minded friends and have food and drinks. Together they will process their emotions. I think we all need something like this right now.
I saw my therapist Monday the day before the election and found myself offering emotional support to him as the election was taken a huge toll on him. Ive never seen him so upset and emotionally exposed after my office visit. Our visit was still a very positive one for both of us. If that were not stressful enough Tuesday another trans friend of mine express support for The one we will not speak of and I realized chances of him winning were too great. That makes two trans friends who support him . If our own people cannot be made to understand they will be the targets after the election all is lost.. In a word I will resist, there is noting more that needs to be said. I will be a road block and try to support others while trying to maintain my own emotion perspectives of the human condition. My wife health is compromised and I need to care for her so life is hard. Im a survivor and by shear will I go on.
I endured bigotry and hate early in my life, know that as you go through this trial you will be stronger in the end. Also kbow that all your sisters and brothers thought the world are with you.
As a kiwi trans woman I fear for my American Sisters and Brothers. All I can do is hope for you and express my love. I hope that you will be safe hope that you will live. I hope that you will continue to be you. With my love. Christina.
All of the efforts to be truly yourself are not going unnoticed or unappreciated, they are not for naught. We are spiritually getting closer to the collective us and the resistance is pushing back. YOU matter. I know this is true about you whether we ever connect in person or not. Each of you matters, yes you personally reading this matter. You are invaluable. You are irreplaceable. And you are a leader for justice and equality just by being and becoming. Take in this moment and do not forget you matter.
@ Let us know what we can do IF you feel threatened. We are here for each of you. All of us have some vulnerability. Stick together, truth will win and so will authenticity, growth, inclusion, compassion, and just plain having fun with one another on this planet.
I’m having a hard time just existing I came out 30 years ago and I never thought I would see this day of such. I don’t know what to call it. I just don’t want to exist anymore. I’ve been so sick. I’m 66 year-old transsexual lesbian woman feels like this country is gone.
You are not alone, many feel similar, it sucks but don't panic there is still time to resist, stay positive many who support us live day to day it's not over till it's over.
I've noted here before that I am straight and cis, so I'm not a member of the community - but I do like to think myself as an ally. And at this moment what I feel is a dull ache of failure, of feeling that I, that we, that all of us who are cis and straight have failed you. And I know it makes no difference, brings no comfort in the moment, but I wanted to say I'm sorry.
We must continue to fight! We are part the human panoply. To deny that is to deny reality. We are here and always have been. Human diversity sometimes seems hard to explain. Regardless, being transgender is part of it. It is sad there still are so many people who do not accept that reality. For me, the electoral choice was difficult. Transgender support certainly was a top issue for me in making it. With that said, there still were so many other important issues to consider - Support for Israel, immigration, the economy, government debt, wars throughout the world. As a Jew, support for Israel was an extremely important issue for me. IMO, the Republicans were more reliable in providing the support the Israelis need. Also, problems with immigration and inflation were big issues the Biden administration did not manage well. Harris said she could think of nothing she would have done differently than Biden. IMO, that was a big mistake. I did vote democratic for all my local and most of my state officials. Concerns about transgender support overrode any other concern I had at that level. While there are Federal threats to transgender rights, what is most important is that we create a supportive framework at the state level. I think it important to acknowledge that there is a diversity of political views in the trans community. This is no different than in the broader society. It is often hard to make a choice when there is no party which supports all of one's concerns. The important thing for us all to remember is that truth is paramount and we need to form our opinions relying on it. Then, we may have respectful civil discourse considering all perspectives. Unfortunately, that is something quite lacking these days. Let's hope that changes.
Thank you so much!!! I'll be writing up more thoughts in a couple different forums. But we have to reach out to the others in our local communities, affirm and support them. The coming years are going to be incredibly stressful. We need to maintain our community and lift each other up to help ourselves get through them. And there are reasons to hope it won't be as bad as our worst fears. We do have allies. They don't like Trump. They really don't like Fascism. And they will be fighting him tooth and nail in the legal system, in our state legislatures and with whatever influence the Democrats retain in Congress. We shall overcome. ....... Also, November 20 is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. I am coordinating a local service for that day. We have extra reasons to mourn that day.
Thank you for sharing! I agree, we must not give in to despair. Building community will be very important for us. Keep doing what you're doing. It's important work!
I will always believe that trans people have a central role to play in the awakening of humanity. May this suffering serve to awaken compassion and wisdom, and may this awakening be of benefit to all beings in the universe.
Thanks for making trans folks in the US feel some hope, Jamie-sensei...! Moi's been crying every day because of the suffering in Palestine and also for feeling for trans siblings there and the constant threats to trans sibs in the heart of Empire itself...! If anything, now and yesterday, a year after the genocide in Palestine and the oppression of our trans siblings there there, there's always the chance to organize and build solidaridad with different communities with intersecting struggles, from our island in the Global South to the US Empire and Palestine and all over... Moi hopes that we find connections with all our struggles, especially on a community/group level -- working-class trans, brown and black trans, Global South and Global North trans, trans Palestinians, trans Jews, trans Muslims, indigenous trans folks -- to connect and resist... Nobody's free until everyone is, right? _Kailangan nating makiisa sa isa't isa at kumilos sama-sama!_ (trans. from Tagalog-Filipinx: We need to build solidarity with one another and act/struggle together! 🏳⚧🍉✊🏽
I can't believe any of it to be honest. What can you say about a system that allows a convicted criminal to be president..? I want to visit the US next year to see some friends, but I'm having serious doubts about my safety now. Am I going to be arrested for walking into the toilets for a pee..?
I appreciated this video, but have a philosophical question. You mentioned we do not have value based on our money or our possessions or accomplishments, but that we have intrinsic value as human beings. May I ask why we have intrinsic value? What do we have as humans that other life doesn't? Is it consciousness itself that gives us this value? I'm having a tough time, sorry for asking such a large scale question. :) Thank you Dr Jamie. Love, Cathy

As a kiwi trans woman I fear for my American Sisters and Brothers. All I can do is hope for you and express my love. I hope that you will be safe hope that you will live. I hope that you will continue to be you. With my love.
Christina.
Thank you! Depending on how things go here, we may be future neighbors, which wouldn't be so bad.
Take care of yourselves. Lots of "normies" support you. Sorry about the haters.
I love our allies! 😊
Thank you for everything Dr. Jamie! 🦄💖

Thank you for your support!
My thoughts and prayers go out to my community in America. Y'all are loved!
@@ToddDouglasFox Thank you! Your words give us hope. 💕
@ Let us know what we can do IF you feel threatened. We are here for each of you. All of us have some vulnerability. Stick together, truth will win and so will authenticity, growth, inclusion, compassion, and just plain having fun with one another on this planet.

all my hope has been destroyed.
Don't give up! We will find a way through this darkness.
@@DrJamieTalks i will try to stay alive.
Don't give up! It makes me so happy you exist in the world!

If we give up, we lose. Others win. We and others deserve to win it just will likely take time.
Another Cis, straight guy here, and everyone here is valuable, transgender people, you are worth it, don't give up!
Thank you! Your support warms my heart.
Your support and allyship makes a difference to me and everyone in the community.
@@DrJamieTalks Thank you.
❤❤❤ for your service
Thanks for sharing your views. Your comments are always welcome here.

❤❤❤❤ thank you
As Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "We shall overcome!"
Yes, we will!
I will always believe that trans people have a central role to play in the awakening of humanity. May this suffering serve to awaken compassion and wisdom, and may this awakening be of benefit to all beings in the universe.
Gender evolution is here whether people want to accept it or not.
Everyone deserves a chance to grow up, thrive, and be themselves. May all beings benefit.
We. Are. Ended.
Never let the bastards grind you down, you made it this far keep fighting.
Don't give up!
I can't believe any of it to be honest. What can you say about a system that allows a convicted criminal to be president..? I want to visit the US next year to see some friends, but I'm having serious doubts about my safety now. Am I going to be arrested for walking into the toilets for a pee..?
Just make sure you know the laws of the states you visit. HRC has some interactive maps that are helpful.
Love, Cathy
Thank you for the question Cathy. I believe all sentient beings have intrinsic value. :-)
Thank you!
