Thank you for sharing and I'm pleased it seems to be going well on the whole for you! Alan and Chuck 😂I'm approaching nine months now. I'm mostly healed but there's still a small amount of discharge that happens daily; it's all contained within a small period pad and I just replace the pad once a day when I change my knickers. I believe eventually that won't be necessary. (Well, I'll still change my knickers 😂). There's probably a very small amount of granulation tissue left, and if you saw my video about having to insert sugar cubes, I no longer have to do that. I'm down to one dilation in two days and still comfortably managing to reach the five dots I had originally. I suspect I can reduce dilation frequency further already but it's nice not to have lost any depth at all so I'm dealing with that slowly. I only use the blue dilator now (the larger of the two dilators that I was given) which I think we discovered was a size smaller than Alan. I haven't reached the big O yet but I think I could - the feeling is there; I don't have a lot of desire anymore but perhaps I'll get some toys and see what I can do! No problem peeing so I've been lucky there! I actually spend next to no time looking at it, not because I'm grossed out or anything, but my scarring is minimal and I'm pleased enough with what I have!

I'm going to pin your comment so others can learn about your 9 month update. Sounds like things are going really well. You have great depth! 5 dots is a winner! The granulation tissue I had near my introitus is now gone. I used some silver nitrate sticks on it. I imagine deeper granulation tissue is harder to get too. One of the reasons I went down from the orange to the green dilator, is I got a little blood and discharge after about a week or two in addition to the difficulty maintaining depth. I was worried I would create a fistula or something! I suppose I'm a bit paranoid too knowing how close all the structures are together. Cheers & Happy Holidays!

To everyone transitioning; an extra special Merry Christmas to you all! I hope 2025 is the year all of your dreams are fulfilled! Like Doctor Jamie said, I hope you all spend the time with people who accept and love you not only in the festive season, but beyond that into the future. If you are on your own this Christmas, just know that I am with you in spirit - you are not alone, and will never be alone while I have breath in my body. Love to you all!

Fellow she/they transfeminine person here - thank you for sharing your experiences and joy with us. 🙏💙
After a couple years of deep self reflection, research, and listening to others like you who've had the work done, I recently made the decision to *not* go ahead with any form of bottom surgery and to keep my original parts. It was not an easy decision and I went back and forth 60/40 then 40/60 again and again on whether it was a yes or no, but ultimately decided I am happy with all the other steps I have taken (HRT, laser hair, voice training, name and gender marker changes, clothing and accessories, the works) and essentially consider myself to be "fully transitioned" now at just under 4 years from my egg cracking date.
I couldn't have made an informed decision without the assistance of people like you and information like this. Thank you again so so much for this video and for the work you put into this channel in general. 💞

As I'm quite old, a decade ago, I made some though about vaginoplasty vs vulvoplasty. The question was what will happen when you got older and lost autonomous and rely on third party for your care especially regarding dilatations?
I asked the question everywhere. No one could answers the question and all said I'm happy now. It seems that trans women will never get older.
When having my muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), I chose the urostomy because it is possible for third party to take care of Mrs Stomy quite easily.
The same apply to sexual reassignment surgery, chose vulvoplasty doesn't need any or minimal care from third party.

I'm about to have bottom surgery at Kaiser West LA this week and I have a quick question. Did you have dissolvable labial sutures or did they have to remove them at your first follow-up appointment? I'm so excited for you and it makes me happy to hear these stories! Thank you for sharing and congratulations! ❤

    • @DrJamieTalks
      @DrJamieTalks  14 дней назад +1

Hello. 🙂 Let me first say “Yaaaaaaaaay!” Okay, now to your question. The sutures were dissolvable, but as I was healing, some of the visible ones could be removed with a pair of tweezers. These amounted to remnants not fully dissolved because they protruded from the skin’s surface. I hope you love your new part.

lovely fireplace with such pretty lights and garland! wanted to enjoy more this update about your progress but, hate to admit, my deadname is "chuck". so much cringe for me!
I had trouble with initial recovery from my orchie when I started running again too soon. it's hard to know and really listen to my body when I am fighting my running addiction.
wishing you better results as your healing continues! it is difficult to not be worried/dissapointed during recovery.
and yay!! for your first vaginal orgasm! 🤗♥

I'm sorry if the dilation portion of the video caused you any dysphoria. :-( Prior to surgery, I was very active, and one of the most difficult things for me has just been to not over do it. I probably am, but I'm gaining weight and that's making me unhappy. Are you back to running yet? Is the orchi all healed up?

@ oh no! it’s just humorous 🤣. it makes me even happier to think about the name change i have set in motion with the court. i’ll be a maddie, for madeline alice after my grandmothers. i just couldn’t help sharing! back to running and working up my miles again. healing is just the scar minimization stage. so happy! oh and gaining weight is good during the breast growth phase of transition so think of it as working on them! it’s what i do ❤️

I am glad that it is all going well for you. Your very brave to tell us all these personal details and I thank you for tell us these things. It is great to hear your experiences. Reaching the top of the mountain, wow, congratulations. I am talking things slowly but I am considering a zero depth for several reasons, firstly I have a wife who I have absolutely no intention of cheating on, I am in my early 60s so sex isn't as important to me and as a guy I found sex hard work and disappointing, which was not my wife's fault, but most of all I can be lazy and forgetful and I don't need the hassle of dilation. Do you know anything about zero depth bottom surgery? Digital Hug and kisses from Ireland❤

❤❤❤❤ cannot say, I am not interested , in this. Have just got over my Orchidectomy. Do find the idea of electrolysis ' downstairs ' daunting, after two years on face and chest. Was worth it, but at age 70..do wonder..if I need- to take this further ( ????) 😢. Financially, is out of reach. Still wish to have FFS..in year or two.Am already, in that pipeline..so to speak.Got my surgeon and anaesthetist ( is my next door neighbour 😅) lined up.Perhaps, things regarding ' gender affirmation care' access, aside from the financial aspect- will remain easier( is stil strict WPATH guidelines ) in Australia. Do hope this remains so 🙏 xxxReikki Kyra

    • @ReikkiKyraJonsun

@DrJamieTalks anything from $30,000- $55,000 Australian dollars , depending on what gets done. Am not ambitious, so lower end of that scale. Was in car accident, about ten years ago..so major dysphoria/ got mashed up a bit.Rhinoplasty and under eye lift. Had this done for other reasons, the nose job( deviated Septum/ snored 😆) around 2000. Is on bucket list. As my electrolysis therapist says:" no one sees- what's under your skirt!" I do rock that & heels, some joy in being born intersex 😊) but-" they do see your face" She knows every millimetre, better than most. Was $32,000 investment over 2.5 years, and worth every cent.Sooner or latter, everyone who transitions has to commit to this process. Is almost 'a rite of passage' - for older people .
