So, I am a rock guy. I play guitar. I have played in bands and consider myself pretty good. When Duran Duran was big, we discounted them as a teeny pop band... Fast forward to 2004 (when this was recorded I am sure) and I am in London and my friend says he can get tickets for one of the Duran Duran shows...so I say OK...nothing else going on. But I was not really expecting anything. Thought it would be a cool place go meet some girls... Long story short, I was amazed. Flattened. I had a similar experience, except for the live attendance part. This concert video turned me from a casual observer to a big fan. Had no idea they were this good live. I just saw them last night, and they still sound fantastic! They do miss Andy though.
Same here. I'm 54 now, so I followed them since the early 80's both DD and Spandau Ballet. Both sides of the same coin, Spandau Ballet were the pop-ish, polished band, and DD was the rocker (disguised as a pop band), but then you hear Andy's solo work and what they did with the Powerstation....Duran Duran has always been a legit, proper rock band, no question. John is one of the most solid bass players out there !.
In that day I didn't have MTV so I wasn't bombarded with their imagery. All I had was the albums and the radio hits. I appreciated them on that level before I got to really see them.
I m 44 years old. Listened rock/pop since I was 6... DD one of the best rock pop band...to all the time...the sound the vocal the climax....TE AMO DURAN DURAN ever... (from ARGENTINA)
Agreed. All people do now is film concerts on their smartphones and then upload them to social media, what's the point in going to a concert if that's all you're going to do?It ruins the concert for others who just want to watch the concert.
Finally, they're taking their rightful place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! They've earned everything they worked for and they're among the rock gods in the Rock Hall.
Incredible energy and chemistry by the original Fab Five. Seeing this made me miss the rock edge that Andy brings. That said, this concert somehow makes me feel that everything is going to be all right.
Not just his spirit, but his rock edge and those riffs. The band's synth and perfect melodies need his guitar. They're not the best they can be without him
This is an absolutely sensational concert! I saw them recently and they are still great but back in 2005 they were at their absolute peak, their heads clear of drugs, just fantastic musicians making fantastic music.
Ja Isla.. this is my favorite band when I was 16 years old way back '86. Today is my birhday and I am now 53. I'm still listening to this great music. Great memories! 😀
I love to watch Nick Rhodes. He's just back there, cool, calm, and collected. Class act musicians, all of them. So fluid with their playing and singing!
Thank you DURANDURAN for being part of my musical life since 1982 really enjoy your very enjoyable music looking forward to some new music in 2023 with andy godspeed to him thanks again much LOVE from quebec city ❤❤😊😊jpp
I'm crying at the end of this... listened through headphones and felt the energy, just like being at the gig. What can I tell you.. I grew up with these guys.. i was besotted and still am, with their music ( They sound better live than they do recorded) and John Taylor is still 'Sex on legs' as far as I am concerned. xxxx
John is an absolute MONSTER on bass guitar... definitely amongst the best rock bass players of all time... I think he doesn't get as much recognition as deserved cuz DD is considered more of a pop band, but John could play in a heavy rock or metal band and be ranked up there with the biggest names on bass.
You know, there are some concerts you just know, you wish you would/could have been there? This is that concert for me. Flawless performance. A real time piece.
Andy Taylor is the Rock n`Rolla in Duran Duran - his sound is so rough - that fits like a glove - that´s a great mix with the Funk Pop Space Music and Lyric Elements!
It’s not only his flawless guitar playing his back up vocals are an essential sound of the Duran Duran blueprint go Andy Taylor. May God bless you andyours, Rock On
Brasil Rio de Janeiro Sou de 1972 As músicas do Duran Duran tem o sabor o aroma e a cor dos anos oitenta. Muito gostoso de ouvir e ver o visual da banda tocando.
I was pretty young listening to these guys in the 80s. I liked them and only knew their songs from MTV, but i hadn't evolved my musical sensibilities. A few years progresssed and I was strongly into Punk and New Wave. Pop was really not my thing. I had absolutely no idea the quality of musicians they are. To be able to play this good live is phenomenal from any band. And Simon, what charisma and stage presence and his vocal quality and stamina is amazing! The whole band is so cohesive.

I've never seen Duran Duran live, but I think they're one of the best live Bands on earth. I'm a fan since 1982. I'm now 50 years old and they never lost their fascination. I saw a lot of big acts like Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Marillion, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Iron Maiden. I hope they play some concerts in Germay in the future...after Corona...maybe?? Btw...Simon is a great actor. It's in his blood...wow.
Brilliant band. Been a fan. Followed from 1983. Very sentimental to me and my 2 sisters got me into duran way back and now they have both passed at early ages
Well, with everything I've loved Duran Duran since the 80s, I have to say that Nick is more of a track controller than a keyboard player. His ability does not lie in how to play but in the atmosphere that he puts to the songs of the band. Let's face it, he can never be a Rick Wakeman but he does his thing. All this said with the utmost respect.
Absolutely, I full agree. I would not conceive of Duran Duran as they are without Nick... Just as I am so sorry that Andy is gone forever from the band....
In 1984, I was 14. I went to their concert in Nashville TN at Starwood Amphitheater. Amazing then, amazing today. Giant Simon crush! Followed, minute by minute, his and his brother in the yacht accident. 😂 So happy y'all made it! ❤

I feel lucky that I saw this tour with Andy. My older sister same them back on the 7ATRT tour so it was special to see this with her. My prayers are with you Andy.
I’ve pretty much liked this band my entire life…and I am not young. What a great performance here. Wish they could keep this guitar 🎸 player. I think they are better with him..
@@spacenerd9499 Yea, you can tell the guys had a certain energy about them this show. Andy Taylor (who played guitar on the bands biggest albums/hits) has come and gone a few different times. They just seem to be a better group with him. Kind of like how Fleetwood Mac is better with Lindsey Buckingham, or Guns’n Roses is better with Slash on guitar and Duff on bass. Being in a band is hard, it’s kind of like being in a marriage with 3-5 other people all at once. But instead of sex, you play music together. But those relationships can get strained, especially when money and drugs/ alcohol are factored in..Anyways, I’m glad DD is still out there doing their thing. I sadly haven’t been able to catch them live yet.
Show Maravilhoso, eu tenho em CD.
Love these guys. This is my favorite concert footage of all the concerts I have watched of them through the years. They are always on point and very much in sync with each other and with the audience in their concerts, and are actually at their best in front of an audience, but this concert had them on top of their game, IMO. Clearly, they are happy to be restored to the full band, and having a great time with each other and the audience. I've never seen Nick smile so much! Simon is the absolute best showman of any front man I have seen in concert. I love how he is always visually checking in with his band mates, and engaging the audience. Same with John. I love how he travels the stage, alternating between interacting with the audience and with the others on stage with him. I get the feeling at times that he is the true leader of this band. But they are all of equal value and importance up there, and that ideal comes across very clearly with DD. I love the part at hour 1:29.20, where Simon clunks John in the head pretty good, and although John is clearly okay, Simon is visibly concerned enough to very briefly gauge John's reaction to make sure he's okay. Just a little loving moment in their performance. I love it! Clearly these guys have grown to be great friends, and have a deep concern and love for each other, regardless of any of their past or present issues with each other. That is called professionalism, maturity, humanity and lack of ego. And it is a joy to watch. One of the many reasons why this band is one of the greatest live pop or R&R bands ever. Again, my opinion.
Is Roger the perfect fucking time keeper or what ? I NEVER heard them play with him and the time be any different than the record. He is terribly underrated. That being said , Simon forever!!!! ❤❤
This is a must see for any Duran Duran fan! FANTASTIC! I watched on my son's Oculus VR on a snow day today! It was a fabulous 2 hours well spent. And I agree with Manuel..... Andy Taylor is definitely missed.

They weren't the Beatles, but I think if 'THEY' can induct the F'n. Go-Go's, they can induct Duran Duran into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!🎼✌️

Andy will forever be THE guitarist of D²...no disrespect to Warren or Dom, but Andy is the best.
Warren did a great job differentiating himself, though. I love his whammy bar and harmonics work, so expressive.

So... In the early 1980's I was into HARD ROCK, but I instantly dug the song 'Union of the Snake' I recall Duran Duran was called the 'Fab-5'. High Praise being compared to the Beatles! They weren't the Beatles, but I think if 'THEY' can induct the F'n. Go-Go's, they can induct Duran Duran into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!🎼✌️
Guitar tones amazing.
